If this is true then I am in heaven Grin

Sadly, I still think we have to put up with AMD's BS drivers and bugs Cry

Yeah, come to think of it I still think they need to implement something like bitalign and BFI_INT to be able to compete with 5870s and 7970s etc.

I think in this game the more shaders you have the more MHash/s you get.

1536 < 2048 for 7970s Angry

Nvidia fail again. Huh
1603  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [117% - 115% - 105%] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" 115% PPS! on: February 13, 2012, 10:38:23 AM
I do not hop deepbit so what does that leave me with? Lol.
The 140% was when all pools were prop and there were no hoppers.

I will open my books when I end the project and you will see it no were close to 140%.

I'm not kidding at all when I say I have had one week where one server pulled under 100% !!

So are you saying that hopping is now dead / not profitable since everyone is doing it etc. ?

I wonder if the GPU restriction is a northbridge or southbridge issue?
There are manufacturers making custom 10 pcie boards for the brute force community. I believe, might be wrong, that the creator of the Social Engineering Toolkit had one built for hash cracking with CUDA.

Please show us some links or proof because drivers restrict you to 8 GPUs per rig AFAIK.

Thanks !

We will keep the floor at 105% as long as we can. The rates for higher hashes will be coming down some. 1.5Gwill have to stay at the 105% rate now. We are killing off pools right and left and thus our income is going way down. We can only pay out what we bring in and honestly I have had weeks where I lose money.

Yeah so much for those saying hopping brings in 140% PPS. Roll Eyes
1607  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 120% PPS Opportunity. on: February 12, 2012, 10:56:47 PM
Yeah. I distinctly remember I had 205501 shares but seems like data recovery of database is still ongoing probably ?

Why would hacker delete database with payment info after he stole the BTCs ?

... so nothing has changed since then?

Hmmm... Tough question there mate! To the best of my knowledge, we still have a kernel made for the 2.4 SDK having the best performance today on BFI_INT cards.

And what kernel is that ?

Are you referring to phatk ?

Thanks !
1609  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [BOUNTY] sha256 shader for Linux OSS video drivers (195 BTC pledged) on: February 12, 2012, 04:12:48 PM
Getting the GLSL code to work properly is really tricky to me. Here's a tutorial that describes some of the issues:

http://www.mathematik.tu-dortmund.de/~goeddeke/gpgpu/tutorial.html

You have to render the GLSL output to a texture and read it back to the host.

At this point, I'm not really sure how Xaci wants to pass the header and the nonce to the shader. Is the header supposed to be variable in a way, too?

I'm trying to simplify things for me a bit, so I translated some of the code to BrookGPU to get float2 streams. This might give a performance hit, since I'm not sure yet, what kind of texture brook generates and passes to the GPU (I've found some posting that said it's a streamlength^2 * 4 * sizeof(float) texture, which would be really big.

So as I'm trying to simplyfy things, I just assume the header as constant and pass an array of nonces to the kernel. The shader should then replace the header nonce with the current nonce and do the double sha256 computation. I guess I'll have to pass the decoded difficulty, too, but I'll see that later...

Ciao,
Andreas

If you can get this working you are my absolute HERO.

I absolutely DESPISE ATI and their proprietary BS drivers that always break. Once they fix X then Y comes up and once they fix Y then Z and X comes up etc.

It's a never ending cycle of desperation, at least for me.

Good luck !

Question for some of the more experienced here:

Can HFT be used to manipulate charts?

One possibility is that this trading is being done to set the indicators, and bitcoin is heavily traded on signals.

Don't tell me it is that boogeyman manipulator again Cheesy
1611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to avoid fees on small transactions. on: February 12, 2012, 01:48:34 PM
What stops me from mining my own blocks with lots of 0.00000001 transactions in them to spam the blockchain ?

Thanks !
1612  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU bitforce overclock monitor fanspeed RPC in C linux/windows/osx 2.2.4 on: February 12, 2012, 12:31:07 PM
Something is horribly wrong with cgminer 2.2.4 for me. It seems the newest kernel for phatk sucks monkey balls on my 5970. on cgminer 2.2.1 and kernel from last year (not sure which one) it was 359mh/s @ 805mhz / 109mhz
With the new phatk kernel as of this year, it gets around 300mh/s !!
any idea why?

Im running 11.12 drivers and 2.6sdk I believe.
Its on vista 32 ultimate.
Any idea?!

So, Ive stuck w/ cgminer 2.2.1 cuz it uses last years phatk kernel.
Repeat after me; it is not the kernel, it's the SDK.

Yeah. People just wanna get it working as fast as possible without even trying to understand what goes on behind the scenes.

Not good.
1613  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Radeonvolt - HD5850 reference voltage tweaking and VRM temp. display for Linux on: February 12, 2012, 12:22:01 PM
It seems that this does not report VRM temps on a reference 5870 at all.

The values are too close to core temp when VRMs clearly run at 90 degrees or so.

How can I modify the code so that it reports correctly ?

I already modified 1002:6899 to 1002:6898 so that it works with my 5870 and not only 5850s.

Too sad that development is dead because this really could have been heaven for Linux miners like myself !

Anyone managed to solve this issue yet Huh

It really is bothering me I cannot for the life of me read those VRM temperatures.

How can the core be like 70 and VRM just 76 when it clearly should be like 90 etc.

Thanks !

I will try runeks fork ASAP but I doubt that will solve it.

As said before ALL are 100% REFERENCE ATI cards with Volterra chips ( opened them up to check ) so they should work perfectly but since this was designed for reference 5850s then it does not work properly.

AFAIK the 5870s have like 4 phases and 5850s only 3 phases so there also should be an extra VRM that is not getting reported at all.

I really want to avoid Windblows if possible Undecided

We can help the overall numbers for the rigs by adding a 7950 or even having 5x 7990s to a rig.

Impossible. There is a limit of 8 GPUs per rig due to ATI drivers. Shows you don't know your stuff. Cheesy

No. It is called "stable market" Grin

LOL for putting a fan under that PCB and one on top.

Does this forum have a facepalm button Grin ?

FYI:  Still having DNS issues in Thailand.

Same issue in Australia (I assume).  The site times out immediately.  Never received an invite either Smiley

We have all the invites done up to Feb 1st.

OK. So A1bitcoinpool does not work on gpumax. What about clipse's 115% pool ? goat 115% pool ? Thanks !

Our system was hacked last night.  As soon as I can get the data payments will go out.

WOW. I remember telling you to make sure that your security was 100% because Ozcoin and btcserv.net got hacked. Damn assholes hacking pools Angry

I did submit about 205,501 shares and since you last paid me at 184 168 shares that means 21333 shares at rate of ( 60 / 1379647 = 0.000043489385328276 ) means a payment of 0.92775905 BTC.

Hopefully I can fix my mining router and resume mining.

Thanks it isn't in the docs.  I ended up finding it in the source.  Was coming back to answer my own question.  I got only 5000 series so they are always 0%. Smiley

Same here. What would a value of 20% mean ?

Or 0% ? Or -20% ? I did RTFM but I did not quite understand as this seems to be an undocumented feature.

Thanks !

Anyone know why I cannot add this pool : a1bitcoinpool.com ?
