861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 29, 2014, 02:51:31 PM
Thats one of the most incoherent replies Ive ever seen. I cant tell whether your shilling for bytecoin or actually answering my point, care to rephrase?
I'm sorry if I mislead you and I don't want to look like a Bytecoin bot but I want to say that if we are talking about stability we should judge impartially. That is why I suggest you to use other altcoins (especially BCN) for drawing a true picture of how we can exchange altcoins to BTC. That is what I was talking about.

I appreciate the effort but unfortunately I think most criminals will need more than $2100 of daily volume to qualify as a potential liquidity vehicle for their operations.
862  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 29, 2014, 02:41:45 PM

It comes basically down to the question if they're only selling Bitcoin they actually do have. Is that even allowed to sell more Bitcoin than they actually own in this case?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive that they are only able to offer as much as they own. This is why I made the point about how they aren't going to be putting up their own coins so all etf coins will have to be bought from the general market.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 29, 2014, 02:31:52 PM

I have Radeon GPUs. Some days ago my son booght a PC with nvidia 780gtx. Can it be useful? (just curious).

Yes there is an Nividia miner, whether he'll not play COD, Battlefield etc to let you mine is another story all together Smiley
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 29, 2014, 01:51:47 PM
Whats btc's stability got to do with alts? Alts are insanely volatile.
Yeah, every altcoin is insanely volatile and maybe (just maybe) Monero is the most volatile. So if you want to talk about stability and bitcoin exchange you should don't forget about others altcoin like Bytecoin which is volatile too but using the Bytecoin will give you a real picture of how you can transfer your altcoin into Bitcoin.

Thats one of the most incoherent replies Ive ever seen. I cant tell whether your shilling for bytecoin or actually answering my point, care to rephrase?
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 01:17:35 PM

You don't see why the price would go up for an anon coin once it is open source?
Im not saying the price wouldn't go up, the question is from where to where. Label anyone whos not cheerleading for you a troll but this would be pretty terrible trolling if that was the intention.

No smart would be offload XMR, which you are bag holding, to buy DRK ;-)
You wish, check my postings I was mining XMR from the beggining and buying in otc for 0.0003 Smiley

Its not about XMR anyway, as said I hold DRK as a hedge, I'll be very happy myself if/when it goes up again.

What I think will "bump the price up" is the code being open sourced, which enables privacy appreciative merchants to accept it as a form of payment. When that happens, Darkcoin will be the first and only privacy coin that allows full adoption. Other coins still have a lot of work to do to reach that point. Darkcoin has the tech, easy usage, easy adoptability for merchants, and, a big and trusted USD exchange for merchants to convert to fiat, and buyers to buy with fiat - Bitfinex. Darkcoin is just so much ahead of the competition that it might very well just scoop up the whole market.

As I said, we are soon moving from the the speculation phase to the adoption phase.

Thanks for an intelligent response. As said we shall see and there's only one way to find out and atm the confidence shown by the market in those points doesn't seem to be strong.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 29, 2014, 12:57:54 PM
sounds nice but don't think many people would know about this without somebody telling them , shouldn't this little piece of info be in the OP and the monero website lol Cheesy

also please i want a high hashrate low fee pool and btw no other amd gpus miner except that claymore high fee under developed miner ? ...

There are plenty of pools with 1% fee how much lower do you need it ?!

No unfortunately the only amd miner is that one. You can run it with the nofee command though.
867  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 29, 2014, 12:51:19 PM
I hope Stunna keeps the rates similar to now, it's the only way to make BTC beyond peanuts. It obviously pays off for him since he can afford it. Being the highest paid is within itself a position of privilege and status that Primedice has and he must be getting shit tons of traffic to be able to pay us decent BTC for this. Stunna is keep doing God's work.

God's work is to run a bitcoin gambling casino and pay people to advertise? And it looks like the rates are going to be changing very soon. Probably wont be able to earn anywhere near what you can now but dont have to make as many posts with a fixed rate deal. Only time will tell so you'll have to wait until pd3.

What makes you think the rates will be no where near what they are now? Its a careful balance with fixed post deals as people will just have more accounts to collect payments from multiple accounts and still post around the same as with one account doing close to 400.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 12:48:49 PM
If people sell once the price rises after rc4, they'll only be selling to smart people who know the actual price rise is at rc5, coins change hands thats all.

Its always smart people though who are buying and idiots who are selling though isn't it Wink

Just like those idiots who sold at 0.025 and the smart people who bought them off them. I like that we have decided on the next narrative to get people to hold, rc4 was nothing anyways, rc5 is where its at.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 12:42:34 PM
a lot of people are waiting to releive the bag they are holding.

Somehow I doubt this - there has been a lot of selling during the last weeks, and by now most who are holding and haven't already sold are not looking to get rid of their coins. I would guess most people are instead waiting for the 10 DRK Darksend limit to be lifted and the code open sourced, so the real world usage can actually start, and we can start marketing it to merchants.

Or another way to look at is;

There has been lots of selling during the last weeks, the majority of which may have come from the early investors who are still securing x20+ profit. The others who were later to the party are still holding their bags after being told that rc4 will bump the price back to where they bought it. When this doesn't happen, as I suspect, they will just sell anywhere near their buy in point thus supressing the price. We don't need to argue as its unprovable (at least until rc4 comes out whenever that may be) but a lot of money is moving away from DRK, speculators may buy back in to ride the short pump that will probably come after rc4 release but I have huge doubts about getting anywhere near 0.027, nothing justifies a 3x price increase now.

I still hold some drk as a hedge but Im expecting it to dwindle.

ahh incase you havent noticed there are now 830 masternodes, there is more people actually locking their coins away...well the smart ones anyways.

