@yahoo62278. There is something inside of me that will certainly not be surprised if CJ Stroud and the Texans give the Ravens fans a panic attack. Lamar on the regular season is a different quarterback from Lamar during the playoff heheheheheee.

On the Packers and Jordan Love, Christian McCaffrey is healthy and he rested during week 18. The 49ers will win the game and against the spread.

On Belichick, it might be better for him to be the head coach of the Cowboys? Dak Prescott is certainly a good QB.

@Rikafip. I very much agree. If we remove the Hollywood agenda, the politics and judge only from their performances, I think Sandra Hüller gave the best performace. However, we do not know if she will be included in the nominated best actress list hehehe. I wish she will because I would like to lose with her as my bet against @Saint-loup heheheheheh.

Also, agreed on Anatomy of a fall vs. the Holdovers for best original screenplay!

Bill Belichick went to Atlanta and had an inteview with the Falcons. It appears that the sportsnews media are taking this and making it appear that the Falcons are the clear favorites for Belichick. I shake my head, we do not know what Belichick said in this interview and it is uncertain if the Falcons will give Belichick his demands as a head coach that also has responsibilities as general manager.

If he interviews with the Commanders, does this imply that they are the new clear favorites?

In a column published Wednesday morning, ESPN’s Dan Graziano predicted Belichick to be Arthur Smith’s replacement. The NFL insider also shed light on the mutual interest between Belichick and the Falcons.

“I think he is the clear favorite here unless another job opens that has a quarterback already in place and offers him a chance to win those 15 games he needs to pass Don Shula in short order — perhaps Dallas. Atlanta has already interviewed Belichick,” Graziano wrote.

@yahoo62278. After witnessing how the Lions played against the Rams, Baker Mayfield might win another playoff game, I reckon hehehehe.

News update.

Sam Bankman-Fried's parents has filed for a request to dismiss the lawsuit against them. They are also denying in any involvement with FTX and with anything fraudulent that have occured within the exchange.

They also will not return the money that were sent to them by FTX under Sam's management hehehehe.

In any case, are appeals ongoing for Sam's case? The skeptical me reckons that this might also be Barbara Fried's tactics to test what they can do and what type of deals they can make with the government for Sam.

Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, the parents of Sam Bankman-Fried, have asked a court to dismiss a lawsuit by the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX seeking to recover funds it alleges were fraudulently transferred.

FTX sought to "recover millions of dollars" from Bankman and Fried in September 2023. Less than two months later, their son, Bankman-Fried, was found guilty on all seven charges of defrauding customers and the United States. His sentencing is expected in March.

785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 17, 2024, 04:15:48 AM
^^ It was one sided fight for Arthur Beterbiev over Callum Smith, Smith though fight valiantly, but Beterbiev is too much for him that he wasn't able to take advantage of his height and reach against the shorter Beterbiev. And then he eat a lot of punches,

Quote
Beterbiev’s promoter, Bob Arum, indicated that a potential full unification bout between his charge and Dmitry Bivol, the WBA titlist, could materialize later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Arum said there was strong interest in that matchup from Turki Alalsihkh, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment, a body that oversees some of the oil-producing country’s most significant cultural events, including Riyadh Season.

https://www.boxingscene.com/bob-arum-optimistic-beterbiev-bivol-happen-expects-saudi-arabia-stage-it-summer--180730

So it's good to hear that Saudi is very interested to see the Bivol vs Beterbiev unification fight. And we all know that if this rich oil nation wanted it, definitely money is not going to be a problem as long as they can make the fight happen in their country in Riyadh Season. Most likely we will see this huge fight at 175 lbs.

Will the money that the Saudis will offer be enough for WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán to allow a unification fight against Bivol without removing Beterbiev from his WBC light heavyweight championship? Is the war between Russia and Ukraine not anymore on Sulaimán's agenda?

I speculate that many boxing fans might predict this to be a victory for Beterbiev but the sportsbooks will list Bivol with very small odds heheheee.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: January 17, 2024, 03:38:47 AM
Agreed, Emma Stone really has done a very good job for Poor Things hehehehe. However, it might not be as good as Lily Gladstone who has presently become the favorite from 2.05 to 1.46. It appears @Saint-loup will be winning the bet. Congratulations.

It also appears that there might not be a storyline similar Coda for this Academy awards. Oppenheimer went from 1.77 to 1.26. There will still be another month before official Oscar's voting, however. Final odds will not be seen until March 1.

