If it's really necessary, I can offer free ssh tunnels for reputable members.

Are they really blocked all VPN service ?
Maybe they just able to block free/cheap VPN only Roll Eyes

Now, people in china are trying to search new way to access blocked website like use premium VPN/Tor Browser

Yes they blocked mostly free vpns and some popular vpn that are regularly being used in China. But still other premium vpn services working fine in China. This is very important to take a serious VPN provider. Not only for Chinese people which needs to bypass censorship but for all people who wants to protect their privacy.

it is a matter of time until it will be blocked... it's annoying if this is happening in the middle of a trade
There are loads of encryption methods, it is releatively hard for the government to decipher and block them with DPI. You can just change encryption method and continue your trade. Or even better, use ssh tunnel, they won't be blocked.

the normal people from China won't be interested about any ssh... Smiley

True but there are various programs to bypass the censorship, which most people in China uses. Most of the Bitcoin users are pretty techsavvy and would have some knowledge on bypassing the censorship.

People can just deposit 10k into account A and claim the faucet at account B, transfer the 10k from account A to B and then transfer back to A. Voila, profit.. However, you would probably get reported and banned. The best option is to prevent the user to use PVP unless they deposited the money that is equal to the PVP bet's amount. Stunna can just implement play money for people to test out PVP.

That would be like sheer waste of time. How much would you gain from faucets even if we do this?
Its going to take years to earn something substantive in this way.

It's not a waste of time when bots do it automatically for you. The scammers just sit back and watch the money come trickling in. I can't remember the exact figure but stunna mentioned he was paying out quite a lot of bitcoins from the faucet alone and many were just bot scammers.
Can the bots solve the captcha? I guess that captcha are made so that people don't use bots to missuse a service and so how can people missuse the faucet through bots?
They can't. I don't think much OCRs on the web are able to solve solvemedia's captcha with reasonable accuracy rate. If solvemedia suspects you are a bot, they would give you an even more complicated captcha, clicking on the screen/difficult captcha.

even thou its look like a troll but still promotion or selling hacked stuff atleast should be banned here or soon bitcoin will become hackers payment method
Most hacker's payment method is already bitcoin due to its anonymity and the difficulty of tracing payments. Did you even read the OP? It is talking about the Twitter post, OP is not selling anything.

So now you are thinking about moving away from PVP?  Seems rather weird the 2 biggest things I was excited about PD3 was the bigger faucet(which I boosted my faucet quickly and lost a lot of coins too do so) was removed, and PVP which was removed.  Sort of sad:(

I remember many people getting excited about player vs player but the most important question is did people actually use it? Have you been using it yourself? I think many people request things and get excited for them but then never actually use them and then the initial hype dies down.

I didn't do PVP didn't really enjoy it that much.  I am just curious as those were 2 of the big features and it hasn't been a full year and they have removed their 2 biggest features which is sort of annoying.

I can understand the changes to the faucet as they were being abused by bots and it was costing them bigtime but people must still be using pvp and that doesn't cost them (just maybe not in the volume they'd like). so it seems silly to abandon a good feature.

People are abusing that as well.  They are claiming faucet, and then PVPing another account to rack up coins.  It is very time consuming and you really can't get a lot of money you know.   I am somewhat angry about the whole thing because I boosted my faucet quickly to get a bigger return from the faucet, lost .7 coins and was pretty much instantly nerved so I feel cheated, but coins are coins I guess.

Why not implement a 50k satoshi minimum PvP bet size just like the one in the tip feature?

50k is maybe too much. But 10 or 20k could be good and avoid abuse..

It's a waste of time but people are purchasing high leveled accounts to do this. It isn't really worth the effort purchasing human captcha solving or solving it themselves as it would be detected soon enough.
7846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to synchronize 2 single wallets? on: January 30, 2015, 12:09:01 PM
I have the blockchain in one wallet, but it's not most recent.
I had written "addnode=IP" to config file (where IP - is IP of my computer with wallet which have the blockchain), but another wallet didn't see it.
If I'll use "addnode=IP:PORT" command, what PORT number I should to write?
You probably don't understand how it works. Go to the altcoin's thread, find the node's IP and port and input them accordingly. If they are down, then you wouldn't have chance of getting the wallet synced. You aren't suppose to put your own IP.
7847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to synchronize 2 single wallets? on: January 30, 2015, 10:11:07 AM
If no nodes is available, you will never be able to synchronize the wallets as there is no way for you to get the blockchain. Unless you have a copy of the most recent blockchain, don't bother trying. This is one of the downside of decentralised currency. To add node, add this into the config.
Code:
addnode=IP:PORT
7848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Pay and BTC on: January 30, 2015, 10:04:29 AM
Correct me, if I am wrong, but is Apple Pay not just putting your credit card data on your iPhone.
Seriously, that is the innovation Apple does nowadays?
Apple Pay "potentially" be safer than normal credit cards, if someone gets your credit card, they can easily steal your funds in the card. With apple pay, they need to first authorise the payment with a fingerprint although it won't be alot more safer since the fingerprint sensors is pretty bad. Some sources cited that lower fees would be incurred if apple pay is used to purchase the product.
Why do people still believe a fingerprint is a good password? A thief might even be able to get a fingerprint from the iPhone itself.
That is no security at all.

Most probably because apple pay could be used with more convenience as no pin would be needed. If you lose your phone, I believe there is a place to delete the card info. IF you are fast enough before the hacker exploit the phone.

