1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: www.gamebet.gg Launches GameBet Coin (GBT) eSports -- SALE OVER!!! on: April 25, 2016, 12:15:17 PM
Whats the best way to hold my coins for a long time ( lets say 6 months ) without touching it ?
Can i hold them somewhere save ?

If you tuck your coins away you will not be able to earn stakes and over 6 months it will become quite a lot of coins you threw away. Remember that GBT is not % based staking so it does not help to close your wallet or store your wallet away and bring it online once a while to get back-pay. You will get 2.8 coins for a stake whether you have little weight or tons of weight. After 6 months your coins will instantaneously hit a stake but you will get 2.8 coins and the weight will reset.

If you do not care about the staking, you can do the following:
1. If a paper wallet is available, send the coins to the paper wallet.
2. Encrypt your wallet with a password and store it on 3 encrypted USB thumb drives. Store the 3 drives at 3 different locations. Securely delete your wallet.dat off your computer.
3. If you setup your wallet.dat with a strong password and open it for staking on a reasonably secure PC, you should be fine. Just use a separate clean PC for this and dont use a computer with all sorts of software on it that you surf the web with and dont type in the wallet password too much on this PC.

Bittrex, where are you?

Apparently they needed $5000 for listing

You mean $ 5,000 to get on Bittrex. For the creators of the coin it's not a very large sum . After investment they got $ 100k .

The $5k is not to get listed. It is to pay for the time and effort to do the required compliance work by the exchange. It is not guaranteed that a listing will follow. I can understand the requirement for the payment because no-one works for free and GBT is not just a run-of-the-mill coin. If it was just a payment for a listing it is a completely different matter.

There are more important things to do though atm than to pay money for another exchange listing e.g. UI development and marketing. Once GBT is on its feet and growing, then lesser important payments can be made. Once GBT is starting to become well known and people want to buy it, they will go to the exchanges where it is listed. What would be nice though, is if GBT is added as an option to pay for GG.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] They're here! TrollTokens POW/POS sha256 hybrid on: April 24, 2016, 05:58:44 AM
I shall officially endorse this on behalf of the Trolls Union #418 if the developer makes an open and honest attempt to remove irc.cpp from the wallet as well as add in additional "backup" seeds within net.cpp(around line 1235 in net.cpp would suffice) as soon as the resources come available.

Adopt a troll program TKN: PGQCDX9eZL9rzfzggWnVNcCEvL5ghteeq3

Actually, it's fairly simple to "undefine" the IRC server IP number and name in irc.cpp (Lines 227, 229), which then throws a "ThreadIRCSeed exited" message to the debug log, and jumps straight into using the PnSeed array via the ThreadOpenConnections thread, after trying the DNSSeeds, which I also undefined for the sake of this test.
No DNSSeeder and no IRC means zero connections unless of course PnSeeds is being used.

Is there anything in particular that you don't like in irc.cpp other than the fact that it connects to an IRC server.....or at least used to connect to an IRC server?

IRC has a bad reputation and causes reputational harm by association.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Human minable coin on: April 23, 2016, 10:19:19 PM
If everyone is as dumb as me with this game I cannot see the chain moving at all. I also ran a powerful 8 CPU x 8core on it with the inbuilt wallet for a while and did not even solve 1 block. Unless the key to the puzzle is posted here the coin is dead. No-one will want to wait for a day to have one or two blocks solved. The key should be similar to the solution for the Rubik cube. It would still not be possible to instamine because the CPU cannot follow that instruction easily and it will have to be applied by a human so I cannot see the harm in posting the key. Also, nowadays, no-one has the time to sit in front of a computer for a few hours/days to try and solve a game.

PS: Windows wallets crash when setgenerate is run. It works on Linux and that is where I ran the 64 cores.

What is the objective of the puzzle? Dont tell me it is to get everything green. What causes red pieces to go green and green pieces to go red?
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: www.gamebet.gg Launches GameBet Coin (GBT) eSports -- SALE OVER!!! on: April 21, 2016, 06:45:45 PM
I can't explain why I like to test things for bugs and find loop holes... but yet again I've done it again!

