861  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 03:27:09 PM
It looks like the chance is 1/10000, but i'm sure the chance is much more lower than 1/10000
I never heard or see anyone roll higher than 9994

I've played this site in past, but only got 4th place at most

Ok, that is on the Free Roll option per roll... and you can do that several times a day, so it improves your chances as you roll more.  Wink {Each roll rewards you..so it's not for nothing}

The true value comes in, when you play the lottery with your free roll payouts, because that increase your chances even more. { 1 of 10 prizes to be won }

Every time you use the free roll option, you also get 2 free entries into the lottery. I just used my free Satoshi's from one roll to buy 27 lottery tickets and I got 2 free tickets

for claiming from the faucet. That makes 29 Free lottery tickets, every time you use the faucet. So you spend no money to participate in a lottery.

This is actually more fun, than anything else.  Wink

Each roll has the same probability of rolling 10,000 - it's 1/10,000 or 0.0001%. That probability does not increase with each roll because each roll is independent and each roll is out of the same total amount of numbers (i.e,. 10,000).

I agree with you that it's more fun! And I didn't know that they give away free tickets if you buy some (although I'm not surprised at all). I also like how some people that win the prizes in the lottery don't have hundreds or thousands of tickets...some people win with just 40 tickets! Which makes me believe that anyone can really win the lottery.

This is definitely the most fun faucet I've participated in but i'll confess that I haven't played any others in months, so maybe something new has come along with better payouts and better probability to win top prizes.
862  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Could I Theoretically Roll 10000 in Freebitco.in? on: August 09, 2015, 02:54:10 PM
It's possible, but the chances is only 0.01%
My highest record about 9980  Sad

The probability (or chances as you put it) of rolling 10,000 is slightly more difficult then that. 1 / 10,000 is 0.0001%.

You should keep playing, you can win the 4th highest prize...others (including me) have!

Is anyone fro Freebitco.in cruising this Forum and can offer some insight on how many people have rolled the almighty 10,000?
863  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 06:31:50 AM
Hey, so for those of you that use the faucet Freebitco.in, has anyone rolled 10,000 to win the top prize?

I've rolled the 4th highest prize, currently at BTC0.00074261.

Has anyone won big in their lottery?

I'd love to know the top wins others have made. Especially since the sites stats imply that some people are getting some very fat payouts.

For those that scoff at faucets, we don't need you trolling here.

For those of you new to faucets I have a referral link in my profile if you're interested (I'll share winnings back).

I've been using freebitco.in since sept 2014 and so far my highest winning was also the  4th highest prize

And how many rolls do you have?

I have a few over 1200...a tad suspicious that no one here has gotten higher.

hi. i would like to know if i can have more than 1 wallet for bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin. and which are the best. i also would like that if the moderator could reply me. thanks

Hey serdar, welcome to the forum!

As you've heard from others, there are no limits on how many wallets you have. I do have some new information to add, here's a site to help you narrow down the list on what bitcoin wallet may be best based on your specific preferences: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Good luck to you and if you're looking to fill your new wallets with some free satoshis, check out my profile for a link to my favorite bitcoin faucet and lottery.

Cheers!
865  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 05:12:20 AM
I read the other thread from a year ago, no one there admitted to winning a prize higher than has been won on this thread...disappointing. But I DO wonder how long people played for. It's easy for people to try it for a month, not win big and give up. But you need more time than that to get a good sample size in.

One new thought I have, given that they have a lottery no and the lowest payout on the lottery is in the 150,000 satoshi range, would it make more sense to buy lottery tickets with a week's worth of faucet "earnings" to increase the payout level? (although not the probability)
866  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 04:37:07 AM
There's a similar thread posted last year June - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=655762.0. If you look at all the posts... No one ever rolled the number 10 000. I do think it's possible but it's just the matter of luck.

You're lucky to win 0.00074261 BTC from them. I only manage to roll the 5th highest price two time.

Hey, thanks for sharing the link to the other thread. I wasn't aware that there was a conversation about this from last June (in fact I may not have join this forum at that time.)

I definitely feel luck for hitting the relatively large or relatively small (depending on you perspective) prize. I also have over 1,000 rolls. In theory if someone had 10,000 rolls they should have one roll hitting 10,000.

