901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should we do in the sideways market of Bitcoin? on: July 04, 2021, 11:02:06 AM
Most of the market's revenue is completed in a short period of time. Most of the time it is horizontal. The sideways market is actually the best time to stock up. Normally, at the end of a sideways market, you will always feel that the window period is too short. Short positions are very dangerous because they are really easy to miss. Be able to hold Bitcoin firmly, trade on the left, do not bet on trends, and do not choose timing. Hold the currency firmly.
True, now that the market is mostly trading sideways is a good time to keep accumulating once you have the funds to do so and I believe that this might also mean that the market must have already bottomed out since the last time we saw $29k+ and it is just steadily going sideways and we might also start to witness an uptrend in the coming months.
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Mining Cause Global Warming? on: July 04, 2021, 10:57:59 AM
I don't think so, global warming has been a problem for a really long time, it's just that bitcoin was able to have a really cool feat of large consumption of electricity and FUD spreaders just find that it fits their agenda that bitcoin could be a good scapegoat.
I agree with you that Global warming has been an issue since way back but we must understand that Bitcoin and even the Energy consumption is just a FUD to always bring the price down or to Hurt Bitcoin by people that don't want to see Bitcoin prosper because there have been reports showing that other sectors of the economy like Banking, even Christmas Lights consume more energy than Bitcoin mining so Bitcoin is not the problem of global warming.
903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any miner who have not sold any bitcoin from the beginning? on: July 02, 2021, 09:57:16 AM
all the projects that we hold, all the companies they build, and whatever their work definitely requires capital, in opening a new business, I am very sure the miners must sell a little bit of their bitcoin, to provide for their family, family and needs for themselves, They have to pay workers salaries, electricity bills etc..
I totally agree with you and also some if not all of the miners probably too out loans too to build their mining farms and they have to pay back those loans. So to me, I wouldn't believe that there are miners that would just be working for all these years and not even want to sell a bit of their mined Bitcoins to support self or family needs been if they never took out loans for such activity.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I feel uncomfortable if I don’t buy on: July 02, 2021, 09:49:32 AM
I started putting 1k into Bitcoin every time it drops by 5k since 60k. And I ran out of funds a little while ago.

The fact that I can’t buy this dip just makes me extremely uncomfortable.

It makes me feel shifty and nervous of the fluctuations. Whereas before I looked forward to it falling so I can just buy.

I guess this is the part where I wait.
That is usually one of the problems. Investors will keep saying the price is too high and they want the price to come down so that they can invest but at the end of the day when we actually have a dip in price, we have the same investors now been skeptical if they should buy in or not basically still hoping that the price will fall some more. If you believe in what you are investing in, then you wouldn't feel this way and also because most investors think of the immediate gains and not long time investment too.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with Bitcoin whenever you're able to? on: July 01, 2021, 12:47:34 PM
it all depends on each, whether to use bitcoin to buy daily necessities or not, but in my country no one wants to accept bitcoin in buying small items, but if in the future someone wants to accept bitcoin for small payment instruments , so in my own opinion I don't want to do that, I will still buy using fiat currency, because we all know bitcoin is a very valuable asset, so we will definitely lose, because it is a very valuable asset, we only use it for buy small things