So there are lots of $0 pools right now so I decided what would happen if I bet on both teams? Well here are the results.

I'm the only person betting in these $0 pools. I bet on both teams, so that means i have 100% stake on each team right? If I bet 0.1 on each team, the total pool should be 0.2 right? Following?

But look at the results! It doesn't matter who wins, I'm going to turn that 0.1 on each team into 0.6. Haha! Smiley

I won't say how many games are affected... but you definitely wanna fix that asap guys. xoxo.

Wouldn't people be able to exploit this now that you made it public? It might be that the dev is not online for a few hours. If so then in this case it would have been better to disclose privately and go public after the fix just like responsible security researchers do in real life. Or is this just a cosmetic bug with no impact?
1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: www.gamebet.gg Launches GameBet Coin (GBT) eSports -- SALE OVER!!! on: April 21, 2016, 05:25:31 PM
Ahhhh I didn't get all my bets in and have to run out for the day now.

I'm really looking forward to a mobile wallet that can stake and a mobile app so we can bet on the go! Imagine how awesome that's going to be when we get it!

Good luck betting today everyone!

May the odds be ever in your favour. MOCKINGJAYYYYYY

I once read a case study about a business case that was done for building a bridge over a highway at a casino. The bridge was fancy with restaurants in it and the road over the top. The essence of the business case was that the bridge would have caused motorists to be at the slots a few minutes quicker and those few minutes on average would have generated enough revenue to pay for the bridge.

What I am saying is anything that enables users to be more active in using the site functionality will increase revenue and potentially substantially. A mobile app would be one such tool to increase activity and a higher priority application of funds.

I'm still here and will pay off existing bounties and donations to the community when needed. Yes, support has been very lackluster but Neptunium is still very premature in development and there's no serious problems.

It's a nonprofit project I've started but unfortunately have been too busy to maintain in the past month. My nodes and website is still running, and I'm still here. I'll dedicate today and tomorrow starting from around 3PM to around 12-3AM EST to address concerns, help out, and work on the block explorer.

@lulworm, you and anyone else is free to make your own developments and contributions to the project and take credit and potential profit for whatever you do. I will support any change the community supports.

Join our Freenode IRC at 6:00PM today to discuss any concerns and what we should focus on next.

Good to see you around.

6pm which timezone?

so cool the coin

A diamond in the rough.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Vcoin sha256 pow on: April 21, 2016, 07:05:02 AM
As different as chalk and cheese, as they say.
like the line Wink

- BTCU distro is an airdrop of a PoW-PoS hybrid (based on Novacoin), which is now in the final pure PoS phase
- VCoin is pure PoW (based on Bitcoin), has finished its primary mining distribution phase and rewards are now tx only

OP is confusing, i read r=1, forever more
Will have to check BE to see to be sure

Will add to the ASIC pool list if you post any know pools
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1428251.msg14444042#msg14444042

The main distribution phases are over yes but reward for VCoin is 1VCN per block.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: www.gamebet.gg Launches GameBet Coin (GBT) eSports -- SALE OVER!!! on: April 21, 2016, 03:12:19 AM
There is nothing wrong with Bittrex's request. Some application fees are just higher than others in line with the amount of work involved. It is just business. Coin management is not obliged to pay but they have to do a cost/benefit analysis and it it provides a positive NPV or more pros and than cons then go for it. Just discount into the risk the possibility that it seems that a listing is not guaranteed, it is the fee for investigating compliance matters.

You have to consider if a Bittrex listing is essential to the project at this point. Does liquidity mean anything for development right now? Liquidity is important if the dev team relies on proceeds of sale of GBT to fund the project. If the dev team relies on other funding for development that is not directly related to the price of GBT then an immediate listing on another exchange is not essential. If the $5k can be better invested in the project to provide a better user experience and take-up by users then that is a higher priority. The $5k can always be done in a months time when development has progressed and things have crystalized a bit more.

