Hey All

Having an issue where leonardo isn't showing trades, no blue buy icons, no sell icons and no trade history or open orders.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

If it remains an issue I suggest you delete the local trades db for whichever market you are on. For example on bittrex it is:

bittrex-trades.db

You can find it in the hidden .leonArdo folder in your home directory.

If you are on Windows it's something like

C:\Users\JonathanMaycock\.leonArdo

On macOS its

/Users/JonathanMaycock/.leonardo

And on Linux it's

/home/JonathanMaycock/.leonardo

Best wishes,
Jonathan

When leonArdo is available for Raspberry?

It would be so nice to have separate machine where it can run 24/7.

Any unix geeks here who could help them make this happen faster?

Does any one of you guys had a look at the up core/ or  similar x86 board?

http://www.up-board.org/

It is a little bit more expensive, but not far off.
It also features more cores and a x86 architecture. We haven't try it yet but has anyone of you played with the board yet?

All the best!

We need to divert resoures to this to get it built on the Pi architecture. Resources we just don't have at present.

Sorry. It will take a bit of time.

An expensive alternative for now is to run leonArdo on a VPS. Then you can even check in on how it's doing using your smart phone or tablet with Microsoft Remote Desktop.

Jonathan

How is the experience with Poloniex nowadays?

I can remember there were quite some problems, and working slowly, but are those things solved at this time?

And how does it compared to trading at Bittrex (for example)?

Nobody?

Perhaps nobody is using the leonArdo - Poloniex interface? Or perhaps it is better to ask this question in some other Forum category; this is a discussion primarily focused on leonArdo.

I'm afraid you're right about the leonArdo-Poloniex thing: (almost) nobody is using it. But the second point: the question aimed to LeonArdo used with Poloniex and comparing to using LeonArdo with Bittrex. So I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that.

I'm sorry brobbel, but how would you know who is using poloniex on leonArdo?

Due to the issues poloniex had, bittrex overtook it as the most popular exchange on leonArdo. But, poloniex remains our second most popular exchange and is very usable now.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hello Jonathan, I am a bot user and I look forward to your update. Leonardo is near to be perfect...

Thanks, we will be releasing an update soon!

In times Poloniex is under high load there can be issues with the API. This is an issue not soley related to leonArdo.
But currently most of the time trading on Poloniex is fine.

WEX.nz reappeared from the ashes, and seems now fully functional.  I'm impressed.

It all seems to be the other similar structure, only with another domain name.

Any change you can quickly adjust the previous API and re-enable it again?  (We would need to create new keys, though - the other keys could have been compromised, they said.)

I'm am a bit lost by your message here?

Can you send a request to support@marginsoftware.de

BTW It's nearly 1am here so I am hitting the hay after a very long day. Will be back at it tomorrow.

Take care,
Jonathan

Check the website, you will understand if you haven't closely followed the news.  Wink

Trading of coins has restarted, and so has the trading of tokens, at:  https://wex.nz/tokens
Currently, the prices are quite higher than elsewhere as, I believe, a good number of people are buying coins with the cash they have in order to withdraw.

I get you now!

Will look into it, but not sure how much work is involved yet.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Edit To be honest, I am not sure how much value this brings. We have been burned so many times by sites that disappeared. I will not lightly divert resources to Wex unless I'm sure that it has a future. Right now, that is very much up for question. We'll keep monitoring the situation.

I understand you on that, indeed.  That being said, my impression, by the fact that the site looks very similar (if not almost identical?) to the previous one is that they simply took the entire engine, and placed it on another domain name.  I hadn't looked at the API details, but I would be very surprised if they would have changed anything.  (Anyhow, re-creating an entire engine in just a few weeks, to launch on time, with all the high stakes (security and etc.) involved, would be very difficult, and the easiest path is indeed to just keep everything as it was.).
So I am under the impression that you would probably only need to change the domain name in the API calls, and that could be it.

That is the reason I was suggesting to add it:  The work/result ratio is excellent - little development work to do, and a big result (another exchange added).  Much better than adding another unrelated exchange.
I wouldn't have suggested it if it would have been to integrate from scratch with an entirely new API.

And regarding the reliability of this site, and the long-term prospects for it, I have to say that I consider this site to be among the most reliable of all exchanges.  If I would have to bet, I would bet that Poloniex or some other major exchange would disappear much before WEX does.

