901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countdown to mtgox new ATH (it will be an mtgox only ATH) on: August 18, 2013, 08:27:43 AM
Are there still U.S. dollars in that system?  That's a mistake.
902  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin MineField - 10%-2300% winings, fully automated, with cool technologies:) on: August 18, 2013, 07:32:34 AM
hey, bitcoin daemon on the server got too old, I'm upgrading it,
it will take time to sync with the blockchain, but your btc is safe, the service will be online in a few hours, sorry about this.

I thought this site was down for good.  Fun, simple gambling game but the house edge seems rather high.
903  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: August 18, 2013, 07:20:42 AM
Is there a way to see individual balance of all addresses in a wallet?
edit: just saw this question asked elsewhere, it's not available.
904  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 18, 2013, 07:12:43 AM
We have 1000-1500 unique visits per day, this is 6 times more than just-dice, didn't hear anyone bring it up with them.

That's the 2nd attack from you I've seen this evening.  Are you upset about something Just-Dice did?

Our visitor counts:

Quote
  1377 2013-08-06
   1312 2013-08-07
   1176 2013-08-08
   1147 2013-08-09
   1027 2013-08-10
   1105 2013-08-11

1000-1500 unique visits per day.  About 1 times more than you!  Wink

According to Worth of web:

Casinobit:

Just-Dice:

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't...

This is kind of pathetic along with the other problems we're seeing.
905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: >>>>>[Poll] [Contest] Dailybit.net Logo Contest Vote for the winner. <<<<< on: August 18, 2013, 07:02:03 AM
I voted for (2)Kruncha, think that looks good.
906  Economy / Gambling / Re: Taking bets that casinobit is a ponzi on: August 18, 2013, 02:52:14 AM
Y'all still up for the bet? 15BTC for 3 months is a little low, I will bet 30BTC that I won't scam for a month, it will be a nice addition to my monthly salary, if you are still up for more then I will also bet for month 2 & 3 after that.

Honestly I dont think he is meaning to run a ponzi scheme, I really think he does not understand what he's doing and when its to late he is either going to have to shut down or put out major BTC to make everyone whole again.

That's hard to believe.  The whole thing feels like a big troll, I hate 0 fee transactions.
907  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitArena | Online Bitcoin Arena | 48 Hour 0% House Edge promotion! on: August 18, 2013, 02:46:27 AM
0% house edge Smiley

Seems more reasonable.  Is this site still maintained by the OP or just have others promoting it?
908  Economy / Gambling / Casinobit.net - just 'Bugs' or Suspicious activity? on: August 18, 2013, 02:16:49 AM
Here's what I've observed from Casinobit.net:

25 confirmations required before investing usually never more than 6 is required often 1 or 2, no sound reasoning behind this.
Withdrawals are being sent with 0 fees, may take a day or more to confirm, this is foolish.
Withdrawal button itself doesn't work correctly.
Site is very buggy, many times lucky just to get it to load.
Investing option is poorly done and was being calculated wrong for some time.

Considering all of these problems together this is not a coincidence.
909  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 17, 2013, 03:47:05 PM
Everything is buggy right now, trying to load and keep hearing the godfather and when I try to withdraw some the bar moves but then the balance stays the same.
Never been able to withdraw with Chromium. Work with Firefox after 10-15 try.

It isn't browser specific, we have some minor issues with the server sided withdraw script constructing invalid transactions occasionally, PM me and I will take care of your withdraw if you're having issues.

PMed per withdraw

same

Site is a bit strange.  Very buggy, and along with the no fee transactions?  Says invested is calculated as a percent of bankroll, and recalculated with new deposits.  But it looks like it may have not been recalculating the % with new deposits explaining the above posts.  With thread titles like "How to double your BTC in a week" ...
910  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 17, 2013, 03:05:52 PM

As all of you have noticed, this site have a quite high return of investment with a very short period of time, whilst it have a very low amount of traffic and transaction. As the database of CasinoBit.net is kinda public, I have calculated the transaction sum in the past 24 hours, ~250BTC. Thus the raked amount is 7.42BTC (2.9% for European Roulette)

That's fail by the way, this isn't poker.  Profit could be considerably higher or lower.

911  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: August 17, 2013, 01:07:37 PM
Almost all of the alt-coins out there are going to be a waste of time.  They're being created to take advantage of people who get super excited about different things and then get pumped and dumped.

Be careful about wasting time with too many alt coins.

Be careful about downloading files, seems like there's plenty of wallet stealers around hidden as alt coin miners.
Seen some more of this recently, so wanted to highlight the point.

