Unless the rebel group have many billions of Dollars they will only be able to artificially support BCC/BCH for so long. Just dont sell BCC/BCH to them too low. Sell it higher to drain their funds quicker and dont place buy orders.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 31, 2017, 05:50:03 PM
Has anyone any idea how to actually backup these ERC20 tokens to a hardware wallet?  I was told that it could be done with a Trezor, but maybe Im not understanding how it will actually back up our tokens?   If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

What are you talking about? You are confusing Eth and Waves tokens. Afaik there is no hardware wallet support yet for Waves tokens. I also want the same thing. It is Waves lite client or exchange.

Dev can you please answer this:

1. Why did you choose a re-issuable token? This means you can issue more tokens in future if you want.
2. Why did you cancel the ICO? This means you will be handing out a bunch of free tokens and what is in it for you then?
3. If the ICO is cancelled, will you still be making a website, whitepaper, roadmap etc and when will that be?
4. Why should people buy the token today?
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 31, 2017, 05:07:19 PM
Bitcoin Cash trading now live at yobit, the market is jumping and falling right now in the range of 0.6 btc to 0.1 btc! volume is at 54BTC at the moment!

i dunno what they're selling,  but it ain't bitcoin cash. that does not exist yet. it must be a future still.

Yea something like that, deposits and withdrawal for BCC not working but if you buy it shows in your account and you can also sell

It is either an IOU or another coin with a similar name. Most probably an IOU that they created in advance as they probably sit on a lot of their own BTC and can sell in advance, taking the position that there will be a fork.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KEK] Kekcoin | PoS | MemeTech | Tipbot on: July 31, 2017, 05:03:13 PM
What do you think, if I just want to hold my KEK, is it ok to just keep my keys safe and don't install wallet at least not yet?

Yes that should be fine. Whenever you are ready to move the coins you can just install a wallet and import the private key. If you printed the page when generating the key pair then you have a paper wallet although it was briefly exposed to the Internet during creation.

Is the wallet even installing something on computer? I can't recall, I thought it just ran.

It installed Radium initially to register and manage the airdrop. Then you had to install the Kek wallet. It installs files to your roaming\kekcoin folder on a Windows PC.

Might be interested but I wanna ask a few things before I buy a coin

First off do we recieve the coins instantly or do we have to wait a certain period of time?

Another thing I want to know is what wallet would these tokens work in?

You can buy Waves on Bittrex and it will be in your Bittrex account instantly. You can install the Chrome Waves Lite client in your browser on your PC. Then you can move your coins from Bittrex to the lite client. All tokens issued on the Waves platform is accessable through the lite client. All these tokens are tied to a Waves address so you move them from one Waves address to another Waves address. You can also buy Waves on DEX which is the Waves platform distributed exchange. These coins will be in your lite wallet client immediately if purchased on DEX.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 31, 2017, 04:49:17 PM
BCH is a spinoff happening on aug 1st. It will never have anything to do with bitcoin (BTC).

Nothing to do with Bitcoin other than it is a fork of Bitcoin. A continuation of Bitcoin. An improvement of Bitcoin. It is arguably a smaller change to legacy Bitcoin than is The SegWit Omnibus Changeset. Accordingly, if Bitcoin Cash is an alt, then so is SegWit.

Of course, it will likely not exit the gate with the same level of support as legacy Bitcoin. So legacy Bitcoin will accordingly retain the mantle of 'The Bitcoin'.

However, Bitcoin Cash is inherently capable of supporting all the use cases that core threw overboard to satisfy their Raspberry Pi fetish. Bitcoin Cash thereby has the potential to grow to subsume legacy Bitcoin's value. In which case, positions will flip, and Bitcoin Cash would assume the throne as 'The Bitcoin'. In such an event, legacy Bitcoin will need to find a new name.

( Some have suggested Bitcoindashjr. XD )

There have been over 2000 unsuccessful attempts to "dethrone" Bitcoin. The only difference with BCC/BCH is that there is a bigger portion of sha miners that might mine it at the start. If after a while miners realize that it is not profitable to mine they will return to Bitcoin. It all depends how much the BCC/BCH miners have provided to absorb losses.

I'm trying to understand Waves a bit better. Could somebody give me a couple of real world situation where waves is the perfect coin to solve the problem?

Sorry if this is a newbie question, just wanted to learn more, and I sometimes find the amount of info overwhelming yet lacking sometimes... I need examples... I'm a simple man Cheesy

Dont say sorry.

A good use case is where a business wants to focus on the business side of things making use of tokens in their business model for one or other reason. The business wants to focus on business matters and does not want to worry about coding of wallets, issues with mining, looking after chains etc. With Waves those mundane matters are outsourced to the Waves platform where the Waves ecosystem takes care of it.
Yes I understand that aspect of the technology, but what could be a real world example of this? Are there any third parties already using waves in this way?