Bitfinex came back from giving a 35%(?) haircut to all its customers - and still hasn't explained in any satisfactory way what exactly happened ("Investigation pending", despite more than a year having passed.) - and Bitfinex is thriving again.

No one knows for sure what will happen in the future, but I wouldn't be surprised if they regain an important market share.  The Chinese exchanges closing at the end of the month also strongly support that possibility.

They are there since forever, they got hacked once way back in 2012, I think, made everyone whole again (no customer lost funds), they were put down recently, and instead of running away with a few hundred million dollars worth of customer's coins and funds, they choose to re-open despite all risks involved, and even did do within their announced time-frame.  Wow, just wow - I'm impressed...

We couldn't said the same thing of Cryptsy or many other exchanges, can't we?

Pretty much agree with everything you said. Thanks for your input.

Will talk to the guys on Monday about it.

Best wishes,
Jonathan
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] leonArdo - Bitcoin Trading Bot for Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitstamp, Bitfinex.. on: September 16, 2017, 11:27:14 AM
Hi everyone! New LeonArdo user here and I'm having a great experience with the bot thus far. I'm also glad to see such a responsive development team. I have used other commercial bots and am familiar with all the popular crypto bots. I would like to suggest some features that would improve the leonArdo experience even more.

1. The ability to set a percentage of BTC as the buy order. For example, instead of asking the bot to buy 0.55 NEO I would like to ask the bot to by .01 BTC worth of NEO. This makes it easier to manage the amount spent per buy and more closely aligns with traditional trading bankroll methods.

2. A Trend Watcher also needs to be added so that the bot is not buying a falling coin or selling too early. This is of critical importance. A way to incorporate this would be to add variables such as...

- Order history. This would be a user defined number of recent orders to archive. For example if the user selects 300 then the bot saves a rolling list of the last 300 completed orders and identifies an average price.

- Trend direction. This would be a user defined selection of the most recent order history and is compared against the order history to create an average price. So lets say the user selects 50, this would the average price of the last 50 orders.

- An option to turn on or off buying/selling based on trend.

So in this scenario, using the example numbers above, if the average price of the last 50 orders is lower than the average price of the last 300 orders the coin is in a downturn. And if the user has selected the option not to buy a coin in a downturn then the bot does not place an order to buy even if the price falls within the bands in Market Maker. The bot will then wait to see an upturn in price before placing an order.

3. A web server or gui that can be used on mobile devices.

Thanks for reading my feedback!

Thanks defvader for the very clear and detailed feature request list.

It really helps when you write so succinctly.

Will definitely be in the discussion for further updates and improvements!

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hello there, great software  Smiley.
I just want to know is Kraken supported? if not, when will it be supported?

Thanks.

Kraken was a nightmare we will be glad to see the back of.

We are right now testing it and hope to release it very very soon!

Whats a guy gotta do around here for somebody to take some money for a bot?

You could buy leonArdo like our other customers did using the website.

HURRAH HURRAH !!
I solved the problem with running the program !!!

Yeah man ... what did you do to get it running? Wink

Hacky

My computer name was in Cyrillic, but should the rules of programming in the Latin script, my programmer said it, I put a bot on your own dedicated server, where he stood up immediately and earned !
So the verdict is this !!!
Russian the user call your computer in Russian language !!!

Heh o.k. .. good to know! And yep, i told you in my message that i think it _might be_ a problem with using non-latin language settings, in this case, it was not just the system language setting but the name.

It's a bit complicated. Internet Hostnames, and the Domain Name System on it's own was _never_ intended to use and understand _anything but 7bit ASCII_. But the world has grown beyond that point, so we now have UTF and IDN (International Domain Names).

If you look up the latter, you can create some very ugly looking domains which will translate easily from this form (PunyCode # RFC 3492) to DNS "compatible" names.

But in the end, no one ever really thought about how to use native non-latin chars for hostnames.

So .. mhm .. yeah, it's a bit of a fault from the leonArdo devs, but not only from them but from a "bigger problem" at all.

Btw, for what reason does leonArdo need to know how the machine he is running on is called at all in the first place?

@Jonathan, can you maybe explain that to us? I'm somewhat very critical on such stuff, cuz it is a hint to some "phone home" functionality, which should not be needed at all, except to get the precious market data log you host.

A (bigger) bit of transparency on that would be great, if not necessary.... Wink

Regards,

hacky

Hi Hacky,

I was already in contact with Prescott2008 by mail.

Actually, leonArdo doesn't care what the machine name is!