Here's some good info from later in the thread:
1) Don't just trust the status of a member, anyone can write 500 posts and be a hero member in a short period. This just means that he invested some time on his membership. He can always decide that a profitable scam will be a good payment for his time.
2) Never deal with anyone without doing a search in the forum with his nickname, in order to check if he has scam accusations.
3) Ask for his coin address and always search it on blockchain.info or www.cryptocoinexplorer.com to verify if his address has the amounts he is claiming.
4) Be very suspicious about proposals well under market price or if he accepts your proposal under market price with no negotiation.
5) Look for the reputation of the member (his successful trades, in the form of vouches from the other party on the deal).
6) Even if he has some reputation, never send all the money in one transfer: send one first very small tranche (0.1 btc might be a good start) and wait for his payment. Send a second little higher tranche and wait again, etc. Small increments, because he might decide to pay you the first and second, to scam a bigger tranche. Always suspect if he doesn't accept to trade in small tranches.
7) If he has no reputation (including most cases when he is a newbie or a Jr.), even small tranches are a risk. Better use an escrow system, like the one of bitmit.net, or a trusted member, or you might need to send over 10 very small tranches. It can be annoying, but loosing your money will be more.
8] For big amounts always use an escrow system, unless the member has an excellent reputation.

Since this thread is a sticky, I decided to post this here. Any moderator or member feel free to move, copy or improve these rules at will.

I'm surprised some of these still have the value that they do.  There's more and more appearing each day, and no real success to speak of.
912  Other / Off-topic / Re: Awesome ad: "Triple your bitcoin" on: August 17, 2013, 01:02:08 PM
Bitcointalk is running this ad:

Here's what it links to:
https://www.bitmit.net/item/15000/?ref=6004 (promises to pay 3BTC in 3 years for 1BTC today)
Pretty much all there's to say.  Stay classy, Bitcointalk.

What else is new.  Just sounds like some of the loan requests in here.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sudden rise in Bitcoin transaction numbers - any theories why? on: August 17, 2013, 12:56:23 PM
Well Russia Today had a positive article for bitcoin but not sure of the impact

Can you provide a link?  How popular is the newspaper in question?
914  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin gambling...casino, sports betting, poker, etc on: August 17, 2013, 12:51:54 PM
I have a friend who loves online poker but got shut out of it when the USA cracked down on it...they made it next to impossible to get your USD in and out of the poker websites.

But bitcoin seems IDEALLY designed for this is and all other kinds of gambling.  It is easy to get your money in and out of the gambling site, once you have bitcoin to begin with.

I hear people talk about that Satoshidice site and it doesn't even really look like a casino gambling type of site.  Are there any proper ones out there using bitcoin and if not, then why not?

I've got to think this will eventually be a HUGE market that could even dwarf the Silk Road...and lead to more people wanting bitcoins and higher prices over time...more demand for the same supply.

There's a few.  Sports betting has gotten more popular lately also.  Look for provably fair gambling with regular bitcoin casino's.
915  Economy / Economics / Re: Daily Transaction Volume is Nearing Record - What gives? on: August 17, 2013, 12:43:54 PM
Gambling sites make up the bulk of transactions, far more than any exchange. Maybe today's a popular day to blow your money.

Could be.  Sports gambling with Bitcoin appears to be growing rapidly lately.
916  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 17, 2013, 12:17:58 PM
So withdraw has been sitting on zero confirms for the past 7/8 hours.   Bit odd.   The whole thing is a bit clunky.

I think there is something bug and its not working ok I also try but nothing happening

This is most likely being done on purpose, along with the whole 25 confirmations for "security" thing.
917  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 16, 2013, 10:31:22 PM
I've tested out the betting with deposit here a bit.  It seems you have to rush if you want to get multiple bets on one roll.  Would be nice if you could queue several bets and then release them as live when you're done picking.  Also with the current interface it's not easy to bet an amount of your choosing.
918  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: How to double your BTC in a week on: August 16, 2013, 10:15:01 PM
i like the idea of the site, but "1/25 confirmations, please wait for all the confirmation in order to invest." 25 confirmations  Shocked a bit too much imo.

What's with the 25 confirmation, and everyone doubling or more their money?  Did this site change ownership recently?  It's not out of the question for account to be sold with webpage.  Kind of reminds me of that mining united  now, but let's see what happens.  Maybe just trying to strongly discourage divesting.

That wouldn't make sense though since you can divest and not wait for 25 confirmations.
Obviously.  Consider that if they divest it's commonly to withdraw.

920  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Coinbase really that much cheaper than Mtgox? on: August 16, 2013, 02:27:34 PM
Thank you for your responses.

So now that the Mtgox price can't be considered anything resembling the 'real' value of Bitcoin, what (in your opinion) is the most reliable exchange price to use? Something that I can track on bitcoincharts.com ?

Any of the various other popular exchanges are fairly close in price.
