921  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 25, 2022, 04:57:49 AM
I see a lot of great Casinos and Sports Betting platforms here that doesn't really have great brand name but have excellent functionalities and quality designs. While some ( not so many) do have both great designs,  functionality and perfect brand name, so many majority simply don't. So, I was wondering. If I'm going to spend so much money to build a great gambling platform, why not just spend extra little more to acquire a great name? After all, nothing is greater in business than your brand equity.

What do you think? I'd like to understand the mindset of some gambling operators and start ups. What do you consider to be the most important in your gambling startup? Great name or site functionality or both?

-snip-
I don't think having a "perfect brand name" matters. As long as it can provide good service and has functionality that makes gambling experience better, everything is good. The name will itself become a "perfect brand" as more people starts to play and enjoy the features. A casino might have a perfect name, but if it doesn't have any good design or functionality, I doubt anyone would play. By the way, I don't think you are allowed to promote a signature in your post.
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The average joe would never accept bitcoin as means of payment due to tx fees on: May 25, 2022, 02:26:24 AM
I believe that transaction fees and losing your wallet or getting hacked and not receiving any reimbursement is a serious archilies heel preventing mass adoption for bitcoin.

In many poor countries people use cash as means of payment and no extra fees is levied. If each and every single transaction is levied fees, then people wont spend as much as they spend with cash. I mean if you even transfer from one wallet to another you are leived fees.

The so called lightning network defense is not prudent as in lightning network the sellers ids is being broadcasted to everyone.

bitcoin will only be like gold aka store of value.
You keep your fiat money in your "wallet". There is a chance you can get robbed on the street or lose your wallet. Does that mean you will stop using your fiat money? You have to keep your wallet safe. The same way, you have to protect your crypto wallet. If you follow the basic security steps and don't be stupid, no once can hack your wallet. If you store your crypto wallet properly and back up all the required things, you won't lose your wallet.

Do you know all the transactions you do with your credit card, you have to pay the fee? The merchant usually pays the payment processing fee which is usually 0.5% to 1.5% of the total amount. Compare this with your btc transaction fee and you will see that the fee is actually much more cheaper.
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 24, 2022, 04:27:12 AM
-snip-
Argentina is about to launch bitcoin education in their curriculum,  this is going to take place in 40 High schools with about 4,000 students.  This is  an Interesting news many  bitcoiners have been waiting for,  I think this won't just end in Argentina,  other countries will take this same good  within a short time.

Argentina  is the second highest  bitcoin  adopter in Latin America,  I the reason for the innovation is to make students  know  the importance of bitcoin. The economy of Argentina is suffering in the hands of hyperinflation.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/business/bitcoin-education-launches-in-argentina-for-high-schools
Are they going to teach them about blockchain or how to invest in bitcoin and those stuffs? This was inevitable but a good thing though. At least the kids will know something about bitcoin and how they work. This will make them aware of the pros and cons of current fiat system vs crypto currencies. And true. It won't end with Argentina, more countries will eventually follow them and more schools will teach those kids about bitcoin. The earlier they start, the better.
924  Economy / Gambling / Re: Themed Provably Fair Casinos on: May 19, 2022, 12:45:50 AM
What exactly do you mean by themed provably fair casino? I guess most of the casinos that offer in house games try to be provably fair. I don't know why anyone would want to play in a casino where their own games are not provably fair. This would only allow the casino to manipulate the bet results. So yeah, not only me but everyone would prefer a provably fair casino over anything else.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Squid Game still listed ? on: May 19, 2022, 12:20:18 AM
I was shocked to find this project is still listed on CoinGecko and even doing well relative to other projects, up 5% today. The question is why ? Wasn't this proven to be a scam ?
Meanwhile LUNA is worth even less than Squid Game token, I think it's pretty much over for LUNA if it can't even beat Squid Game..  Cry
I doubt any top centralized exchange would keep squidgame token listed. If people are still trading, then they are most likely trading using a decentralized exchange. The market cap of the coin is so small that anyone can actually manipulate the price. Luna might worth less than squid game but in terms of marketcap, I bet Luna is higher. So Luna actually worth more than squid game. It doesn't has to beat Squid Game. I doubt luna will ever recover.
926  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Bet: A wider Array of Altcoins are being usef on: May 13, 2022, 01:57:08 AM
1. They are choosing crypto currencies over fiat to gamble because it is just very easy to add your funds and withdraw it. Almost instant with no delays. No risk of your funds getting stuck or rejected by the bank or high transaction fees.

2. They prefer altcoins because altcoins are comparatively faster when it comes to deposit. Almost instant confirmation and a very low fee allows them to start gambling as soon as they send the funds.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am curious about bounties on: May 12, 2022, 11:55:32 PM
I am looking to try out a bounty campaign using signature but I don't see anyone worth my time right now, I do have a question about this, does it make more sense to promote projects that are already trading over those that are not listed on exchange yet? I see so many that aren't listed like whsiperMSG, Valore, Elysian Finance, they don't look like they will be hitting an exchange any time soon.

