why only first 1200 ppl? I think he got the figure wrong, i think it was over 3000 initial stakeholders created from the genesis block that he is referring to. |

Hey guys.. Im new to NEM, thinking about buying some, a big amount about 5-15 btc not decided how much yet. im doing my research now, can the knowledgeable NEM users that are here for tech not the price let me know why NEM is a good altcoin compared to the 500 other altcoins out there. i guess the community here know why the coin has been pumping, like any pump just before halving im a bit suspicious!! was there some genuine news that meant the coin would be effected directly which would mean demand for the coin would be up or is it just some pump group for halving trying to get more BTC. would really appreciate the experience NEM users letting me know what they think ? thank you   For a start, NEM is not an "altcoin" in other words, its been developed from ground up with no BTC code, its unique unlike all the copycat BTC/LTC clones out there. NEM has a very advanced blockchain designed for high transaction rates in future, the blockchain has already been independently tested by third parties and financial institutions are trailing this technology as we speak. There is much more than this that i could go on several pages, but basically the results speak for themselves and we are not driven by any hype, the proof is in the pudding. |

So as you new you have to know that investing on pump and xem is in pump phase is dangerous. To be honest there is not many coins with devs delivering something NEM fresh. Crypto like seasons if some coin is successful then you see spam of cheaper clones. Outcome of clones is usually bad as you see but technology pioneers are getting hit too. There is a lot of scams around so if something looks like scam smells like scam to good to be true ... yea this is scam. So beware. Every coin on every thread is going to bypass BTC ... every coin is going to moon. (1/10 is doing 20x rise but rest not, research why ) Most important rule is to not buy on pump, the higher coin is in market cap the higher chance that it will go down, look at coin market cap and you will see that going down part is much longer than going up. I agree, too many shitcoins out there, most will be gone in 12 months, too many BTC/LTC clones. Only unique projects that bring something new to the table will succeed long term, XEM is one of them and IMO has the highest chance out of most alternatives to BTC. We were in a pump phase, but i think if there was going to be a major dump we would have seen it already. We were seriously undervalued and off the radar for a while it seems (except Japan perhaps) so we are sitting at a realistic value now. I think that most of the pump likley came from Japan anyway on Poloniex, since so many were asking questions on the trollbox etc. HODL long term and accumulate while you can when its cheap, just put a small amount aside each week as your funds allow. In the future, you wont regret! |

Im not overly worried if we dont see a pump after ZAIF listing, but we should see more trading volume and a stable price around 1800-2000 sats i feel. Its not like the japanese have not been able to buy XEM on Poloniex up till now, and there is a good chance that alot of the volume has been from Japan there. The main advantage is that we will see more access direct in Japan for buyers, and thats a good thing. Lets hope they require multisig, as this will prevent any future Mt Gox scenario |

How can i recover password for lightwallet? (no sweat was just a test.)
Think very hard. That's it. You can't magically recover your password. You can however recover the wallet if you saved the private-key or exported it. The wallet is not lost, its just a copy wallet. Can I delete and reinstall same nem address? Yes you can if you have the private key saved |

NXT ae prices were pretty respectable. Stakes cost about 3-4 BTC if I remember rightly. Not a bad return but obviously not so great now. Pity those who sold in the sub 100 range.
My stake cost me 16K NXT, i think some may have got them even cheaper. |

That mean 1/10 people did not claim their xem and probably won't ever do it due to lost keys same goes to Satoshi 2m wallter with BTC just looks scary but this is just lost case. Those who wanted dump XEM they did it in this 2year period arleady. I think some of them are most likely lost but alot of them are just people holding.. I didn't touch my stake for a long long time either until the price started rising and i got a little paranoid because i didn't pay as much attention to security back when i had generated and submitted the private key as i do today. So just to be extra safe i moved my xem into another account with a private key i could be absolutely sure was safe. I'm sure a lot of people got into nem thinking as i do that this will be my one chance to make some real money and are absolutely prepared to hold at least until 1 xem = 1 usd. Im in that camp, but expect some weak hands to sell... I think most of them have sold by now. I can't imagine how the people who sold for couple hundred usd on nxt ae can live with themselves now. I agree. I was so tempted to sell last night, sometimes its better not to stare at the charts every day. Thing long term, thats what i tell myself. |

Just read a comment in the poloniex trollbox that there are more devs that have joined the ship with NEM, will be very interesting to see if there is an announcement... |

oh please god, let the price not go below 1500 again, so that this leech regrets after it hits 5k it wont and hes going to buy in again at a higher price lol. Most likely. Unless there hides some extreme greedyness  If sold at 2600 and today bought back at 1400, it would have been almost 100% profit. To what kind of trader that is not enough? I was very tempted to dump mine and then buy back after the drop, but its just too risky, even if it was a sharp rise, i feel i should play it safe and not be greedy! |

I harvested my largest block last night, presumably due to the high trading volume.
I got over 250 XEM from one block!
I know others have even harvested way more than that...

Will there be a XEM windows wallet? - non browser based
I believe so, but browser based makes it easier to run on any OS. the browser version sometimes is hard to sync OK, i have not had any issues with it, but the whole idea of supernodes is to allow you to run a lite wallet on your device and connect to a node on the network. This will be a huge step forward. |

I suspect a high amount of ETH dumpers are putting their funds into NXT and XEM after the DAO hack... I could believe this. Wish I had gotten in on the action earlier... I know what its like, ive missed out on many, but this seems like my lucky turn, all i know is i wish i could predict the markets. I think alot of weak hands will sell soon, but im in it for the long run, i predict the market cap will reach the same as BTC in a few years. |
