Because the DB is now available publicly for free and people still haven't changed their passwords.

The incident was in 2015. You can find people losing their account that was registered after 2015...
7502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: once all bitcoins are mined on: November 26, 2017, 02:09:23 PM
With the halving every 4 years, you can estimate to have all bitcoins mined by 2140. Miners will rely on transactions fees still. As long we have transactions we need miners.
With a limited supply, we can only expect to see the value increasing, but I am not sure if the fact all bitcoins are mined it will have an effect on the price.
I won't be here in 2140 to see it
7503  Other / Meta / Re: Coinbase BTC address Signature on: November 26, 2017, 09:57:55 AM
You can't sign a message with coinbase address since a long time now. It was possible before but they removed it for whatever reason they had.
So I don't think there is another way to prove this account is your
It's good t use an address that you can use only for this, even if you continue to use coinbase
7504  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at 9000! on: November 26, 2017, 09:40:01 AM
I start to think that the Bitcoin price is increasing too much or at least too fast. Not that I am complaining about it but I'm surprised with 2017, compared with the previous year. In January, it was as low as 1000 bucks, and if you check the performance back from 2013-2014 you can say to yourself "what's going on?" lol.
I wonder if Bitcoin is not overpriced or that maybe the forks are just helping Bitcoin at the end.
7505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin selling question.... on: November 26, 2017, 09:09:58 AM
There is a better solution far better than localbitcoin. To be honest it is the place I will go to sell some Bitcoins. The majority of people are using cryptos exchanges such as Kraken, Bitstamp, GDAX,  and so on. It takes a couple of seconds to sell and 2-3 clicks to request a bank transfer that you receive 24 hours later. It is far better than LocalBitcoin in a lot of points.

I still will vouch for localbitcoin website because you will receive almost money to your bank account almost instantly with the help of "unified payment interface" that my county had implemented recently. For other exchange platforms, you will have to wait for at least 24 hours and the fees is also high. In localbitcoin platform, I often see offers which are a little higher than the market price. The services you have mentioned may be good but certainly not better than localbitcoin platform.

There is nothing to wait for 24h, it's the standard with banks. The same if for example, your boss is paying you, you don't receive the money faster than that. And for example with Kraken the fees are $0.09cts it's not high. If you request a transfer before 11.00 am the funds are credited around 10.00 pm.
The reason the rates may be higher is that people are looking to pay with a payment method that they can't use in other places without a verification, payment processors not supporting cryptos, credit cards etc.
7506  Other / Meta / Re: Hope is cyrus or hilariousandco see, I want to explain about my account banned on: November 26, 2017, 08:34:04 AM
Not only the "managers" are tired but the members also are very tired to read a post without sense, copy-pasted content, and so on.
While a forum is supposed to discuss, debate, share with other members, it's very hard to follow a discussion with hybrid users.
You may think the sanction is rude for you but for others, it's well deserved.

7508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins are there? on: November 25, 2017, 04:19:20 PM
Something not bad to know is that there are from 17% to 23% of bitcoins that are gone for good according to chainanalys. It's about 2.7 to 4 millions bitcoins. http://fortune.com/2017/11/25/lost-bitcoins/

It's a so huge number if you think about it would mean that once all the bitcoins are mined we will have about 6 million bitcoins lost forever. So if finally, we have fewer bitcoins circulating the value will go above the roof?
7509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: UK Bank Account? on: November 25, 2017, 03:21:21 PM
Ah sorry, I didn't know that Revolut accepts only European citizens. I checked Fidor ad look like it accepts only UK citizens. But for sure a bitcoin related business can use the service as Kraken had a bank account with them. I think you will have he same problem with sogexia since you are planning to operate something related to cryptos.
Global-coin may be good to check but if i am not wrong the iban is shared so not sure if it will be good for your plan.
7510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Questions about taxes on bitcoin transactions on: November 25, 2017, 02:09:52 PM
2.A friend of mine who lives in Colombia can buy bitcoins in localbitcoin F2F at some good price, lets say 6000 dollars one, then he sends it to my wallet in belgium using XAPO.COM.  I can immediately go and get the money out of an ATM and we can do 9% earnings immediately. or even more if we wait for btc to go up.

However I have to send him his money back and half of the earnings, 4.5%.  We did this test with only 100 dollars just for testing purposes.  However that wire transfer is under my name.

We want to do it with at least 1btc per month, I am afraid of how regulations work here in Belgium, the  money will never be deposited into a belgium account, but there will be a trace of me sending a lot of money 6k per month and they might think where I am getting the money from.

