741  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature added] Color besides usernames for Ignored by % of established members. on: May 25, 2012, 11:35:49 AM
I don't really see a need for an arbitrary autoban after x, if someone is going to be banned it should be for something specific they did, not just that they're unpopular because of their views or opinions. I find contrary opinions/views bring a lot of value to the forum because it brings about good discussion which informs everyone reading.

+1

I don't see the point in ignoring anyone.  I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I consciously knew I was ignorant in any capacity.

Same here. I don't have anyone on ignore.

* Goes to get the popcorn and claim $ 1 million on claims.bitcoinica.com *

What's up ? Cheesy

In all seriousness, how long do you think this will take ( months / weeks ) ?

This is all affecting the price even if I don't have anything in Bitcoinica.

Trying to imply I am promoting BFLs ? I think they are a scam ...

GPUs are on the way out ( even for free elec ) and if you don't see it then it will fall like a brick on you in Dec 2012

Soooo You don't think current FPGAs are worth it, but you don't think GPUs will last? What do you suggest, wait for some uber-cheap, high-hash FPGA that has yet to be developed/manufactured/sold?

Also, if you have free elec, what are the downsides of GPU mining, exactly?

Look at yohan's solution from a reputable UK company. Not a scam but 100% professional and not BS like BFL with all the delays ... they are a joke.

Downsides of GPUs : decreasing resale value, high noise, high heat now it is summer, AC costs, maintenance for fans etc. and loads of others.

FPGA are pretty much set and forget compared to GPUs which crash regularly.
744  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Powercolor 7990 on: May 24, 2012, 10:40:51 PM
It is true. GPUs will soon be out of the game.

Just wait for 28nm FPGAs and your GPU will be left in the dust in terms of both performance, cost and efficiency.

I am trying to sell all my GPUs before reward halv and before others flood ebay with used mining GPUs.

People that don't see FPGAs coming hard and fast don't have their eyes open ! Nobody likes it but its the way it is going to be ...

Wait, lemme guess.  In 4-6 weeks, right?

I do this all the time ... that's why I am a scammer Tongue

This behaviour is driving the GPU prices up for everyone Angry

Also, don't forget to OC the card to 1100 MHz clock then when it dies blame it was DOA or it broke by itself for extra scam points !

The forums where filled with the same hatred towards MtGox when they got hacked and look who is still the most popular exchange. They learnt and improved, so will Bitcoin Consultancy.

LOL People still fucking hate MtGox, and they are loosing volume by the day to other exchangers (btc-e notably, run by a russian scammer/cheater).

Mark though, should be noted, is an honest person (although highly inept), unlike the liars and manipulators at InterSCAMgo.

Making some serious acusations there mate.

Care to back them up ?

Anybody received a claim yet and got his $$$ back or BTC back ?

Why is BTC-E a scam / cheat Huh

748  Economy / Speculation / Re: #1 most popular Bitcoin Price Forecasts (subscribe here: bitcoinbullbear.com) on: May 24, 2012, 08:59:17 PM
I already posted this in another thread.
But I think it fits better here.
What do you think about this mtgox chart from today?

Does it actually means anything to the price that there less buy orders then sell orders?

Strap on your seatbelt son, we rally !

Bitcoinica need to buy 18K BTC ... reward drop coming too ! Good days for my stash !

Why use bitpay and extra fees when you can convert your BTC to gbp and pay yohan with gbp by yourself manually ? Lazy or love automation !?

PM'd Pirate about withdrawal request, 10 mins later coins are in my wallet. Fassstt Grin Good luck, Pirate!

ppp.... my best is under 30 seconds.

Ditto.

same here Smiley

Pirate was so fast with me, the coins were in my wallet with 144 confirmations before I even asked for them.

It's because he has ESP and he's getting ready to use GPUMAX to 51% the network so he's withholding blocks until he needs the confirmations.  I haven't figured out how to work "ponzi" into this yet, sorry.</conspiracy>

I heard he figured out time travel in that other thread !
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending and Receiving Stolen Coins. on: May 24, 2012, 08:00:33 PM
And that, Sir, is not slander, that is healthy skepticism and very public doubt concerning your integrity, and the veracity of this story.
No, everything you accuse me of therein is a lie. This degree of slander should really get you banned, IMO.