I'd love to talk to someone who's hit large on this site...even if it was back in late 2012. One thing that's interesting about this faucet (and probably others) is that the payout rate changes with the price of bitcoin. The higher the price of bitcoin the lower the payout. So when bitcoin was trading at $200 the lowest payout was 1,000 satoshi. I know it's still dust, but it does increase incentive to play if you're a "roll and hodl" kind of person.
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Killer App is Money on: August 09, 2015, 03:45:41 AM
It is so perplexing to me that people keep saying "we don't see Bitcoin's killer app yet." This is such a ridiculous statement.

Bitcoin's first killer app is money.

How many new ideas go from a market cap of zero to $4 B in 6 years?!?! Answer: extremely few. If Bitcoin were a startup itself, it would already be well beyond "Unicorn" status.

Of course, the additional applications of Bitcoin and the Blockchain are endless, but it's first killer app is clearly already here, and 4,000,000,000 cash US dollars agree with that.

Who are these people that keep saying "we don't see Bitcoin's killer app yet"?

I'm only hearing the opposite - and debates about the currency vs. investment role it should play.
868  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 03:38:59 AM
only rolled a 9989 Sad

This is also the 4th highest prize.

So no one so far has won more than (current rates) ~74,000 satoshi.

Has anyone won in the lottery they established in the last 2 months? I like having the additional option to win. Their stats for the site are crazy, some people have one some serious coin but it must have happened when the price of bitcoin was significantly lower than it is today.
869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: where we can loan out btc? on: August 09, 2015, 02:43:30 AM
The most trustworthy bitcoin lending platforms are btcjam and bitcoinlendingclub. Btcjam pays up to 19.3% and bitcoin lending club around 12% interest. Be careful if you lend on btt, many scammers lend coins and never pay back.

Are these annual rates? Sounds like such a good deal it could be too good to be true! What's the default rate?
870  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 02:41:06 AM
Op, you seem like a reasonable man, and yet you really think 10.000 satoshi is worth something? You realize that opening post you wrote is worth probably more than 10 times 10.000 satoshis?
Please stop acting like faucets can give you anything more but dust. Only person who profit from faucets are creator and maybe referrals, thats it.

You've never been to this faucet, have you. You should check it out (there's a link in my profile.)

The roll or spin of numbers goes up to 10,000. If you hit 10,000 you win about 75% of a bitcoin, it's at BTC0.74 today for that top payout. Then there is a lottery to earn more each week, it's not bad!

You should do some research before blowing it off or making inaccurate comments, join us, check it out from my profile!

Elianite and m_ribbon, will you share any screenshots of he book once it comes together? Will this be hardback or softback? What are the dimensions of the book? I'm glad to see the list of reserved spots is growing...I might be a buyer soon (need to save up some 'coin!)

Good luck and congrats!

Hi, these questions may have been missed or maybe they've already been answered. Can you give me some insights or direct me to where they answers may be located?

Thanks and good luck!

873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the amount that every Bitcoiner should own ? on: August 08, 2015, 08:17:23 PM
10 is good.
at 10 000 USD in the next 5 years, it's a good "deal" ... use paper wallet to store safety.  Grin

In 5 years time 10 might make you a whale. If there's a few rallies then the price could go so high that almost nobody could afford to buy a whole Bitcoin. If they cost $10 or $50 thousand each then people will talk about how many sats they own, not how many Bitcoins they own.

If the price of a bitcoin was $50,000 each, 750 satoshi would be worth $0.375. SO the price needs to be higher than this still before people start talking about how many satoshi they have, but I get your point.

Someone previous said that the OP's question is like asking "how much stock should one person own?" It's a question that's different for everyone involved!

As a token "investment" I'd say everyone should own 1 bitcoin...but owning any is better than owning none, you don't need to have a certain amount.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn bitcoin by sharing your bandwidth on: August 08, 2015, 08:09:34 PM
A new project called BitMesh is aiming to make this ideal a reality,It basically pays people in Bitcoin for sharing their internet bandwidth

https://99bitcoins.com/earn-bitcoin-by-sharing-your-bandwidth/

This is what mining pools are, right? Sharing the capability of your computer (call it bandwith or computing power or whatever you want) for the purpose of combining forces with others and getting paid a regular rate or commission as a result.
875  Other / Politics & Society / Good Press for Consumer Awareness: Blockchain can bring consumer protection on: August 08, 2015, 07:13:00 PM
http://www.coindesk.com/consumers-research-blockchain-tech-will-boost-consumer-protection/

This is an interesting article (not surprising but) consumer groups are saying that blockchain technology can bring a boost to consumer protection. No shit!?!?! We all know this because the blockchain ensures the validity of all of our transactions. The cool thing is that consumer groups are realizing this value, and consumers will as well.