He's obviously trolling, unless he can sign a message with any of the addresses related to satoshi, he is trolling. Also, notice how he is a newbie. Satoshi is founder Cheesy. Also, Satoshi's account is locked by theymos, no way he can login unless he inform theymos.
7851  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how long will it take to make 1 bitcoin with $100 of hardware? on: January 30, 2015, 09:46:44 AM
Hi,
I am looking to start mining possibly and it seems pretty cool. If i were to buy 100 dollars of block erupters or however the most efficient way of doing it with a hundred dollars, how long would it take to get 1 bitcoin? this $100 does not include a computer to run the stuff on like a raspberry pie. from gh/s to bitcoins you have just for my own calculations? Thanks
You will never ROI, the price per gh for block erupters is very high, making it efficient for miners seeking for profits. You also need a usb hub to power the block erupter, dont forget about cooling and space. Buying a Antminer S4 would be a better idea than buying block erupters. Unless you are learning about bitcoin, donn't buy block erupters.
7852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt network fee on: January 30, 2015, 09:44:34 AM
Transaction with loads of inputs/outputs would incur a lot of fees, due to the size of the transaction. You can use coin control feature to exclude dust/low inputs to reduce the size of the transaction. To have a free transaction, the size must be maximum 999bytes to qualify. Also, the transaction fees have been reduced in V0.9. Upgrade the client would be one of the choices.

7854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bootstrap.dat - Bitcoin Core ? on: January 29, 2015, 01:52:14 PM
On all done now after 50 freezes finally got there's and got the coins or not using this client again too awkward.

So all good ? glad you got it sorted out , I guess the issue was your internet speed if you was downloading the Blockchain file directly from Bitcoin Core instead of downloading the torrent then adding it to Bitcoin Core Data directory . anyway what matters now that you got it done Grin
If you want a simplier and faster wallet , then simply use Electrum pretty simple and there is no Blockchain file needed to work.

~ Madness.
I suspect that the 'freezes' are actually the system verifying the authenticity of the blocks downloaded. Verification can take up some CPU processing power and freezes would be more noticeable on older computers, like the one he's using.
7855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick Noob Question ? on: January 29, 2015, 01:41:48 PM
Oh good, thank you. I was hoping that was the case but since it's digital (aka "magic internet money!") I wasn't 100% positive it wouldn't just evaporate back into a concept if the value/price dropped to 0. Again, I wasn't really asking whether it would drop to 0 but needed the scenario to frame the question that if it dropped to 0 and could go right back up shortly after, if I'd have to start over from "nothing" or I'd still have my bitcoins.

Now I feel much more comfortable that the prices can fall and it's not that huge of a deal because it'll go back up eventually.

Oh that does raise this question.....what would the price/value range be before the community/bitcoin users collective would call bitcoin over with and it isn't likely to go back up...need a red flag number to keep in mind if there is one.

Thanks!
The price is decided by the buyers and sellers of Bitcoin, when the demand was high, eg. Baidu started accepting Bitcoins, they went sky high. When Baidu stopped accepting Bitcoin, the price crashed, partly due to the hack of mtgox. It may crash the next day or it may not, there is a possibility of the price not recovering to the price before the crash. Never invest more than what you can lose. 1BTC left untouched in your wallet will always remain as 1 BTC, no one can touch or spend the BTC except the person who knows your private key.
7856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taylor Swift Twitter and Instagram Hacked: Private Photos For !Bitcoin! on: January 29, 2015, 01:23:47 PM
Does twitter even have 2fa? I have never seen it. And although I feel sorry for these celebs but they shouldn't be stupid enough to load nudes in Instagram in the first place.

Now, excuse me I have to go search for the... subject of my research... the project.. that I am currently working on  Lips sealed
Yep they have, https://blog.twitter.com/2013/getting-started-with-login-verification/. She denied the claims and I don't believe it would actually be true, they might just be trying to scam you.
7857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it really THAT bad right now? on: January 29, 2015, 01:17:28 PM
There is really no need for any panic, the price is always this volatile. The price may just rise or nose-dive to a crash in the future. No one should invest more than they can afford into Bitcoin as it isn't backed by anything and it is not backed by anyone.
7858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Pay and BTC on: January 29, 2015, 01:13:23 PM
If you want to use Apple Pay, you need to get their ridiculously overpriced phone or a apple watch(not yet released) etc. Not everyone have money to afford these, you can use a cheap $100 phone to use Bitcoin with much much lower fees. A card with paywave/paypass compatibility could easily be as convenient as apple pay.
7859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taylor Swift Twitter and Instagram Hacked: Private Photos For !Bitcoin! on: January 29, 2015, 01:03:40 PM
Could someone explain, how you hack a Twitter account?
I mean, you either hack Twitter(and would have access to all accounts or at least, the ones with bad passwords) or you try something on the user-site e.g. keylogger.
Is there a third way?
You could bruteforce the account, but Twitter hasn't learned its lesson if it thinks Taylor Swift forgot her password and tried to login 9123891723 times...
If the user enables two factor authentication, they can have lesser chances of getting into the account, unless the hackers manage to bypass the authentication too which seems unlikely.
7860  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost Bitcoins to mSIGNA?! on: January 29, 2015, 12:10:03 PM
~~
but that takes ages to get on my computer.
~~
if that is your problem you can use lightweight wallets, like multibit or electrum. or online wallets.
here is alternative client sections https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=37.0

i myself am using blockchain.info and Electrum
OP doesn't need to download blockchain as it does not download the whole full blockchain. It uses SPV technology which requires only the header to be downloaded, it just needs to have a node IP specified to connect to and download the headers. Slightly inconvenient, but you can specify the node you trust instead of letting it connecting to a random untrusted node.