I agree it depends on the situation and the rules of each country, with many countries still prohibiting using Bitcoin as a means of payment.
So not everyone uses Bitcoin to buy something, let alone buying cheap goods, it is not effective to pay with Bitcoin. I like you prefer to use
fiat to buy the things I need, so Bitcoin for me is just a digital asset that will provide profit in the future.
Likewise for me too. I have not really used Bitcoin to pay for anything directly even though I might want to do that if there are local retail stores that accept Bitcoin in my country which there's not at the moment.
I basically will like to keep my Bitcoin as an asset for long term investment instead of using it for daily purchases for now because I don't see myself in that position yet to be able to spend the what Holding I have of Bitcoin on daily purchases until such time I feel I have accumulated and wouldn't feel what I have spent directly as Bitcoin will not seem like a loss if the price appreciates.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey agree to talk about bitcoin at an event in July on: July 01, 2021, 12:28:46 PM
Any news involving the clown Musk have zero interest for me. The guy is only a manipulator narcissistic dude, his interests for me to get rich are zero as well so why should I care. I'm not that stupid to follow like the sheep. Next!
Thank you. I too don't really understand why Elon Musk is still been given this much attention about Bitcoin. We have and still have really Bitcoinist that have been in the space and have supported the ecosystem since the beginning that should be speaking on Bitcoin, not Elon musk that doesn't have anything to offer except ripping investors off. The more interviews he is granted, the more they make him relevant, and the more he keeps manipulating the market. I wish there is someone that can make him look stupid in one of these discussions he is having.
907  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is still so cheap? on: July 01, 2021, 11:55:04 AM
This is the only thing I don't understand right now. It is extremely cheap. The potential is huge, El Salvador goes all in BTC and people still don't have the eyes to see it. More countries will soon join in, people will regret it later for not buying but it's their choice. It's still so cheap and this is not normal!
People will always do what they want and what is expected. Even the older investors are mostly still thinking that the price of Bitcoin might still continue to dip hence some have not started to invest back heavily while the newbies to the space are definitely afraid to get into the market now that it doesn't seem like it has a clear direction yet. Investors will want to confirm that the market is in an uptrend again before they invest again been if the price will be a bit higher because most investors now are more concerned with the now profits instead of a long-time investment.
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After China, Now it's Mexico's Turn to Ban Crypto on: June 30, 2021, 12:19:38 PM
Mexico is a poor country and her activities in the crypto space are inconsequential. How many crypto traders and miners do we even have in that country to start with? I don't see any ban from that quarters becoming an issue for the industry. We're worried about animals with horns, the snail shows itself, so to say. Do snails have horns? Does Mexico have horns? Does she have any strong statement to make in this industry? Nah!

I agree, I don't think this Mexicos announcement on cryptocurrency Ban with regards to their Banking system will pull any weight towards the Bitcoin price. I see it as a tussle from the Government just wanting to show that they have not given the green light on any such financial transaction in the country and even if Ricardo Salinas Pliego is a  billionaire and owns a bank, they want to tell him he cannot unilaterally make that kind of decision in the country where there is a Government.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never sell your Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2021, 11:37:28 AM
I don't see the point of HODLing it. If everyone adopts that mindset, then Bitcoin simply wouldn't grow in the long term. How can you justify it as a currency if the value arises from its potential to supplement or otherwise replace the financial systems?
+1

This reminds me of a thing I often hear (especially from non-bitcoiners) in regard to those early adopters who spent  crazy amounts of BTC, like "look at that idiot pizza guy, if he saved those 10,000 BTC he would be millionaire now" not realizing that if those early adopters decided to just passively hold instead buying something and showing that bitcoin is money, we wouldn't be where we are now.

Regarding OP question, I spend BTC on the regular basis. Sometimes directly, sometimes via crypto debit card, but I do use it.
I really don't think he was an Idiot. We cannot say that everyone that held Bitcoin from back then actually 100% thought or knew that Bitcoin is going to be where it is today. We can call the Guys that Developed DogeCoin IDIOTS for not believing in what they developed and decided to dump their own development and now I hear they want to or have already bought back in their own Project  Grin

We must understand that Bitcoin is seen differently by different Investops as some have already pointed out and for me, if I can make out the market properly, I will sell high, buy low and continue to take profits in local fiat cos I don't really use Bitcoin for direct purchase.

910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee is dead, are his coins lost? on: June 30, 2021, 11:23:24 AM
Jhon McAfee has been one of the bigges figures involved in the crypto world and today he dies in Spanish Prison. I feel really bad for this news, rest in peace McAfee.

But someone has to ask it, what will happen with his cryptos, we can be sure he was holding a huge amount, so, let's keep an eye close to this topic.