They're saying: Bitcoin technology is safe, provides protection!

Here's a bit more...With interest growing in bitcoin's blockchain and distributed ledger systems more broadly, industry events are increasingly focused on highlighting applications for the emerging technology beyond the world of finance.

This has included more time and investment dollars devoted to applications in fields such as identity and security that, while not explicitly financial, play an equally prominent role in the global transactions process. As further proof that interest in the technology is widening, Keynote 2015 dedicated a speaking slot to a less-frequently addressed area of impact of the technology – consumer protection.
876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where Earn for Bitcoins? on: August 08, 2015, 06:54:29 PM
Please, let post here real online services for earning Bitcoins,
that allow to earn about 0.1 - 1 Btc per day. Currently I investing own money
from main job, but how can I earn from online services?

Surveys about Bitcoin would be the best way to earn bitcoin. If you have one, post it on marketplace or goods/services. And if you conduct a survey please share with us the results...it's only fair given that we would be giving you our time and thoughts.

Good luck.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the Headlines: Rolling With the Punches on: August 08, 2015, 06:53:09 PM
The interesting thing is that most of the bad press isn't actually that bad and can easily be marginalized by mainstream celebrities and entrepreneurs discussing Bitcoin positively.

Mt. Gox and the Silk Road are footnotes that can be easily compared to situations that happen with all the time with fiat (how many drug, hit, sex transactions have happened using the US Dollar?!) So those bad press incidents can be discounted easily...also, Karpeles and Dread were pursued by the authorities, proving that bitcoin doesn't make it instantly easier to facilitate criminal activity. Online transactions are a lot easier to track than cash transactions.

I think it's great that Bitcoin is in the press, regardless of what that press may be for.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: let's tell the word that we love bitcoin . on: August 08, 2015, 06:48:07 PM
nice shirt but it takes more to bring BTC to mainstream  Smiley

A bunch of people acting as billboards doesn't hurt. The infrastructure for bitcoin exists, it's VERY easy for merchants to accept it as payment (both with technology choices, account/wallet choices, and liquidity to turn that bitcoin into fiat if they desire).

The growth of bitcoin use really comes down to awareness, making it less of a foreign idea. Getting people to know it and be comfortable with it...getting Bitcoin to become a "household name" as they say. Having a bunch of people walking around with a bitcoin logo on their t-shirt helps generate curiosity which generates awareness and eventually actual use.

P.S. Litecoin could use some awareness even more so than Bitcoin!
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: let's tell the word that we love bitcoin . on: August 08, 2015, 06:45:40 PM
let's make bitcoin more popular , let's make it official currency
support and participate in this campaign by visiting http://teespring.com/i-love-bitcoin and reserving your t-shirt to tell the world that you love bitcoin .

Is this your shirt or are you promoting for someone else? If it is your shirt, great! Great design, I like it. If it isn't your shirt and you're doing promotions, how much are you getting paid per shirt sold via this ad?

Finally, how many of these shirts have been sold so far?

Thanks.
880  Other / Politics & Society / Snowden being celebrated at a New York art festival on: August 08, 2015, 06:23:17 PM
http://news.yahoo.com/snowden-bust-kicks-off-york-art-festival-033431570.html

Ok, so they're not celebrating as much as having a bust of him at the New York art festival, but it does show how public opinion of Snowden has changed as his "whistleblowing" activity has provided positive change in the US National Security and Diplomatic actions.

Here's the starting text from the article: New York (AFP) - A cement bust of America's most-wanted whistleblower Edward Snowden, once famously confiscated by police, returned to public display in New York on Friday to kick off a street art festival.

The 100-pound (45-kilo) likeness stands proud on a plinth in Manhattan's tourist-clogged Little Italy neighborhood, to be guarded round the clock until the weekend Lo Man Art Festival closes.

"If any shenanigans begin they (volunteers) find our security guards and we make sure we keep everyone safe," says comedy manager Wayne Rada, who founded the festival and Little Italy Street Art Project.
