901  Economy / Service Discussion / How do you know if you've been tagged by a referral code? on: August 03, 2015, 06:51:57 AM
Is there a way to know if someone is getting paid referrals off my bitcoin-relate actions.

I know we can see when a link is a referral link, but how do I know if I've clicked on a referral link and my activity is paying someone money? Think of all the gambling or faucet sites you've clicked on, who's making money off of you? Who are you making money off of?

If we all have referrals and we've all been referred, we could all make money if we all got active - if you're a subscriber to a gambling site, a faucet, or a dice game...get active...maybe we'll all get some nice referral pay as a result!
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Stock Market crash coming in 2016 - What advice do we have? on: August 03, 2015, 06:46:09 AM
The Bears have been predicting this crash for a few years now, no?

What's the real reason this guy believes it will happen in 2016? Why will it take that long for the bottom to fall out?

I agree we're in for a pull back, we've been up and up for too long. However, this could be the effects of the Quantitative Easing being nearly halted last year. Growth is slow, but cautious...

If the market does fall out have some money in cash so you can buy in on the foundational companies, those that core to a working economy and have sound financials. A drop as your guy predicts is once in a lifetime and a fortune can be made on the return of all the sound companies that lose share price value as a consequence of he real break down in fundamentals.
903  Other / Meta / Re: My Activity Points on: August 03, 2015, 06:38:01 AM
Read sticky threads next time before asking dumb questions.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608

@Nas, read the thread posts before posting non-constructive, repetitive posts! (Bitstarz shouldn't count your post...)

@ the OP, The Forum makes the calculation of activity more complicated than it needs to be: Activity is the lesser of the number of days you've been active in the forum or your count of posts. To be considered active you need to make a post at least once every two weeks.

BUT, if you ever go inactive for a while your activity will catch up once you become active again and start posting again. Finally, if your account is ever suspended you won't earn activity and cannot catch up those lost days.
904  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk strategies on: August 03, 2015, 06:23:08 AM
i wanna ask you as experience or beginner about:

  • what's your participations strategies ?
  • how you manage your time here and how much time you spend ?
  • your posts are based about what and which your sources of informations ?
  • have you any problems with forum terms or rules ?

The first thing people should do is read the "unofficial list of Bitcointalk.org rules" here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Knowing those rules will keep you out of any trouble ad save you potential frustration learning the hard way

I enjoy seeing the things I'm interested in outside of bitcoin merge with the bitcoin community. I enjoy spending time here during my free time. It keeps me up-to-date on what people think about recent Bitcoin related news.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: August 03, 2015, 06:15:10 AM

As a bitcoiner, using BTC online is very common.  Have you ever used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods?  plz share your experience.   Wink

Money is real online just as much as it is face-to-face.

Cool story, I'm glad bitcoin provided another example of convenience for all of us to share.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNBC anchors are so oblivious to Bitcoin....LOL on: August 03, 2015, 05:44:06 AM
I can see the potential reason for their confusion, they were talking to a guy from Bitcoin Brands, which is some bitcoin related company, and could have mis-understood that Bitcoin Brands is not an entity that created Bitcoin.

Step away from all that you know about bitcoin for a moment and try to think what someone who's never heard of it would think if you said "some guy created a new form of currency, and you can convert your fiat for it, and spend it places." It would be easy for that someone to assume that the guy did this through his business or a corporation, after all why do most people go into anything related to business, investing, or currency? To make money. Obviously Satoshi's objectives were a lot more lofty than generating some revenue, but rather he wanted to change the world.

Perhaps the real tragedy is that more people don't believe that anyone can have an idea that can change the world...the immediate skepticism drives me crazy.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft's Bing Launches Bitcoin Rewards Sweepstakes on: August 03, 2015, 03:11:06 AM
So how do we participate in this sweepstakes? There's no link in the Coindesk article, there's no instruction in the graphic attached to one of the posts, etc.

Sounds like a great sweepstakes, I'd love to join, but I don't know how and I'm not a regular Bing user.

P.S...maybe this is a sign that I shouldn't be a Bing user...
908  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PHYSICAL COPY - A Complete Guide to Physical Bitcoins - 21 reserved on: August 02, 2015, 10:52:20 PM
All I can see here is a group of people with green trust scores. Do you have any offer for the one who wishes to buy more than one ?

The answer to your question is quoted below, it's the second post in this topic...

A 10% discount will be applied if you order more then one book due to shipping savings.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a lot of free bitcoins fast? on: August 02, 2015, 10:43:01 PM
slow down kid? rapid grows , early dies.easy come, easy go. so be strong , do strong , stay strong.first learn what is btc? what can you do?

I'm with this guy although I say it a bit differently: Bulls make money, bears make money, but pigs get slaughtered. "Earn free bitcoins fast" sounds like a pig move. If you're not willing to trade something for your earnings you're either not earning much, scamming someone, or being scammed.