We will always remember you as an awesome guy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKgf5PaBzyg

I believe issues like this have been discussed in this thread before and it is no different with the Late John McAfee RIP. I believe he must have shared the necessary information with his wife at least or a trusted family/friend should in case something bad happens and I saw him as a smart person that will not allow that to happen and I hope he was able to do share that with is loved on cos if not, it is just another lost asset of cryptocurrencies.
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All of a sudden they want to join crypto. on: June 29, 2021, 04:28:06 PM
You must be a Nigerian. i think that is the place where many are hustling to Join the crypto space because the current value of the countries currency is worthless. everyday the purchasing power of Naira keeps depriciating and price of goods keeps raising. also I think people are looking for alternative investment schemes and try as much as possible to avoid depending only on jobs.
So you really think this case is related to Nigeria? are you sure that if you do a currency ranking around the world, Nigeria have the most worthless currency? China is considered one if not the biggest country were people are involved in crypto but I don't suppose you are saying that their currency is worthless? A lot of people from around the world are getting into crypto right now and the biggest HODLers of crypto ain't even from Africa let alone Nigeria. You most have realize that, that section I highlighted cuts across even the Richest countries of the world and not just the only one you think.
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The First Bank In Mexico Is About to Start Accepting Bitcoin on: June 29, 2021, 06:00:17 AM
The news is good, as is all news of this style. Although in my case I would not deposit Bitcoin in a bank, you know, not your keys...

I wonder if banks accepting Bitcoin deposits are going to give any advantage, interest or anything. Banks that allow you to leave gold in a safe deposit box charge you for it but in return they give you more security than if you keep it at home. As for depositing Bitcoin, I don't see any advantage.