Also a noob question.. isn't ethereum in a sense doing the same thing?

In a way they are competing yes. This gives you a hint about future prospects for Waves. A real world example would be to issue a token for lets say a loyalty program like Incent. Several other coins are also in the process of swapping out to Waves tokens to remove the overhead. One such example is Dot.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: July 31, 2017, 04:03:26 PM
Seems like people here only care about bounties. How about caring about the actual development of the product instead of always looking for a free hand out?

People have a very valid concern. However I agree there should be a thread in the marketplace for bounty related matters and development matters posted here.

Is there prospects for taking on Apple for music/video distribution as well as devices that can compete with iTunes/iPhone/iPad/AppleTV ecosystem?

Cryptopia is a joke and bad ref for coin/token to be listed there!
I really dont knowwhat founders do with all money they rise!

Me too. Can't understand a $53mil project without a large exchange.

Its always happen when ico have no limit how much they crowd! They promise everything... deliver 20% what they promise!
With 50 + milion $ you can do 10 projects + as mgo if you are legit snd honest!
I am sure devs know that! Just see what stratis guys did 😜👍🏼

With mgo we will wait years...

Just be patient. Gaming is huge atm and gaming related tokens will most of the time do very well in the near future. I say it again, you will be glad that you could not sell your eMGO version of the token. The choice is made on your behalf so to speak.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: July 31, 2017, 03:39:21 PM
For me it looks like Stratis is losing the competition.
Too much of platforms with smart contracts functionality atm...
I am considering to sell. Don't believe it will stand up.
Or have it got a chance?

I would recommend that you hodl until at least Breeze is rolled out and functional. If you then still feel unhappy, by all means sell. I bet though that you would re-consider selling at that point.
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] MindPass - You are your password on: July 31, 2017, 03:08:44 PM
Are you serious that you want to interprate brain signals? It would be wonderful but I think this is far fetched. You can then just as well create a device for telepathy.

Do you already have an idea of how to do this or are you starting from scratch?

I think the team did well. Congrats. Now make it happen to advance the use of virtual currency in gaming.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Agenda Tokens ~~~ WAVES + UBQ on: July 31, 2017, 09:24:35 AM
Airdrop already taken place or not? Has anyone got a token? It would be nice to have more information from the developer.

I might be wrong, I did ask the dev, but received ni answer yet, but I think it is the same 700m that is for sale on DEX that will be distributed in the airdrop. At least the unsold portion. Remember there are 1 bn tokens of which the dev keeps 300m leaving 700m. There are 700m for sale on DEX therefore it has to be the same 700m for the aitdrop. I suspect the airdrop will only happen once the 700m tokens sell are withdrawn on DEX.

Maybe the dev can reply on this to clarify?
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KEK] Kekcoin | PoS | MemeTech | Tipbot on: July 31, 2017, 06:45:39 AM
An all caps public key should most probably be a valid key. It is just not feasible to determine what the corresponding private key is. Those that did not fix it and the funds was paid out to the all caps key are screwed imo and those coins are lost.

I am still thinking about what the best staking strategy is. Since it is a fixed reward, it makes sense to keep input blocks small. The only issue is it will take a looong tome for small blocks to strike. Any suggestions for optimal input block sizes?

Say business again

Business  Grin (Emphasis intended)

This is what it is all about imo to take the pain out of a business, that wants to function on the blockchain one way or another.

There is one positive that could come out of this. As people move their BCC to exchanges to dump it indicates "active" corresponding BTC. There will be interesting data analysis that can be done to understand BTC holdings better. Some BTC has for example been lost and those BCC will not move. Some BTC was thought to be lost and BCC movement will show it is not lost. Hidden BTC holdings could also be exposed via the first BCC movements.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: July 30, 2017, 07:55:33 PM
Ah...i just did what was suggested..

setgenerate true 25

Now the CPU is maxing at 100%.

Next Noob Question ^^" :

Can maxing the CPU do damage to the computer....if u leave it like that for a certain time period, for example?

(sorry...this should be the last noob question ^^"")

You are thinking about it the wrong way. Mining by nature maxes equipment and pushes it to the limits. You must make peace with the fact that your equipment will break along the way and it is part of the package. Dont do stupid things like overclocking too much, or messing with voltages unless you know what you are doing. In general your equipment should not break too soon but expect failure and if a hard drive or a CPU breaks replace it and carry on.

Roger that!

Thx for the heads up.

I think ill leave this coin to you guys in that case hehe.

I better stick to "simpleton" asic mining ^^""

Although...id still like to donate from time to time. Only reason i wanted to mine this.

Remember that you do not have to run your equipment at max. You can tone things down that wil put less strain on your equipment. The same principles go for GPU and ASIC mining btw.