Be careful out there!
910  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling VERY RARE UNCIRCULATED MS+ CONDITION COINS!! on: August 02, 2015, 10:33:38 PM
Also, How much is this worth? I'm not that into pennies so I'm not sure. http://prntscr.com/802wx1 and http://prntscr.com/802x6k

It's not a penny... it's just the mint token.....

I googled all of these coins. All sites said that these coins were worth 300$-2k+. I'm going by what you just told me to do, Which was research. I'm not lying nor scamming. So please stop saying that I'm "Scamming". Anyways, Still for sale. Do you have anything else negative to say? I showed you the quarters. Or are you done thread bashing?

Coins that are still in circulation (and without error) are worth their face value, nothing more. What websites from google told you that the coins you own were valued at $300-1000?!?!

Try to ignore the negativity here but you kind of set us up to think we'd be looking at 100 year old Morgan silver Dollars or something! Proof sets from the last $10 years aren't worth more than the cost the Mint sold them to you for.

You should try to sell these for the mint sales price to another person that wants to collect recent proof sets.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: August 02, 2015, 02:42:59 PM
God, a banking system would really have come in handy here...

Hahaha, this a really funny comment.

More funny today with the tally at BTC134632.37 or $37,697,063.60...It's amazing to know that this is the current value of all the bitcoin identified in this topic as lost.

It's also pointless to dwell on it...like thinking about how much gold has been thrown away, lost, or destroyed since the beginning of it's collection.

Knowing that a finite number of bitcoin will ever exist and understanding how much value people think bitcoin will be worth, do we all have a very serious duty to protect what we've mined, earned, or bought so as not to lose it? We're stewards of Satoshi's creation right? We shouldn't let it go to wast by forgetting wallets, losing keys, being careless - anyone else agree?

Great thread topic, I'm glad I don't have anything to contribute to the balance!
912  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gordon Duff calls John McCain the Father of ISIS on: August 02, 2015, 06:44:57 AM
ISIS has dozens of fathers. And John McCain is definitely one of them. In the 2012 and 2013, he was one of the masterminds in channeling the money and weaponry to various rebel groups (through the Saudis and the Qataris) in Syria. These rebel groups later transformed themselves in to the Islamic State. The money / weapon flow continued even after the Islamic State started massacring the religious minorities and the Shiites.

That's the consequence of trying to put order to chaos in a region of the world that is lead and ruled by tribes rather than governments. There's no loyalty and there's no predicting who will align with who in year to come. McCain was doing something in 2012 that at the time had likely zero implication what could have happened. Hell, he could have been getting played by these tribal leaders (most likely!)

What the US needs to do is let the people in the Middle East figure their shit out on their own for a while...remove the money...remove the forces...just keep a close watch and make sure the fighting doesn't venture outside of their backyard.
913  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gordon Duff calls John McCain the Father of ISIS on: August 02, 2015, 06:42:31 AM
Gordon Duff calls John McCain the Father of ISIS

Edit: Obama Slips Up: "We're Training ISIL"

"During his speech, Obama uttered the line, 'with the additional steps I ordered last month, we’re speeding up training of ISIL forces.'"

"Iraq"..."ISIL"...pretty similar. Seems very plausible the President, who's crazy fucking busy with 20 priorities going on at once, could have just mis-spoke. I mean he didn't even realize he said it which supports the fact that he may have been just going through the motions of a press briefing, reading notes, and trying to get through everything quickly.

I mean there's no way that that shit was written on the notes he was reading from, you know?

As for your John McCain comment...I have no comment. The US aided Afghani forces long ago which people say lead to Al Qaeda...
914  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Larry Nichols admitted that he murdered for the Clintons on: August 02, 2015, 06:35:11 AM

I only started 3 tonight, you're over-exaggerating. I didn't accuse anyone in this thread...I didn't really accuse anyone of anything, except maybe the US being a corporation, but a Republican said it on FOX news, so I don't think that counts.

As far as Larry, he stated that he murdered for the Clintons.... I said even if it wasn't true, which it may not be, it's odd he wasn't arrested, or questioned, etc.

I don't have an agenda. If no one finds the topics interesting, they'll fall down, no harm done. It only looks bad, tonight, because this place is so dead tonight and these topics didn't really fit together in one large post, lol.

Yeah, OK, started 3 tonight but I see 6 topics started by you on the first page of this board and 4 of them in the first ten lines...so let's agree that you've been busy tonight.

OK, no agenda just spreading controversial or shocking news, yes? That's fine, great.

The topics are very interesting, compelling. But the content in the topics are so dense that it's really tough to read everything and have a discussion about it. If you could summarize your point. OR the point of the article you find so compelling it would help many of us digest your thoughts and discuss them (or at a minimum think about them on our own.)

