Another question. If you order, are they still shipping used/dirty hardware or are they new? Anyone receive an S5 lately?
Received 5 yesterday... only one had mild dust on the fins... One fan cable was a little bit burnt, weird.
"Brand New" units, folks ! ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902305.msg10713712#msg10713712 )

In all seriousness, Bitmain, please make an effort to stop lying to your customers in the future.

Could not find notes on the 2.7.1 firmware. Any idea what's new ? Running 2.6.14 on all my SP20's.
883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Been reading about a lot of dying sp20's on: July 02, 2015, 06:54:17 AM
8 units total. 2 have given me some problems recently, but nothing I haven't been able to resolve so far (purchased a replacement board from a user), although I think luck has a lot to do with it...

Spider sense is telling me two controller boards are starting to lose their marbles. One wasn't honoring the voltage settings. Set the limit to 150 on one of the loops, and watched it go past 175 and the temps start to rise, and one of the loops had an * beside the temperature. I'm betting that's how that one PCIE socket of mine burnt out; controller probably went nuts and gave it too much power, causing the cable to actually melt and cause the wires to snap.

EDIT: All running Corsair AX 1200 gold power supplies, and the one I fixed most recently with a replacement board is now running on an Antec 1300 plat, clocked at ~ 1.2TH/s
884  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PSA: cypherdoc is a paid shill, liar and probably epic scammer: HashFast affair on: July 02, 2015, 05:45:29 AM
Wow.  Nicely played cypherdoc!  No wonder you have such a high opinion of your own work; it really does command high price in the 'free market'.  And here I was dubious about that.  My bad.
Anyway, carry on pumping Hearn's XT project to take over Bitcoin Core and get it's exponential bloat (and likely coin tainting as well) baked into Bitcoin.  It would be rude to ask if you are formally shilling for them and if so how much you get paid so I'll just muse about it I guess.
I recognized cypherdoc was bad news back when I saw his rabid shilling for Hashfast. Bilking them out of 3k BTC ? That's just asinine.

886  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 loses connection - Burns itself to death on: July 01, 2015, 07:11:29 PM
Bitmain support emailed me with a link for a firmware they are currently putting through internal testing, that should resolve the overheating issue when the internet connection goes down.

I'm not brave enough to try out the firmware (My current S5's have been running fine and have added pull fans), but just a heads up for everyone looking for answers on this issue, it appears something should be officially released in short order.

I would rather not share the link for privacy reasons or feel responsible for inadvertently bricking someones unit.

"Soon".

Or get the smith1237 firmware! I got no problem of overheat with this firmware!  Grin
Could you please provide a link to the firmware ? A quick search did not reveal a link Sad

No issues here. I am noticing the shipping drop-down box does not populate unless I go back a page, and then forward to the page in my browser.

895  Other / Meta / Re: How does one get into default trust on: June 28, 2015, 11:56:22 PM
But if a newbie does this, how will they know who to trust and trade with? the more sensible thing to do would be to change from depth2 to depth 1
Manually look up the trust history for the person you are considering doing a deal with.
896  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL Monarch - Delivery Dates on: June 28, 2015, 07:35:09 PM
Of course BFL usually takes it to another level like calling you a pedophile or try to get you fired from your job.
proof, it is just another lie from bicknell who calls people shills and corrupt at random, but never came up with proof for all his calls when asked for, so try again
just read his post history, you will get the picture

Hey man. We miss you around these parts. What have you been up to lately ?

897  Other / Meta / Re: How does one get into default trust on: June 28, 2015, 07:21:02 PM
please explain, i have been reading all morning and still i dont know

You should not concern yourself with Default Trust at all.

In fact, the first thing you should do, is remove default trust from your profile, and start building your own trust list over time.

Mods here deleted 2 of my posts to bitpop because I used another language just like you did. Fucking absurd.

899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: June 28, 2015, 06:21:36 PM
Did you try to reduce power to all chips, reduce fan and see if fourth loop revitalizes itself.
It did happen to me upon similar situation.
I reduced power to the "burnt out" unit, and it's hashing with all loops running @ ~1.2TH/s, with quakefiend's replacement board.

I power cycled the second unit, with no changes to any voltage settings, and it came back up with all loops hashing. I'll keep an eye on it, and lower the voltages if/when the next time it decides to weird out on me.

TBH, I'm actually enjoying this troubleshooting Smiley Love how tweakable these Spondoolies rigs are.