In any case, similar to my Oppenheimer as best picture speculation last year, my next speculation for best picture next year is Dune 2.
Fortunately or not, bookmakers don't vote and they are often wrong. If I agreed with them I wouldn't have bet on Gladstone because she was not their favorite, so I won't pretend they are reliable now for predicting accurately this Oscar winner. But to be honest I'm curious to know why they've changed their mind? Lily Gladstone won the Best female actor in a drama but Emma Stone also won the Best female actor in her category (musical or comedy film) so what is their criteria? Is it because her speech was just way better than Stone's one? Or is it because they've been aware of the number of votes for each one?

But in this game of betting, the sportsbooks have a higher chance of making the correct speculation than being wrong. If they always have gotten it wrong then we can be quite certain that they would be bankrupt hehehe.

In any case, the Hollywood wokefulness agenda and the storylines on minorities being oppressed have pointed to a win for Lily Gladstone. I am not saying that she is a bad actress but there is something more behind her Oscar win than a win for anyone else.

@Rikafip. Yes hehehe. On all the movies I have watched that might be nominated for best picture, the most enjoyable is the Holdovers. This might win for best original screenplay, I reckon.

Also, news update. Final nominations might be announced next week.

Put your pencils down, and pass your ballots to the front. The nominations voting period for the 96th Academy Awards is now closed. The latest influences on the race came from the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, where Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” topped both groups. However, Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” has shown considerable strength, and films such as Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers” and Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall” are picking up momentum.

787  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitcoinETF approval will possibly cause much bigger jump than most people expect on: January 17, 2024, 02:57:40 AM
There was no price shock or massive price pump after the bitcoin ETF was approved.
bitcoin price is normal. the increase or decrease is also small according to the price increase on normal days. like there is no big news at all to shake the market
Because it has been rumored for months now and that's when we go up from 20k to 48k just recently. As I've said before and what others are telling too, this is more like a sell the news thing, the psychological level people is anticipating now is if it touch $50k or slightly higher than that and people will move back to alts. By the way, people now speculates on ETH or even an XRP spot ETF, probably these two will run hard next.

However, we cannot underestimate on what might be coming soon hehehe. According to some articles, Blackrock bought 11,439 coins in only 2 days. It takes bitcoin miners approximately 15 days to produce this much coins, I reckon. Ask as miner from the community if this is correct.

Blackrock is also speculating on an ETF for Ethereum and if you listen to Larry Fink's interviews, it appears that he is very much similar to someone who is new to the cryptospace who is in it for the technology heheheheh.

Following just over two trading days for the newly approved investment product, BlackRock now has 11,439 BTC worth more than $497 million for its Spot Bitcoin ETF. Indeed, the asset management firm iShares Bitcoin Trust had an undoubtedly successful inaugural day.

788  Bitcoin / Legal / CFTC releases a report on DeFi, recommends certain actions from the government on: January 17, 2024, 01:34:09 AM
The US commodities and futures trading commission has released a report where it describes that the problems in DeFi is in the absence of accountability and it recommends that the regulators work with DeFi development teams and take certain actions on digital identity.

It appears KYC will be coming soon to DeFi hehehee.

CFTC Commissioner Christy Goldsmith Romero, sponsor of the TAC, stated “From the time that I arrived at the CFTC, I have played a steady drumbeat that we need to study emerging issues related to digital assets or we could risk harmful unintended consequences.  This report is the result of the hard work of the TAC Digital Assets and Blockchain subcommittee to study DeFi.  It is intended to help inform ongoing policy debates in the U.S. Congress, state legislatures, and regulators including the CFTC.  It provides a foundational understanding of DeFi.  It finds that the benefits and risks of DeFi depend significantly on the design and features of specific DeFi systems.  However, most DeFi systems are not completely centralized or decentralized, but instead operate on a spectrum.

However, if Jerry Jones wants to win a superbowl, he should give Bill Belichick everything he needs and he wants. If this is giving Bill to act very much similar to a general manager while also being a head coach, give it to him. Jerry Jones is 81 years old, he will certainly want a new superbowl to bring with him in the coffin.

Jerry Jones telling his assistant to call Bill Belichick

Jerry is about as hands on of an owner as any owner is in all of sports. He doesn’t like relinquishing control in terms of GM type responsibilities. Also, while I do believe Belichick is one of the greatest coaches of all time, I do not think he’s a very good General Manager. He’s actually quite terrible when it comes to making draft picks. His recent track record is quite poor. No Brady, not sure he has any rings at all right now.

Agreed, however, the argument is he is 81 years old and he might want 1 more superbowl to bring with him to heaven hehe. He might be forced to give Belichick what he wants. It might also be good for Belichick because the Cowboys does not have a slot in the 1st round of the draft.

But if it is not Belichick, who? There are articles mentioning that Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbaugh might be the best replacements for McCarthy.

@nutildah. The Eagles' defense made the Buccaneers appear as superbowl contenders hehehehe.

News update.

