So how much can you make using martingale? It seems very little then.
I have tried a few runs with one satoshi as base. At lucky times, I made 200% the amount in one day while I have lost 0.001 within seconds on many other days. Your expected profit is and will be negative since House edge exist, people only use it because they think they can succeed.
Do you have any screen shots of you doing this? I think that it is very far fetched that you could have tippled your money using the martingale system.
Unfortunately, no. It was pretty long time ago. Impossible to even profit from this in a long run. In many occasions, I have got a 18 lose streak. It was probably just my luck.
I call BS on this as 200% profit means that you have thousands of wins prior to losing 18 in a row. Your odds of that happening are just not there
Its up to you to believe it or not, I left it there for a few days, from 0.001 to 0.002.

If you are looking to make money with BTC than i have to say that Getting paid for signature space is not enough. You can earn a little amount through signature space. I think mining is a better option.
Not true, mining have much much more risk than signature payment. For example, difficulty suddenly increases a lot, electrical cost suddenly increase, ASICs not getting delivered. It is possible you might never make ROI. Signature campaigns however only require you to post in this forum, there isn't much risk. AFAIK, Stunna 's primedice campaign pays 0.48 max, that is already quite some money.

8845  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are any ASIC miners making ROI anymore? on: July 06, 2014, 03:13:55 PM

Sure I'm not one of them but I'm about to buy an antminer in hopes to gain. should i buy or not?

Nope.
You should check a mining profitability calculator before buying any ASIC.

I found the calculator and found out  i can actually gain with a hash rate of 180 GH
Power cost per time frame    65.75 USD
Revenue per time frame    292.05 USD
Less power costs    226.31 USD
Difficulty increases about 10% every 10 days. You have to take that into account. You most probably didn't take that into account. After punching that into the calculator, it is never expected to ROI.

Agree, but assuming the revenue is getting closer and closer to electricity bills makes me wonder if the difficulty might halt for awhile.
Impossible, better and better ASICS are coming out now. The difficulty wouldn't stop increasing.

8849  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 06, 2014, 08:28:56 AM

Can you really make thousands with it?
I'm interested to also do this as I've seen threads buying signature space. and will they also be willing to pay for signatures to other business forums?
There are usually limits and they don't pay as much as thousands, I don't believe they would allow you to cash out thousands. Also, not much people can manage that much constructive posts.

I see no point in playing games with fixed -EV.
If you are talking about using betting systems to bet long term, yes you will lose. But for short runs like a few bets, it can work. There is no point for casinos to exist if there is fixed +EV.
8852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 05, 2014, 03:50:17 PM
It seems like I`m so far away.. from getting any btc going on lol.

Faucets suck too.

Yeah, faucets won't get you too far. As far as signature ads, there are accounts being bought/sold in the digital goods subforum. It's sort of frowned upon, but I get the feeling that more than a few newbies have gone that route.

I wouldn't suggest newbies to buy a "higher rank" account at all.
The account seller could get the accounts back at any time in the future (FYI: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0), and also the account could get negative trust and become worthless if the account sale is made public.
If the writing style changes, change in IP address or much active than before, it can be a sign of the account being stolen or bought. Not accurate though, but a likely sign. Newbies shouldn't buy that since they may not be able to get constructive post.
8853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Martingale System on: July 05, 2014, 03:42:17 PM

It starts well and ends terrible...that's usually how martingale works

But if it starts well, then why not stop and then do it again.

Build the balance in small increments or cash out each time so it adds up?

And eventually, you would just lose all your balance with a long losing streak.

Hence a good strategy is use martingale and stop while you are ahead.

It is possible, although slim to lose out in the short run, there is still a small risk to bust.

Cashing out or building it in small increments doesn't help at all,  it does not affect the variance and in some time, you will eventually bust.
8855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Uses for old Android phone? on: July 05, 2014, 02:04:18 PM
Android isn't the best in RNGs, they can have flaws, for older version of android. Based on my knowledge, most devices cannot support latest android version. Some custom Rom can also steal your data. If your device fails, you need some time to find another device to import the 2 factor data into it if you use it as a 2FA. Also, you need internet access to download those apps, your device is vulnerable when you connect it to the internet.

8857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poll : do you trust an exchange to hold your bitcoins ? on: July 05, 2014, 12:09:56 PM
this is my confused too
due to  mtgox , i can't trust  exchange    but i need  use  exchange  Huh Huh ???how can i do
Do not keep any or too much btc in the exchange, try using small amounts that you know you are going to use immediately and withdraw it afterwards.
8858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: July 05, 2014, 09:49:29 AM
I use multibit, makes life a lot easier. Bitcoin-Qt is a pain to add new wallets / prove keys without going through every single block which can take days if you're lucky that it doesn't crash. Hopefully multibit expands to other altcoins soon
Even though multibit is a light client, it does not offer the full features bitcoin-qt offers. There are different pros and cons for each of them, if you are just a regular user, only sending and receiving coins, multibit is recommended. If you require more features, bitcoin-qt is better.
8859  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poll : do you trust an exchange to hold your bitcoins ? on: July 05, 2014, 05:44:13 AM
Even if the operator is trusted, there may be flaws in the systems and can get hacked. More and more vulnerabilities are surfacing everyday, there may be a chance which the exchange can get hacked.
8860  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 04, 2014, 03:21:33 PM
Its bad practice i think, i got only sites that i like, noone paying me for this. Community should be community, not pursuers (posters) for profit
Well, it isn't a bad practice, many signature campaigns have limits which prevents spammers. They would also require constructive posts to qualify for a payout. There isn't much to earn from them and there is not much trusted campaigns around. I doubt there will be as much responses to discuss about things if there are no signature campaigns. People would most likely be motivated to post and contribute more to the community.