Just a thought...
915  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reject Beijing’s bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics on: August 02, 2015, 06:31:04 AM
Who will host the winter games next year?

Maybe South Africa or some subsaarian country?

(not even taking politics in consideration yet)

The next winter olympics is in 2018, South Korea.

@msc_de, this is very interesting, I love the graphics. What do you want us to do? If we believe in your cause, how can we get the word out? How can we express our voice or frustration or moral dedication or all of the above?

It's SO funny that Kazakhstan was the only other final candidate and the Beijing only won by 4 votes. And it SUCKS that Kazakhstan lost out by only 4 votes, seriously. Have any of you seen pictures of the proposed ski hill? It's like a dessert mountain! There's no snow on it and there's never any snow on it, what a waste.

There is a great article about the cost of the Olympics is going to leave us with increasingly fewer candidates.
916  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Larry Nichols admitted that he murdered for the Clintons on: August 02, 2015, 06:21:27 AM
MakingMoneyHoney, what's your agenda?

You've started more than 5 topics tonight (let alone other nights), all are accusing public figures or countries and some are conspiracy theory in nature.

What I can't sort out is what the common theme is for this assembly line of new topics from you. What's your agenda? What points are you trying to convey? What do you want to convince us of?

Maybe if you're just direct we could get a discussion going about whatever it is...

P.S.: It IS odd that the wikipedia entry for Larry Nichols bears NO mention of these accusations...either because they're absolutely not true or because someone's trying to keep Larry's record clean.
917  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Osama bin Laden's family dies in private plane crash in London on: August 02, 2015, 06:19:07 AM
Osama Bin Laden's stepmother and sister are thought to be among four people killed after a private jet owned by the family crashed into a fireball after overshooting a runway while trying to land outside London.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3181443/Plane-crashes-Hampshire-car-dealership.html

Osama Bin Laden is most notorious for plotting and implementing a terrorist plot to kill people and cause destruction using airplanes as the weapon.

His Step-mother, Sister, Brother and Father (according the article) have died in plane crashes...that's eerie. Granted, the father's death happened in the 60's and the brother's death happened in the 80's, but still. How can one family be surrounded by so much plane-related torture?

Perhaps Karma's a bitch...perhaps God's watching...perhaps I'm making links between things that just have no real connection to each other.

I can't help but think that it sounds like a curse.

That or planned suicides by the pilots for one reason or other (or tampering)
Someone paid them to kill themselves and compensates their next of kin survivors for doing the job, or to fail to maintain the plane properly but that is partially conspiracy.
Honestly it likely is just bad karma passing on there plus the fact that their family flies a lot more than the average person and is large enough to explain for variances that said my condolences to the family.

How often do you think these people travel? They don't travel as much as a frequent business traveler... and quite possibly much less. Poor plane maintenance might be the culprit, but it's the only sensible reason.

Plenty of business men and women travel weekly for work, commuting to other cities or even commuting to multiple cities in a single week for months and years on end. You or I NEVER hear about business travel commuters dying in plane crashes frequently? And especially not three separate crashes for the same family! And a common relative uses planes as a weapon to kill over 5,000 people...it's crazy!
918  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Sign Up on: August 02, 2015, 06:09:09 AM
$0.10!?!?!?

How many people did you get to sign up for this? How much money did you make in the referrals of people to sign up for a giveaway? How much is the giveaway giving away that you are getting entries for a dime for from us?

What a cheap scam, you insult us!
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The pizza and cheesy bread I just bought with a Domino's gift card from eGifter. on: August 02, 2015, 05:44:30 AM
Great to see that after 5 years someone still orders Pizza to pay with Bitcoin  Tongue

Technically 5 years ago the guy didn't order a pizza and pay with bitcoin, he paid a friend to order him a pizza for him and that friend paid with fiat. Clever gimmick that earned a nice nostalgic story for Bitcoin, but technically not really something that represented any significance in bitcoin adoption or progression in use.

I could pay you BTCxxx equal to the amount of my Federal taxes. Then you could pay my taxes. Does that mean that the Government accepted bitcoin for payment of taxes? No.

Now I want to eat pizza and cheesey breadsticks.
920  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just print dollars? on: August 02, 2015, 05:36:00 AM
Grin the good point of bitcoin ... is that you can print paper money if you want : https://www.bitaddress.org

and, it's real value !  Cheesy

You're right that bitcoin can't be printed when more is needed.

You're wrong that bitcoin has real value. The value is perceived because all of us place value upon it...just as we do fiat currency.

There is no tangible thing that supports the value of bitcoin, that can prove there is value to it.

There's no Gold, no Silver, no other tangible item that exists in the world...just the promise that only so much bitcoin can every be mined and that the validity of transactions and balances are verified by the community that uses it.