Just the question I'd wanted to ask. When he said, “Accepting Bitcoin” I wouldn't suppose he meant depositing Bitcoin because that's a no no. I want to believe he ment that the bank will start accepting Bitcoin transactions through the bank's like we know some government around the world did ban all Banking transactions the has to do with cryptocurrencies so this might be that such kind of transactions are now going to be accepted by the Bank plus maybe the bank wants to get into Bitcoin investment as one of their assets too.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it the right time to legalize Bitcoin in Bangladesh on: June 29, 2021, 05:49:50 AM
I think that anytime is the right time to legalize bitcoin, Bangladesh can benefit from this if they put taxes on cryptocurrency transactions happening in their country, imagine the magnitude of that legalization not to mention the influx of crypto industries that are going to invest in their country, crypto in my opinion doesn't attack any religion whatsoever so I think that it won't be a problem in any way.
I agree with what you said. The people/countries that got into cryptocurrencies early will be the ones that benefits the most from it. I believe most government are still resistant because of they think cryptocurrency will overtake the Fiat currency and it might disrupt their financial economy but as you said, I believe if cryptocurrency transactions where taxed in a way that won't be exploitative too, this can help boost the economy as more investors will get involved even from beyond the shores of the country.
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my bitcoin if I die today? on: June 28, 2021, 06:17:23 AM
If you die one day, you can give your wallet and private keys to your wife or children before then and teach them how to use them. Cryptocurrency will never disappear. You can rest assured that as long as you don't lose your wallet and private keys, you can get them back. Your future generations will still be able to use the bitcoin or other crypto assets in your wallet.
It is not a question of IF, we are all going to die one day and the question is what you should do before that time comes because if you don't before it happens, then it might be that your family, loved ones do not have access to your wallet because you never shared with them and your Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies will be lost forever as in stock in the wallet without access.
It is highly recommended that you share a copy of your saved access details, PW, PKs and so on with someone trusted in case of eventualities, I know I do.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin at new heights on: June 28, 2021, 05:37:16 AM
After the bottom of $28,000, now to $45,000, will it continue to rise
You probably should add some question mark because I don't think that you are declaring something but you are probably asking a question and to answer your question I presume, with a lot of thing going on that is manly negative on the market, I think that it's still unlikely that bitcoin is going to go back to 45k anytime soon.
I agree with you on this. For me I don't know how soon or quick that rise back to $45k Bitcoin will happen but I do have strong hope for a better price or even a new ATH before the end of 2021 which is basically my target because as you mentioned, there are still too much negative vibes (FUD) around Bitcoin but mostly once most of the miners leaving China can resettle in other countries with better atmosphere to Bitcoin mining and kick of again, it will be fine again.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: June 27, 2021, 04:04:02 PM
We still understand that even up till now people get scared of investing in Bitcoin which Could be considered the safest of them all let alone Altcoins but that said, Ethereum, BNB more recently Polkadot, Cardano ADA and some more have become investors favourite ALTs to invest in for a longer period. It shouldn't be a question of safety but when is the right time to invest so that you can make the best out of your investment because at the end of the day, all crypto investment are of high risk.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still thinks that crypto is manipulation free? on: June 27, 2021, 03:48:17 PM
There is no such thing as always going up. In such a case, no one will lose money in the crypto money market and on the contrary, they will get rich. Or vice versa, the current money circulates in the market and nobody can move forward. I don't know if bear season has started, but it will come one way or another. The winner in this business will always be those who collect from the bottom and sell on the rise with patience.
I like it that you mentioned Patients. That is the key word. Where ever you get into the market which we understand some Investors bought in at ATH, they need patients and wait for the market to get back up but when that is going to be is the question, hence the patients.
Manipulation is sure for this market and besides, as you mentioned, we shouldn't expect the market to always go up without even a correction even if the market wasn't manipulated though it will always be manipulated by those that can.
918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The right time is now! on: June 27, 2021, 01:54:24 PM
Now that the dropping season has begun, it is needless to say that now is the right time to buy crypto coins. Although in choosing what to buy, especially if it is your first time buying, research is definitely a must. And it is also important to set the bounded time of investing in such, to also determine when to sell.
simple way and no need to do some research wen we want invest in crypto market only buy on top 10 coinmarketcap, which is believed have good product developtment and usecase for cypto market. simple example is bnb , eth , solana , matic and many other.
Even if all the Altcoins listed are a good buy, most times you might not be able to invest in all of them and even if you are able to invest in all of them, you might want to invest difference percentage of your portfolio to each and all this requires some level of researching each project even if they are all good.
I don't believe that because a coins/token is in the top 10 coinmarketcap means 100% guarantee, are you sure we have all the too 10 cryptocurrencies from 2017 still at the top 10 position now?
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL...until when? on: June 26, 2021, 08:09:55 AM
For me,  Basically, it all depends on when I invested and how much profits I have accumulated from that time and if there is still potential for the market to continue to rise, that is, are we in a bull market or not? If my investment was really from a lower price and the market for that coin/token has gone up quite significantly, then I know I have to take profits from my investments and if the market is in a bull trend, I might hodl on for a bit but I will always take profits. I don't see HODLing through Bulls and Bears without taking profits as a wise option.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will other countries adopt Bitcoin as legal tender after El Salvador's recent mo on: June 26, 2021, 08:02:41 AM
El Salvador became the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. In a time where Fiat currencies are devaluing because of inflation, this is a pretty smart move. It's no secret that cryptocurrencies are becoming extremely popular in third-world countries. If this keeps up, Bitcoin may be able to destroy Fiat in its entirety.

Now, it's only a matter of time before other countries follow suit in adopting Bitcoin as legal tender. It's yet the time where a developed country hasn't adopted Bitcoin as legal tender. The United States, The United Kingdom, and other powerful countries still rely on Fiat. Imagine what will happen if they decide to abandon Fiat in favor of Bitcoin. It would decentralize the global economy.

Do you think other countries will follow El Salvador's decision of adopting Bitcoin as legal tender? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley
I believe while other third world countries will likely follow in the El Salvadors step of adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender simply because of trying to break out of this financial burden of IMF/World Bank, it will be a bit more difficult for the more developed countries that you mentioned like the United States, The United Kingdom, and other powerful countries to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender, this means they are losing their stand in terms of world economic power because if every country has adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender, who will play the Boss?
