I also want to see the devs make a success of this technology. I see Stratis and Waves in the same category. Stratis devs have much less capital to work with though that will require more effort to optimally use the limited resources as the cash flow risk will be higher. Waves have the luxury to splurge cash on the other hand. Id like to see the technology being efficient and practical even though in the end it will just be one piece in the bigger picture addressing one necessary component. Most of the recent ICOs have a part to play and each is trying to contribute its own piece to the bigger picture, solving a block in the big picture chain. This is very important.

It is so that lots of coins are scams and most turn out to be nothing. There have been thousands of failures.  Sometimes there are new ideas that people come forward with and try to put it in a coin and even if such a coin fails there is a bit that can be used elsewhere even if it is just an idea or a trigger.

In order to pay dividends, a fund must first make money. If it does not, then it will have to pay "dividends" from its ICO fund, cannibalizing its own capital. In addition, everyone assumes the investments will only be made in high profit solid investments. There is no such thing in virtual currencies and everything is still extremely high risk venture capital. No fund manger can make winning investments all the time so it will also happen that investments are made in something that folds or an ICO where the dev runs away with the money.

It is therefore extremely unlikely that there will be a dividend so soon after ICO close. Unless of course it is not a dividend but a "dividend" paid out the ICO funds. It is too early in cryptoworld imo to make consistent winning investments.

Can FCN2.0 read the old FCN wallets?

Remember that he said he dumped the premine to raise funds for the project. Any rational person that executes this strategy will want maximum proceeds to use for development. In order to get maximum proceeds he needed to make it known in advance so that people can outbid each other. He kept quiet however and dumped down to a few satoshis.

The only rational explanation is that he placed his own buy orders at very low levels and bought the coins that only he knew he would dump at that point. Then there was an inexplicable pump where he sold his cheaply obtained coins for a hansome sum.

So yes, I believe him that he has no more coins. That is until he dumps the remaining premine coins into his own low orders again without warning.

There are probably certain conditions that must be met e.g. regulatory hoops to jump through in order for further listings to happen. While stakeholders are working on the conditions, it is pretty normal for parties to sign NDAs so that there is not huge price movements before the listings. The big exchanges would want the big volumes on their exchanges. The other issue could be the risk of insider trading. My bet would be that they are keeping things under wraps while the regulation gauntlet is being navigated. Once all the ticks are in place the other listings will follow.

I highly doubt that ocminer was part of it. I think he just genuinely saw some interesting developments in the code (including equihash) and supported it with a thread and pool. The choice of not having a BCT thread was part of the dev's strategy to create an "elite" atmosphere to make it look like the coin is something special. I think ocminer fell for it just like everyone else.

Things will normalize soon when moneysupply kicks in and the smoke disappears and people will see Zcash for what it is.

It is working for now because of a few unorthodox things with the launch approach (mystique of a separate forum, no BCT launch, dev silence on BCT, arranging with Polo for day one listing, quickly chasing price up to > 1 BTC per coin etc.) and a couple of technical features that are done differently that looks interesting. Under the hood however it is still directly competing with BTC on the BTC battleground and that is the reason why it will most probably fail just as the other 2000 attempts before it. Price and profit still seems the biggest discussion here and if price and profit are the driving factors for the community, then the coin is susceptible to the vulnerabilities of price and profit. As soon as the factors that influence price and profit starts to take effect e.g. number of coins in circulation or other coins that launch with a higher prospect of profit, the normal characteristics of a BTC competitor will take effect. The cancer will enter the coin and people will move on. It is also sad to see that people nevertheless buy in at such high prices.

I still don't see what the factor is why it would be a successful competitor to BTC. It does however play an important part in the evolution of virtual currencies as the new technology developed will be studied and incorporated in a next BTC competitor coin and so the cycle will continue.

Will you switch seamlessly from testnet to mainnet  or will the URL and ports change?

Will Iconomi just invest in virtual currencies or also in more established opportunities like property or blue chip companies? How will the investment team protect against things like dev teams that put up a realistic front and then disappear with ICO money. Or will they play the pumps and dumps in the market? Very few coins have a different graph than the quick initial pump and then gradual decline until coin death. How will Iconomi counter this and deliver the promised super profits.

Reason why I ask this is that I read a lot of tings about super profits in the thread that sounds too good to be true.
