742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *WARNING* Worldcoin Foundation selling WDC at 35% discount?! on: March 11, 2014, 09:35:19 PM
Sounds like a fantastic way to arbitrage the value of your altcoin by -you guessed it- -30% and -35% market price.

Seriously?  Cheesy

746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 11, 2014, 08:55:19 PM
Could you not create some sort of fixed tx fee using the address as a seed? As long as only you know how to decrypt and verify the tx fee relates to the address, couldn't you do that? It would be a separate wallet function rather than part of normal transactions.

I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean addresses from user A would always send tx with fee 0.00274657 and addresses from user B always with 0.00285739? so we can recognize the user?

If so, problems are:
- If users send their address before sending any coins, we can't identify it.
- Users can uninstall and reinstall the wallet to fake being a new user, with a new fee seed.

Finally, the wallet is open source, so anybody can decipher the algorithm. I don't think people would be willing to use a wallet unless it keeps being open source. Otherwise they can't be sure I'm not sending the private keys to myself.

No, I'm not talking about a fixed tx fee. A seperate optional feature, lets say "Verify Mobile Address" that sends a tx fee from that address to the network from that address.

Ok then, could you not generate the tx fee based on the hash of the current network block, or some other one-time event? Yes someone could always alter the source, but that would be a lot of effort to go to just to get a bit of PMC.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will BUY 10 alt crypto currencies this week, advises? on: March 11, 2014, 06:45:36 PM
I'm not going to suggest you invest in Premine (PMC), but I would suggest taking a good look at the thread, and make up your own mind.

I was an early adoptor, but seeing as I still have my coins, and didn't even sell them after the first big jump past 0.001, I can happily say my only ulterior motive is to see more active investors discussing the future of the currency.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the value of Aurora really plummet after airdrop? Or will it rise? on: March 11, 2014, 06:43:37 PM
Whether or not I believe the devs legitimately plan this airdrop, when I think about how ludicrous the logistics are, I pretty much end up answering my own question.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 11, 2014, 06:37:07 PM
Would have been nice to have something in the wallet insert some sort of string of characters into each address that's generated from that wallet so you can tell if somebody is trying to double dip. That might be a nice feature to add silently to the next wallet update. for the purpose of giveaways only though.

Do you mean all mobile addresses start with 1Mob or something like that?

That'd be very processor-consuming for a mobile and too easy to fake. And anyway, users could generate several addresses on the app.

Let me know if I misunderstood you.

Mobile and desktop

like my pmc address is 19U8DeB2F7mjpKhVfwFFmcaNsj9Wowdqm6  now if i generate another one from my desktop it might generate 19U8DeB2F7mjpKhVfwFFmcaNsj9Wowd2nd and so on 19U8DeB2F7mjpKhVfwFFmcaNsj9Wowd3rd  or something along those lines another idea is to have a option to link the mobile and home wallets so they are aware of each other if addresses are different.  still trying to think this all through so might sound like sloppy ideas

Addresses are randomly generated so this can't be done.

A simple way to identify a user by their address would be very useful here but I really don't think that's possible.

Check it out guys, another exchange we'll be added to upon launch!

Happy to support them and their FAIR voting system they will be implementing.

Heh. I almost don't want people to realise that EBT is going to be hitting some bigger exchanges soon. More for moi.
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reviving slumbering scrypt coins on: March 11, 2014, 04:39:25 PM
EBT is about be released on the LazyCoins exchange from launch. By far the most promising of those altcoins to jump on right now.
752  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 11, 2014, 04:13:52 PM
It'd be a mean thing to do. Lots of people have money in max.

Which is exactly why it's so vulnerable to attack.

I can't understand how the developers let it get to a point where one pool controls this much of the network so early on. It's wilful negligence.
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Gridseeds = 195 days ROI on: March 11, 2014, 03:47:11 PM
You girdseed guys will never ROI. By the time you get even close to 195 days, those gridseed miners will be paperweights. Here are two reasons below.

This is becoming a very depressing recorring theme with these Scrypt ASIC miners.
754  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 11, 2014, 02:34:59 PM
Wait, Maxcoin was just a bunch of hype?

Who knew?

Was saying this from the beginning too, but nobody ever wants to listen. This was always going to happen. Lack of any real development + high price means it's just being mined and dumped in an endless cycle, bringing down the hashrate and the profitability with it.

The hype just wasn't sustainable. Maxcoin will continue this downward trend I'm afraid.

I'll tip you a few when I get home tonight.  Smiley

And if you came here in a month with the proof that you've not dumped your coins i will double PMC sent by Nullu.

The PMC community supports one another. We have no interests in dumpers. PMC is far too rare for that.
Wow! thx guys! its great to see the community beeing so friendly and supportive! that made my day!
but dont worry, i will not dump this coin! like u said: its fare too rare for that!
and to be honest: i dont dump at all. i'm a long-term-miner and learned my lesson dumping doge at 20 sat ^^
since then im holding every coin i get (some of them in multiple wallets for siblings, girlfriend, etc.) just for the chance it could be BIG in the future and i got a strong feeling with PMC Wink

Yeah, it's a great community here. PMC will only be a success if it is in many hands, and once the true value is realised everyone will benefit. For a coin that has a total supply of less than 500,000 it's still extremely cheap. Premine is one to hold long-term.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Catcoin - NEW THREAD - Scrypt MEOW! on: March 11, 2014, 12:20:17 PM
I hope all this work pays off for Catcoin.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRA] Graincoin - New PoW/PoS coin | Fast, secure | Version 1.5 Released! on: March 11, 2014, 12:12:56 PM
well guys, one person can not help much. I did as much as I can to support the coin technically. Bee7 seems very busy and I can't get hold of him. It's really everyone who own the coin need to help to promote it.

Another thing is that there are way too many copy-paste coins there, so it's bad.

I've written a block-rewarder script in PHP. I use it for another coin, Premine (PMC). I use txfee injection to add additional rewards to new blocks on the network.

I would be more than happy to employ it for Grain. I will need Grain for it to run, and we would need to discuss what the rewards should be, but I can pretty much tailor it for the needs of Grain.

Regular rewards, a % chance of a reward, a reward for finding certain blocks, or perhaps even just one big reward.

If it will help Grain, I am happy to help. If you need more details let me know.

Block Rewarder Status: Live
Block Rewarder Pot: 100 PMC (Maximum: 150 PMC)
Time: 2 Seconds (minimum) between Payouts
Block Reward: Minimum 0.01000000, Maximum: ? ? ? (Previous Max reward: 5 PMC)
Block Rewards per block: 1x, 2x, 3x
Block Explorer Payout Address: Link
Donation Address: 1CUWaAoF1pPthNqzudZBaM38LgzyeQ4JiV

SUPER BONUS: 0.5% CHANCE OF 1 PMC REWARD

Q: How does it work?

1: I use a PMC Wallet specially set up for sending out block rewards for miners.
2: Using a script, I send myself small amounts of PMC. Every time this happens the script also determines what to set the transaction fee as, aka the "block reward".
3: This transaction fee is then injected into a new block on the network.
4: When a miner finds this block, he will mine that PMC.
5: Due to the way transaction fees are handled sometimes several of these "rewards" can appear more than once in a single new block.