It appears that Blackrock's Larry Fink might already have a roadmap for their future investments in the cryptospace after the spot ETF for Bitcoin. This will be the tokenization of real world assets in Ethereum as already mentioned and an application for a spot ETF for Ethereum. Blackrock will put money to go inside the money then to produce more money hehehehe.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said today on CNBC that he sees value in having an Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF), fueling speculation a spot ETH ETF will trade next after the record-breaking launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs.

“I see value in having an Ethereum ETF,” Fink said in an interview Friday.

Fink said he believes all securities will be tokenized.

“These are just stepping stones towards tokenization,” he said, adding that the technology to tokenize everything already exists.

@ralle14. I reckon after witnessing how the Cowboys lose against the Packers, we cannot underestimate the Rams. Matthew Stafford is a better quarterback than Jared Goff, the Rams have rookie offensive player candidate Nacua, Cooper Kupps is healthy and Kyren Williams appear to have been doing his job good enough for what his team needs. This would be not very surprising if the underdogs are not really the underdogs heheheeh.
The ending was so tight that the points mattered and you guys are right about the Rams. Smiley

Matthew Stafford played better than Jared Goff, I reckon. If the Rams have gotten 1 touchdown from the 3 that they were in the redzone on the 2nd half, they certainly would have won the game.

In any case on this next game, the Eagles does not have AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts will play with an injured finger and Devonta Smith has a minor leg injury.

@nutildah. Post country Taylor Swift is an agent of the Illuminati. No one is allowed to say anything bad about her hehehehe. The comedian Jokoy in the Golden Globe awards has also witnessed this after making a joke about her getting more screen time in the NFL than the awards show.

In any case, another prediction on where Belichick will go. The Cowboys will lose this playoff game and fire Mike McCartney and replace him with Bill hehehe.

@ralle14. Also the weather. It might take away much from the Dolphin's passing game and Mike McDaniel wants Tua to throw the ball long. It will be difficult to do with the snow and the wind.

I am not quite certain why the sportsbooks were favoring the Browns with a field goal. They have Flacco, the Texans have the rookie of the year Stroud and hometown advantage hehe. It is also quite unexpected to see that the game went to a high total of 38 points only in the first half.

On the next game, agreed to all of you on the Chiefs in the snow.

On the speculation on what team Bill Belichick will go next season. There might be 6 teams that have a vacancy for head coach. These are the Titans, the Falcons, the Commanders, Seahawks, the Chargers and the Panthers. Which of these teams would be the best for Belichick?

I reckon how high in the draft should be one of the considerations and also if the team would want to spend money. The Chargers has the talent already which might make it a best option, however, are they willing to spend money on an expensive reconstruction of their defense?

I speculate Washington might be the next team for Belichick. They have money and they will give Belichick what he wants. They also have 2nd pick on the 1st round for the draft this April.

800  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval; Price dumps, what Next? on: January 13, 2024, 12:59:37 AM
I am still in awe as to why the price of Bitcoin is testing new lows in the last 6 weeks. I expected the approval of Bitcoin Spot ETF to be a game changer and for Big players in the financial institution to take the lead and give us a fullscale bullrun, but it seems as if I was only expecting the reverse of what I thought.

What could really be happening?

According to this article Vanguard made the decision to delist their futures ETF product for bitcoin and they will not offer a spot bitcoin ETF product. It is not certain why they changed their minds, however, it will not be surprising if some of the people behind Vanguard are the same people who support Elizabeth Warren in the senate.

In any case, without knowing the news, the chart appears to be showing that the ETF approval is a sell the news event as many have speculated hehehe.

Vanguard's decision to not offer its users access to bitcoin ETFs has sparked a backlash among some customers, who have decided to close their brokerage accounts and move their money to other platforms.

Vanguard users have found themselves unable to buy shares in spot bitcoin ETFs, which started trading on Thursday after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission greenlighted nearly a dozen bitcoin ETFs for the first time on Wednesday.

The investment manager's stance on crypto has frustrated some crypto advocates with Vanguard accounts - leading them to take their business instead to the firm's more crypto-friendly competitors.

In an email to MarketWatch on Thursday, a Vanguard spokesperson reiterated the firm's decision to withhold trading of spot bitcoin ETFs on its platform. "While we continuously evaluate our brokerage offer and evaluate new product entries to the market, spot bitcoin ETFs will not be available for purchase on the Vanguard platform," they wrote.

"Our perspective is that these products do not align with our offer focused on asset classes such as equities, bonds, and cash, which Vanguard views as the building blocks of a well-balanced, long-term investment portfolio," the spokesperson added, noting that Vanguard has no plans to sponsor any bitcoin ETFs or other crypto-related products in the future.