If you understood what "slander" is, instead of trying to use big words to express your indignation that somebody might actually question if the emperor is clothed or not, you would know that what I have stated is opinion, and a very public statement of a possible alternate background for what is going on in this circumstance. That is not, and never would be considered, slander. Your histrionics to the contrary, you have established a very significant body of work in this community, much of it laudable and to be commended, but tainted with dramatically poor impulse control. I will not divert this topic with a history of your embarrassing moments, but you are one of the very last people that should be casting any stones, your history is filthy with unethical behavior, diversion of others hashing power to serve your own agenda, and a diametric opposition to the spirit of open source when discussing evolution of the basis of this community.

And, you might want to check the TOS for this message forum before you begin to spout off about banning people who disagree with you, or dare to challenge your delusions of godhood. But then I guess "opinions" are just like assholes, everybody has one, and some are more full of crap than others.

What do you expect from a religious nutjob Roll Eyes

He once said LTC is a plot to take BTC from the fools. What if BTC is a plot to take USD from the fools  Cheesy

However, him killing CLC was a top job in my book and I respect him for killing that scam and BTC development.

I also said this can take long, but its not a question of IF only WHEN

I like your technical analysis. But, couldn't this be said about anything?  It's not IF the world will end, it's WHEN.

I reply on the right thread. This is my last post about technical analysis here, and here is the link for those who want to continue:

Back to the topic:
I have said as well that we need to ask for a deadline for the claim process to be done to bitcoin consultancy. I think 5 days max are realistic. Otherwise we should take real big action/url]

The claim process will be finished when you stop writing in blue and learn to post a link.
Before those 2 conditions are met, no chance!
I have nothing against different color font. It brings a little joy into our lives. And seriously. It is necessary to limit the time "claim page". Otherwise, all claims will grow and grow. Otherwise soon will not be enough $ 5`000`000  Grin

Why would the claims "grow and grow" if the system can't be gamed Huh

Who said anything about $5 million ? Is that how much money Bitcoinica has ?
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 400 BTC sent to an unknow address. (COINS RETURNED) 40 BTC reward. on: May 24, 2012, 04:38:15 PM
I saw it and I would have done the same if somebody sent me XXX BTC for nothing. I

My case was different. Because he attacked me without giving me chance to return the 22.5 BTC I refused to give refund but instead chose to give him service he paid for.

He did not want to accept service but wanted to get me scammer tag and never see the BTC back.
754  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 24, 2012, 04:30:51 PM
I think the price will rise to $7 pretty soonish because of somebody buying 18k BTC up. Roll Eyes

755  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 24, 2012, 04:08:47 PM
Very funny how all the other folks not giving refunds are not scammer tagged but I am !

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83328.40
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82641

I also told him in the TOS there won't be refunds !
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 400 BTC sent to an unknow address. 40 BTC reward. on: May 24, 2012, 04:00:46 PM
I am very pleased to report that this has a very happy ending:)

Today when I woke up I found 400 BTC in my GLBSE account. I also had an e-mail from GLBSE support letting me know that they had moved over the funds!

Very epic thank you GLBSE staff/ Nefario for going out of your way to assist me.

I would like to ask Maged to help in dividing the 40 BTC reward. 40 BTC will be given out for sure, but I do not have the technological understanding to know who helped the most and who should get what share.

Thank you all!

@Bulanula

Did you read this?

For all those don't know, a guy accidentally sent Bulanula 25BTC, proved it was his address and Bulanula publicly acknowledges receiving it but refused to return it, earning a Scammer Tag.

More trash talk from the biggest SoiledCon supporter on the forums.

I did not want to give him a refund after he attacked me publicly. I offered instead 10 months ( what he paid for with the 25 BTC ) of sig ad space and 2 months bonus but the guy did not want this and he wanted me scammer tagged for not giving him the refund. Lame but I don't care anyway.

Watching this mess.

Where is my popcorn ? Cheesy

That is why I keep coming to this forum ( and the mining aspect ) : the drama. Just like SolidCoin !

At this point, I think it is not very likely people will get their BTCs back.

USD ? Sure they will 100% but they can steal all the BTCs and nobody can do a thing.  Undecided

759  Economy / Economics / Re: Price stickiness at $5 USD/BTC? on: May 23, 2012, 11:00:40 PM
Very interesting thread.

I would have expected the price to go higher now that shorting is closed on Bitcoinica.

Waiting to see what reward drop brings us. Hopefully $10 at least Cheesy

I've said it all along and I will say it now.

I think all the people envying pirate are haters / jealous of his success.

Thanks for the clarification, pirate !