To test this issue I switched my machine to Russian and gave it a Cyrillic name. I could run leonArdo as normal!  I am not sure why it didn't work for Prescott2008.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hi Ashen,

I like it and have added it to our ever growing feature list. We will discuss it within the team and I'll come back to you if we have any questions.

I dont know if this is possible or not but I would like to see this feature in Leonardo.

I would like to have the bot automatically stop after it completes the Limit sell that it created so I would like to see a checkbox like this "Stop BOT after completed sell"
I know that I can stop the bot anytime but that means that the limit sell in the active orders is no longer managed and it would be nice to have the bot manage it until its completed.

+1
I would like that too.

more precisely, to be able to stop the bot after X number of operations.  E.g., after "1" full cycle (2 operations; 1 buy, and 1 sell).

Good point guys. Yes, we should and will introduce that soon.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

It even seems to trigger the stop-loss while the market is moving up before it could have made more profit, is this some sort of bug or limit with the demo version?

I would like to buy but this Stop-loss issue is bugging me and making me rather wait till there is more stability.

It doesn't do this. Stop loss is never triggered when the "market is moving up".

Please provide the following details if you want to report an issue and send to support@marginsoftware.de

1) OS
2) Crash report if applicable
3) Description of what was happening (the more details the better). What markets/pairs were you loading or trading on?
4) Log from the offending currency pair (found in the hidden .leonArdo folder in your home directory)
5) Screenshot of situation if possible

Best wishes,
Jonathan

It was fairly consistent so I will reproduce the issue and send you all this info.

All sent, check it.

Thanks! Got your mail.

Well done. Great report.

Jonathan,

Are there any plans to reduce bandwidth usage of Leonardo?

It seems to me that it uses alot of data based on the monitoring of my computer.
Right now I have only 7 pairs open and it used about 20 MB in just 10 minutes or about 120MB/hour.

I think thats quite a bit of data and for folks that are on metered data plans it could be a problem.

There is no way to reduce the usage??

Right now no, except for limiting the number of pairs you follow. But sure, leonArdo pulls all orders and completed trades from the exchanges which can be a lot. We are moving towards using websockets which will reduced the bandwidth considerably.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hi All,

I am trying the demo version of Leonardo and saw this this trade happen and I would like to understand why it sold at a loss.

Based on the screenshot is it possible to explain why the sale was done at a loss??

A stop loss was triggered. See the configuration (relative stop loss) on the left side of the picture.
If you have any further questions just let us know!

 Rene

Maybe I am not understanding the settings for the stop loss fields but I had it set up at 5% so why did it trigger when the price was well higher than the 5% threshold?

And I just noticed that the same thing happened with the NEO Pair it sold at a loss as well i guess because of a stop loss too.
Why is this happening?

https://imgur.com/a/AKyiG

The sell order simply says it is of type Limit. Maybe a feature for future version to include Stop Loss Type sell order so that we can tell what caused the sell?

Actually, you are right. The stop loss shouldn't have triggered and it didn't!

The bot placed the order there because you set a negative Min Effective Gain. of -2.0%. This allows the bot to make a loss of up to 2% in the hope of making further gains. This particular sell made a loss of just over a percent.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

It makes sense. But is the bot supposed to stop? Because thats what happened?
But in the first picture for the ETH pair I didnt have the min gain % set up. What is the explanation for that one?

I can't explain what happened in the first image. It looks like the bot stopped a little after the sell went through. Is it possible the sell was a manual order that went through?

The bot is supposed to stop after a stop loss is triggered, but otherwise no.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hey everyone.

i had a few questions about leonardo:

1) is there a discord server or another means of customer discussion other than BTCtalk?
2) is the leonardo automated in the sense that if it buys and sells it will continue to do so if the parameters are met?  or is it more an aide for creating orders?
3) can leonardo self create orders based on criteria being met when it happens, as to not tie up currency on hopeful orders?

I hope these questions make sense, as I'm sort of new to trading.

Hi Dan,

Nice to have you with us.

There is a Slack channel: https://leonardough-slack.herokuapp.com

leonArdo's bots will continue to buy and sell forever until you stop the bot. But only with the amount give have given each bot to sell with. You can set up multiple bots on multiple pairs. Even on a single currency pair you can have many bots.

Everything is possible!

Let me know if you have any more questions.

You can ask here on the thread or send a mail to support@marginsoftware.de

Best wishes,
Jonathan
