Unofficial WO TOR Router Report: Seem to be in a stable place with the LOOP channel, not even being half-drained so far, this time around. Cranked the fees pretty high, and I believe it's fair to say the fee's for just the LOOP channel alone have likely paid for the channel open/close costs many times over already.

Some transactions I routed earlier today.

Question for BobLawBlaw and all of the Wo

You are cruising for a date, wearing those glasses, if you get what I am trying to say.

Read the algos for autopilot.
That's when I decided to turn off autopilot entirely  Undecided
A quick skim of https://c-otto.de/ is close to what I was thinking for just setting fees.

Great link! Thank you very much for sharing.

But will you read it? Do you read the algorithms?

nice, I'm impressed. I guess SilentBob on #16 is your second node? Smiley

To be clear, absolutely no relation. No lies.
828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 12, 2021, 12:32:48 PM
So, in Lightning Node news, I've somehow landed my node at position #13 on the "BOS Score" list.

I think this a "Haha holy shit what have I done?!" sort of good situation. Not sure.

It means you are now the banker sucking the pennies out of dirt poor farmers pockets.
If that was the goal all along then yes you are winning.

Well, snark aside, I'm just saying, providing this liquidity after channel open and close costs is not free.

Nevermind loop fees for rebalancing.

Kinda trying not to unzip my pants here, and beat you across the face. Ya dig?
830  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 11, 2021, 08:10:25 PM
But one possible buzzkill.  I am pretty sure RTL shows fees as millisats.  In other words 243600 is 243.6 satoshis.

Yeah, column clearly notes "Fee (mSats)".

It feels very greedy setting a 0 base fee, and then a number of "2500" for the LOOP channel fee-rate mSats, just to keep it somewhat "stable" at this stage, and not bleed me dry.

On the other hand, is earning 243 sats on routing 243600 sats a fair trade? Should I reasonably charge more across the board? Is that too much? Not enough?

Not sure how these questions are answered, yet.

It's getting to the point where I want to reduce the number of times where I update all fees for all channels, then go back and re-micro manage each node - as I've already done.

Eg: WO nodes get really low fees. Other people get another level of standard fee. Big fish get charged a larger fee. Would dislike redoing that all to pull in more profit, without getting a sense of "what is fair to begin with" ?

Sorry, very confusing...
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 11, 2021, 01:48:23 PM
there for you have keep 49,752SATS extra on the bfx-lnd1 channel.

Aha! That was the missing link to my understanding. Thanks.

EG: Cranked the fees on my LOOP channel, and getting retarded fees.

Does this mean I'm winning?

Ok, so, retard Lightning Network question.

Some of the new routes I established yesterday are starting to see activity, after viewing the logs.

Is my understanding correct of the "Fee (mSats)" - that number is the profit I'm making on routing that transaction, or is that being completely misunderstood?

Yeah... Why Bob? I think very highly of Andreas and his work on educating the masses about Bitcoin.

He's got too much "paid salesperson" / Ron Popeil type vibe going on now.

Used Bitcoin to prop himself up, with the help of the community, and now he's like a JJG kinda guy who loves sniffing his own farts, and thinks he's too good for anyone who dares disagree with him. Has blocked a whole bunch of luminaries who dared call him out. Painted himself into a corner and did himself no favors. Viewed as a pariah.

Absolute narcissist case gone pathologically wrong. Started off altruistic, but once he got fame/retard-income-stream for a bit there - briefly - went to his head, and turned into an absolute Garbageman.

I belong to the Twitter Toxic Bitcorn Maxi Clan, so, that's where this observation is coming from.
835  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you do a DOS attack on your own node? Lightning Network Q&A on: October 10, 2021, 05:00:37 AM
Looks like Bob's not the only one having a few hiccups.
https://odysee.com/@aantonop:8/how-do-you-do-a-dos-attack-on-your-own:2

To be fair, @aantonop is a fucking retarded shill.

What happens when these channel states get ridiculously long?

Best I can tell, this is where the HTLC <number> stuff comes into play - or perhaps my understanding is absolutely retarded at the present time. Admitted to Rick this AM that getting back into it, and having the tools to drill down on accounting, is opening up an entire can of worms I was not exposed to - earlier - and starting to get a sense of the HTLC timeouts as I watch payments being routed through me?

Anyway, deeper still to go down the rabbit hole this time around. Back to meatspace for a bit...
837  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 09, 2021, 03:43:21 PM
I will receive hell for this, but...
I read Bob's comments about his Lightning Node, and I wonder...
Is a Lightning Node a Black Hole for corn?  Shocked
Sheeeeeit!
Remember, these are dee InterToobz, and this was meant as a semi-joke, but to also raise an ant-flag about LN's efficiency.

Not sure, but throwing more liquidity into it, and making respectable effort to shill this thread.

Screenshot for 69 lulz. Just opened channel 70, so, yeah, wanted to catch this shot before I build out the next routes.

Kinda pain in my dick. Using https://lnrouter.app/graph for visualization. Select my node, then look at the graph of what I'm NOT connected to, way on the opposite side of where I am situated.

Appreciate the visualization tools, but the back-and-forth copying/pasting to 1ML to further vet the node is a micromanagement issue I'm not enjoying.

Anyway, off to get ready for party time later.

Just loaded another coin onto my Umbrel node, to build out the "Official WO Router" (ABSOLUTE SARCASM) on TOR. Looking to establish some more routes.

OK. Just woke up from a nap, checked on my node - Holy crap the fees! Jesus Christ this is gonna take a while to resolve I guess. Explicitly setting minimum level for channel opens to save on fees.

Looking of a backlog guesstimate of at least 4-6 hours to possibly resolve crap at this rate?

Who knows... Anyway, looks like a volatile sideways weekend developing.

Situation: Honey badger doesn't give a fuck

Just loaded another coin onto my Umbrel node, to build out the "Official WO Router" (ABSOLUTE SARCASM) on TOR. Looking to establish some more routes.

It's fucking surreal if you stop and do the math, and I'm casually mentioning shit to Rick and other friends like "Yeah, sorta playing with over $200k USD liquidity on this retarded Bitcoin Lightning network thing. Doing all the math and accounting of routing logs, I should theoretically be in a profit position, but due to quantum state of channels... fuck my ass" kinda situation develops, and spirals out into wanton degeneracy, but that's another story...

Point is, overall, I appear to technically be in a profit situation, just routing the last few payments, that should have theoretically paid for ALL MY CHANNEL OPEN COSTS, but again, owing to quantum state of channels, cannot properly do accounting until I close channels, so...

Very frustrating.

Anyway, had a great week with Rick - First great week we've had together since recovering from COVID19, and him retiring. Getting used to this whole retirement thing together is very nice. Weekends have effectively ceased to have any day-to-day meaning to us now, as we're starting to go out and do things every day now, so... Life is good kinda deal.

Prepping to have friends over for a party tomorrow afternoon, to celebrate Rick's retirement.

Have a great one, friends.

All eyes on Canada!
Only vaccinated folks and unvaccinated younger than 12 will be allowed to travel from november by bus, train, airplane.

Sadly, one of the reasons I have vowed never to travel to Canada again, so long as the draconian and absolutely communist COVID-19 measures are in place.

Great fishing up there.