1. How can I do this as legal as possible and not get into any kind of troubles
2. Wlill I have to pay any taxes on those transactions each year? otherwise seems not a good transaction at all,

thx
You should ask in the French subforum because there are some Belgium citizens there, but if I am not wrong there are no taxes in Belgium with cryptocurrencies (not yet). Yes, you have records of you sending money to buy bitcoins but you are sending to a friend, not to a company. They have no way to know that you are sending money for the purpose to buy bitcoin. (they can't see you're friend bank account and to know what he is doing with)
In fact, the one who maybe should be worried is your friend in Colombia because he is buying and selling bitcoin and he is supposed to report the profits from buying and selling.

If you are from the Flemish or Wallonia zone and don't know French language I can help you to translate if you want so you can ask there to the Belgium folks
7511  Economy / Goods / Re: Need a residential US address on: November 25, 2017, 05:18:11 AM
There are reputable websites doing exactly what you are looking. There are some that also open the box for you to check if everything is fine before sending it to you,  so you don't waste your time and save money if there is something to be returned
7512  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OhMyCo.in - Real-time cryptocurrency market charts on: November 24, 2017, 11:42:06 PM
OhMyco.in is a good domain name Smiley

If you can add some other exchanges in future that can be great (Kraken, Bitstamp, etc (at least the most popular))

For me, these dark themes hurts my eyes after a couple of minutes, so I agree with @kuroman It can be great if you turn on the light in the house because after 10 minutes I will end by saying "OhMyEy.es"  Grin
I know some people like to use a dark theme but it really hurts the eyes of some people. For example, me, after 10-15 minutes I am forced to zoom the page at 150% otherwise I am not able to read.
7513  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: UK Bank Account? on: November 24, 2017, 11:05:25 PM
You can try Fidor but I doubt you will be able to open something there. With Any other UK bank as well, specially if you don't have any real UK address.
You can try Revolut, Sogexia and others, as they are giving a UK IBAN so it can be a solution for you perhaps. It's a pure online banking but if it's work for what you are planning, then why not...
You need to be approved by Payoneer before to be able to use their global payment service and it's not easy to be approved as you can guess.
7514  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Trustable Exchanges as of Nov. 2017 on: November 24, 2017, 10:48:03 PM
You can add Cryptopia to your list, and I would give it A+++, some others that you can be interested in are HitBTC, Livecoin
If I have to choose 3 I would add in: Kraken, Cryptopia, BitStamp

Topics with title problems like "funding/withdraws locked in Kraken" If you follow up the story carefully and are yourself a member of Kraken, you will notice that the problem usually comes from people not reading enough Kraken FAQ, etc.

Bittrex D
Coinbase/GDAX C
Kraken A
QuadrigaQC No idea about this one sorry
CoinCorner No idea about this one sorry
Poloniex D
CanadianBitcoins No idea about this one sorry
BitFinex I have a mixed opinion about it
BitHumb No idea about this one sorry
BitStamp A
7515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bit Coin is a Ponzi Scheme on: November 24, 2017, 10:31:17 PM
So, why to invent a system using cryptography, and create the blockchain technology just to run a Ponzi.... While you can, for example,  just run HYIP site within 1 hour and make more money with less effort.
Bernard Madoff used just a pen and paper and a few dinners at the restaurant and his Ponzi scheme was about million dollars.

The fact that some "super powers" use the dollar doesn't make it valuable
By the way, from what is backed the dollar? Ahhh, from the debt from US citizens and the FED printing money like the cash cows ?
7516  Economy / Economics / Re: China Busts a $3 Billion Underground Bank as It Tightens Its Grip on Money on: November 24, 2017, 09:23:01 PM
The article writer is a little hypocrite here. When it's about our own countries that's fine to do this but when it's about China it's not fine.
It's a common practice that is running for years and years under different schemes and improvement with time passing.

As the Ministry said, these banks are illegal but common in China. In other countries they use subdivision located in taxes paradises like Cayman, Man island, Aruba, Panama etc. but it is the same system used

If a Chinese really want to send his funds outside his country he can still f
do it without any underground bank, so setting z limit is going to help at all, other than developing another system
7517  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: PSA: Black Friday deals for Hardware Wallets on: November 24, 2017, 04:49:41 PM

7518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to drop Bitcoin in favor of Ethereum on: November 24, 2017, 04:34:32 PM
It has been talked multiple times already, why do you open another discussion while there are at least 3 topics on the same subject
7519  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bittrex scams $millions and the community is in denial phase! on: November 24, 2017, 12:03:23 PM
Calling a denial phase is a little wrong because:

People who are not members of Bittrex can't deny or accept something that they are not suffering from.
People who now have a problem with Bittrex don't deny the situation
People, members of Bittrex with their account working fine are thinking "I don't care, my account is fine and I am not concerned"

We can't say if the 0.1% of locked account is accurate or just exaggerating as we can't verify but reading complaints here and there can give a good idea (that it can happen to every account soon or later). And it's usually more easy to find complaints on the web about any company than praises and applause.

The pressure by authorities an be a real possible scenario, but not saying which is making the story more suspicious. But I don't why they would want to make an exit scam while the company is profitable to them.