It is just a matter of prioritizing the application of funds. In essence, will the $5k investment have an immediate benefit for the project or will it just have and immediate benefit for the holders that just want to sell at a higher price?

just checked small tx staking - can't confirm minimum weight limit, it's staked after 1470 confs with weight=3+.
can't imagine what makes megadestruct61's wallet stake every tx exactly at weight=6.
unless he has some special wallet version (club edition  Grin)

Staked coins for Loco mature after 200 blocks after which they become available for use. For staking purposes however, coins mature only after 1440 blocks after which the weight start to increase.

Code:

    }

    return nWeight;
}

and

Code:
// ppcoin: total coin age spent in transaction, in the unit of coin-days.
// Only those coins meeting minimum age requirement counts. As those
// transactions not in main chain are not currently indexed so we
// might not find out about their coin age. Older transactions are

Can't sync coin for more than month. No reply from dev. If this will not be fixed we will have to remove coin from exchange without technical possibility for withdrawals.

Strange, my sync goes right.
I add the following lines in the fantom.conf configuration file

Code:
connect=84.2.34.97:31000
connect=82.200.205.30:31000
connect=141.105.66.136:31000
connect=91.218.245.239:31000
connect=158.255.1.8:31000
connect=158.255.1.9:31000

After synchronization is complete I turn off the purse, remove connections and run it again.
Further works fine.

Can you post the block count you are on as well as what OS flavor you are on and if it is 32bit or 64bit?

so sad I didn't stake twice when it was 275%. but i'm going to stake twice for the 205%.

How much LOCO do you guys have and when are some people planning on putting them on novaexchange?

I'm on the fence about holding them and letting them stake further because maybe they'll have no value since there's a lack of exchange / market for it right now.

What do you guys think?

Normally I would recommend exiting early on a hipos coin, however with this one there is the masternode dynamic that is also at play. Then there is also the fact that hipos tranches are just 2500 blocks. I think it would be good to keep enough for one masternode and "redistribute" the rest.

When Nightz is a happy man again, he will probably return with new fire. At least he can code himself which is more than what can be said about 99% of the other coins.

DEV , 3 days ago i got a PM from you...Give me your Adress and  tonight i will pay you....DEv is 3 night still waiting for my coin to be deposited! Are you play a game with me or what?
Thanks!

Your coins probably got lost in translation.  Cheesy

PS: You should have asked for a bet against the house of getting paid or not to be placed on the site and see what odds are put on it.

when i am solo mining this coin,why it keeps rejecting? Sad Sad

One if these:
1. You are on a forked chain. The network will reach consensus that your submissions are invalid and reject what you send.
2. Your latency is too high, typically caused by mining over wifi or if there is something that is causing a delay with your network packets. It could be for example that you have a lot of noise or a last mile issue, causing that when you sumit a result that someone elses result is received and accepted by the network first and yours are rejected.
3. Some other technical mixup in your wallet.dat folder.
4. A low resource situation. You might be running other resource intensive applications on the same PC with your mining wallet. This could cause that the PC struggles with processing found blocks and submitting late.

Solutions:

1 and 3. Delete everything in the folder where your wallet.dat is except your wallet.dat and Loco.conf and re-sync your wallet.
2. Check your ping response with a utility like traceroute or speedtest.net and make sure it is low, at least <50, preferrably <20. If on wifi switch to fixed line or else have your line checked out by a technitian.
4. Close other apps and/or restart your PC with the mining wallet on.

i don't need hashes, only size, it's pretty simple, and it's not about virus

I am sure you have heard it previously - size does not matter  Grin

pal, sorry for my french, but you dont' have a clue why i need it and still comment so much

It does not matter why you need a file size. You cannot get a file size by just looking at the number displayed. It gives you as much assurance as relying on the scanned picture of a wet signature on an electronic document and thinking that it has any weight of representing the signature of any of the parties even though it may appear that way.   Cheesy