To be expected when the price goes down. 830k out of 4.5 million cant stop the price decline. We shall see how it all plays out anyway there's only one way to know for sure.
870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 29, 2014, 12:35:22 PM
Wow discus fish looking to overtake Ghash soon!

Wow Ghash have moved a load of their mining power to discuss fish to make it look as though they don't own 50% Wink
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 12:29:41 PM
will it keeps going down  Huh

Expect it to keep going down.

No doubt someone will tell you to wait for rc4 and it will bounce back but everyones saying the same thing as a lot of people are waiting to releive the bag they are holding. Expect people to keep shouting about the idiots selling them all their drk, and so cheap! Funny a month or so ago it was the same narrative at 0.018, 0.016, 0.014 etc etc. They look like some expensive coins now! Attention spans are short in crypto and a bleeding market for two months mean a lot of people have moved on, marketing and hype only last so long.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 29, 2014, 12:24:37 PM
When will people learn that privacy doesn't attract criminals?
The criminals are already out there, they will do the bad things no matter if they have privacy or not.
Privacy is a human right and if we would have more privacy I believe the world would be a better place.

Yes, but altcoins are grest opportunity for criminals to hide their operations(in compare with fiat money)...

Do you realise that altcoins are one of the worst opportunities for criminals to hide their operations.

I cba to explain but I'll start with;

Terrible Liquidity
Insane Volatility
Incredibly Manipulated

But btc is stable enough...
Also, you can sell your btc without problems
In case organization(or peson) send fiat money to another organization.... banks and goverment structures are able to see it. So it is much more safety for criminals to use altcoins... they can buy drugs, weapon etc..

Whats btc's stability got to do with alts? Alts are insanely volatile.

This takes it back to the terrible liquidity point. Any criminal worth caring about will be using money in orders of magnitude more than the liquidity provided by any altcoin.

As a test, name me one altcoin that me as Mr Montana could accept for payment of my latest shipment then turn around and within a day or so sell the coin for the price I quoted. (that means no price movement and a large amount of liquidity at market price)
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 29, 2014, 12:18:33 PM
i like the concept but the name is kinda silly , idk i could be wrong maybe this is the next big thing in cryptos !!!

i will be mining it full force with my 6 ~ 7 kh/s, but i would like somebody to point me to a good reliable low fees pool because 2% mining fees on top of 5% dev fees for amd gpus is too high IMHO !

You want the first post to compare fees, try and pick one that donates to the devs as well.

Do you know where the name comes from? Just asking as you might not think it kinda silly if you did.

EDIT: beaten to it by smooth  Wink
874  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 29, 2014, 11:58:12 AM
what happens if there is no interest for the etf shares?

i hope so, since i expect that the most likely effect will be like the gold and silver ETFs on pm price.
if they will sell multiples in btc-promises of what they own it could drain lots of liquidity from the market

Could you elaborate, what happened there? Wouldn't a drained liquidity simply push the price up? Isn't that good?

It seems that gold paper promises amount to 100X+ the physical gold stock. You get that if you sell pieces of paper as gold-substitutes you push the price of the real thing lower, since you subtract demand from the real-thing's market.

I expect that the BTC ETFs will work exactly in the same way.

The thing to remember about the Winkl ETF is they own a lot of the underlying asset. They aren't going to sell their btc as part of the etf they will simply be buying more. Now if they hold a significant amount of BTC why would they want to keep the price of their investment down? Lets not forget gold vs btc we're talking about trillions vs a few billion.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 29, 2014, 11:43:18 AM
how much monero should i be expecting per day if i have around 6kh/s of dedicated miners ?!
^ <MoneroBot> With 6000 H/s you should get 5.11 XMR per Day
~ Myagui

but dwarfpool calc says 6 moneros not 5.1

They are only rough estimates anyway.

The amount you get per day will vary with the difficulty over the day and your luck.
876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bubble to occur late August/early September on: July 29, 2014, 11:42:07 AM
The train is back on track, everybody! Fasten your train-seatbelts and shovel in a few more doges! We need more steam!

I'm thinking there might be some concentrated supply coming in soon so yep the train will be back on track ^_^
All aboard the choo choo train

I'm actually a tad disappointed that we didn't take the chance to break through $600 again after rebounding from $570... But things aren't especially bad, either. Bullish.

True enough hoping that Asicminer is able to back up its claims and take a strong foothold in the hashrate again then pay out Bitcoin dividends
Scare the other miners a bit and what not and tighten the supply ^_^

Are you expecting a surge in Asicminer share prices ?
877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 29, 2014, 11:35:25 AM
I thought it will start going up but not happened. Maybe there is yet another dip left.

I'd settle down if I was you, Im fairly sure we will see more dips from here. How long and how low are the questions.
878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bubble to occur late August/early September on: July 29, 2014, 10:22:51 AM
Seems everybody is taking the summer off and we're going to stagnate for a while.

Good news- sideways

Bad news- price drops

I dont see any reasons why that will suddenly change.
879  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: July 29, 2014, 09:49:19 AM
Thats one of the things isnt it really, the statistics still show how unlikely you are to be in an air disaster, hence why systems such as parachutes just aren't developed.
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] rpietila Monero Economics thread on: July 29, 2014, 09:46:31 AM

True. I should also consider, Mr. 0039 holds perhaps 30,000 BTC and wants to hedge 1% in an altcoin. If he loses 300 BTC in the end, no big loss to him. But a small investment now could save him 3-5 years from now when Bitcoin is regulated up the ass and he wants to be liquid in the free money that is Monero!

Yep but he might not even get a chance at that price, some serious support has been built in front of it and the amount of XMR on sale is dwindling quickly. This has always been a problem in regards to whales diversifying as there just aren't enough coins for them to buy without moving the market significantly.
