There's no way an exchange could figure out all the merits of a coin correctly in only a day.
What about pure voting, without bribery?
Plus, one coin over two at mintpal is based on mintpal's choice. They implemented it hours after I mentionned an interesting coin (of which I don't even remember the name now, so it must not have been that interesting). That was back in first part of February when Mintpal was still young and unknown, before even the MINT pump.

Pure Voting would probably be a way for spammers to get their coin on an exchange. They'd make multiple accounts over and over, and vote until their coin is at the top which imo is worse than paying for votes. Also, you can still vote for free on Mintpal, just very limited to 1 free vote per day.

You need to have some trading volume to vote now so thats a good thing for mintpal. you cant have many votes from double accounts...But i agree. 1 vote per hour is stupid. 1 vote per day is better...

I really wish they would just contact us (dev.mc2@gmail.com or #monero-dev on freenode), as we're probably planning to integrate a lot of the same features as they are, for example database implementation.

lol, you are planning to integrate a lot of same features. Of course you are, you will do everything that bcn do, because you are copypasters.  but monero is absolutely useless - it is just a fork of bytecoin and its technology.

Also monero smells like scam because of its HUGE mine with trojans and GPU mining before official announce of GPU miners.
Just look at all cryptonote coins and you will see that monero is a sinking ship.

this is ducking awesome!!!
compiling right now to look at, looks like that is an announcement of brand new Cryptonote based cryptocurrency.

You look like a guy that hates copypasters Cheesy

Vielen Dank.

for example your contact form gets a 405 error, the price link pages looks pretty confusing, etc.

just let me know i can suck out the content and slap it into something nicer looking in a few hours that should hold you over.

i've done some of the websites for mastercoin which get pretty good conversions (50%+) on wallet downloads

i am trying to mine with lucas miner on the pool and i am getting stratum_recv_line failed.
You can't mine with cpuminer yet.

I thought so but the pool is suggesting it... So we go with simpleminer. Do i need to run it two times for 2 cores? And is there any link for boolberry simpleminer?

I am actually just compiling boolberry again so i guess i have to use that simpleminer...
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty for open source ByteCoin/Monero GUI on: June 07, 2014, 11:44:19 AM
Can you explain why I see the same number for my Balance as I do for Unconfirmed? Very confusing. How do I get my XMR to confirm? (I'm mining at moneropool.com)

In my WPF application, 'Balance' is called 'Spendable', so it isn't confusing at all. Currently, it is retrieved by using the 'refresh' or 'balance' command on the daemon (so whether it doesn't show the correct balance, it isn't our fault, but I have never seen it showing the balances wrong.

It's always great to have competition, as it makes products more perfect. From my side, I would happily agree to split the bounty between the developers of the most stable and easily usable wallets. There should be a voting at the 1st of July (?) of the best GUI, picked by the users.

The prizes could be the following ('x' is a variable which stands for the amount of the bounty, equally split into 8 parts):
1st place: 5 * x
2nd place: 2 * x
3rd place: 1 * x

Please give feedback about my idea! Smiley

Great suggestions. The terms will be a 5:2:1 bounty split to be decided on July 1st. We have 2610 XMR collected currently so that will be the prize pool (plus anything that may be contributed over June). The decision will be made by the bounty funders over an IRC discussion.

The end goal here is really to get something the community will use in the medium/long term, not just a coding contest that ends on July 1st. So the winning GUIs will be decided based both on the current state and on future viability as a cross-platform GUI. It's fine if a submission doesn't quite meet the second part - it's still eligible to receive part of the 5:2:1 prize pool.

Thank you for confirming my idea! I hope that all the contestants have faith in XMR with its totally anonymous transactions, so the lucky developers are not going to dump all their winnings, but wait with patience and spend them wisely. Smiley

EDIT: Guess what's coming up! Right, Monero Client now supports user configurations. The GUI for options has yet to be implemented, though...

EDIT #2: Also, I forgot to mention that there is also an About dialog implemented using the official Monero icon. Notice that the number of transactions are showing up correctly too. Wink

Great! Cheesy

Fact: Urea as a fertilizer accounts for about half the world's food production.

Fact: A modern Urea manufacturing facility like the one currently being built-in by and Indian firm in Canada costs 1.6 Billion USD: http://www.thehindu.com/business/Industry/iffco-gets-approval-to-set-up-16-bn-urea-plant-in-canada/article5928926.ece

Fact: China exports about 29 Billion USD worth of Urea fertilizer per year: http://www.profercy.com/2014/04/china-from-worlds-largest-urea-importer-to-largest-exporter/

Fact: food is important to everyone.

With Urea you can make cheap explosives. So with 1 block you can  like demolish a a few town blocks? I see a bright future for this coin... lol

Any reason for the price collapse (except supply and demand) ?

looking at the order book on polo I would assume just supply and demand. Buy support is down 20 BTC from the last time I looked (12 hours ish ago)

Its down 50BTC from 2 days ago i think....
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 06, 2014, 03:21:37 PM
I fully support this kind of thinking. Instead of planning the coin to live 2 weeks for a premine&pump or 2 months for a quickmine&pump, the plan to have a steady and slow emission (the slowness absurdly enough translates to "high inflation" when all the competition is instamined and has therefore a "low inflation" at the time when the coin is actually buyable by the users & investors) over 2 years is preferable to me, with the time well spent in developing functional and secure resources how to use it, and distribute it to the hands of BTC powerhouses.

I am not interested in jumping in to anything that does not have a realistic long-term chance of success. Monero has it, so it does not matter a squat what the price is during the following 6 months (except that if it goes down, I will buy more). When I started with BTC, the first thing it did after I bought at $3 was a drop to $2. No problem, I first sold at $200+ Smiley

...and now he is buying these kind of things :

How much XMR does this cost right now? Tongue