What and what makes you promote a project?.
You would be only wasting your time if you join a random project and they pay using their own token. But the time you will receive the tokens and be able to sell, they will worth peanuts. Almost nothing. If they pay in some well known currency, then yeah, you can take it. Not sure what you think it is "not worth your time". Just add it to the signature, and make contribute to the forum by making posts as usual. You don't lose anything here.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 12, 2022, 11:27:59 PM
Pound or pence? Because others are saying pound. But nonetheless, turning 60 pound or 60 pence to almost more than 150k pound is a lot. Had to be very lucky accurately predict all those 16 match. Or he has some sort of insider information.
-snip-
Actually, I guess luck purely can't explain this event, there must be something else! Or are these fake news?
-snip-
Or this. A fake news to gain users. Clickbait article to increase traffic to their website. And if they are advertising something in the article, then yes, it is actually fake. But who knows. He might be a lucky guy who studied all the games and took the chance. But then, why only bet 60 pence/pound?
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin and crypto "could destroy your life", go to rehab hehehe on: May 11, 2022, 04:51:10 AM
Lol, this guy thinks investing in crypto currency is gambling, hence he thought it would be good to confess to his priest about it. It is only gambling when you invest in some random shitcoin and expect to get rich over night. He got addicted because he was reading or seeing how people were making quick money from investing in shitcoin (actually reading articles that are paid to shill for shitcoins) and he probably was able to make some.

Yes, it could destroy your life if you don't know what you are doing.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where is the crypto market heading now on: May 11, 2022, 04:47:04 AM
All those three questions you asked, no one can answer them accurately. But here is what I think:

1. Sure, Ape can might be able to beat dogecoin based on marketcap, but high chance it won't stay above doge coin for very long. Once it goes above doge, it will crash very badly and very unlikely to recover back to its previous position.

2. When to expect a "Greenish bull market"? every day!

3. Yeah, the metaverse hype will keep on going on. I don't think we have reached the peak yet.
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 11, 2022, 04:23:07 AM
What else can you do other than holding? Why would you want to sell? You were supposed to invest what you can afford to lose. So during the time of uncertainty, if the market crashes completely and never recovers, it wouldn't matter to you if you lost everything. But that is very unlikely to happen. As long as you don't sell, you are fine and you aren't making any loss. Keep holding and in the long run, you will make profit. Don't fall for those FUDs.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 10, 2022, 08:19:45 PM
I made this post because i think we, the community of gambling of bitcointalk need a kind of Hall of Fame.

What im saying?. Some like a thread that show all the winner of major events like, big Poker tournaments, Predictions pools.

You can see all the winners of the tournaments or best positioning in one post. And also this can work like a "trust" tabble to who is speaking in any thread, like ohhh see he is the winner of X competition.

Example:

Top 3 of BETNOMI POKER SERIES.
Top 3 of Sportsbet Predictions POOL

What do you think?

How would we know that those aren't some fake wins to boost the casinos reputation? And I doubt any winners would want to post that they won huge in a tournament because they get nothing out of it. So it should be like someone willing to collect those data and verify it.

Would be a waste of time to know who the winners are. Those information would be useless. Would be better if it was a list of upcoming tournament or series, but i bet there are  hundreds of such platform that continuously tracks those events. How about you collect those data and create a thread and keep others updated?
933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Price target on: May 05, 2022, 11:13:17 AM
What makes you think it is going to reach $65,000? And what makes you think that it will reach a  new ATH by the end of the year? You to state facts and reasons why you think the price will go to the levels you have stated. Or else all you are doing is creating FOMO.
The market is very unpredictable and volatile. No one accurate predict the price. All we can do is hold and wait. As long as you don't sell, you will never be making any loss. Why would you have to sell.. unless you invested in some shitcoins..
934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the fees aren't enough? on: May 05, 2022, 02:33:08 AM
Miners have two classes: big miners and small miners. Small miners are mostly weak hands and they will capitulate in bear market. It has happened in the past before last 3 halvings. It will repeat in future in my opinion.

In theory, with each halving, block reward halved and as consequence of it, Bitcoin price should increase (should double its price at least). How about miner transaction fee?

If the transaction fee (in satoshi) for each block remains the same, what do you think about income for miners (only take into account the part from transaction fee, not block reward)?

Let's see two possibilities
  • Total transaction fee in satoshi value: remains the same >> income should increase because BTC increases in value
  • Total transaction fee in satoshi value increases. Why? In future, I believe there will be more demand on Bitcoin transaction on the network, so people might join fee rate race that give miners better chances to confirm transactions paid by higher fee rate/ vbyte. Then, it will be multiplied by the increase of BTC price. Consequently, we should see a double-effect (positively) on miner income
Small miners are weak hands and they capitulate in bear market? Why would they continue if they make no profit? Makes no sense at all. Instead they could just bitcoin and hold it. Make more profit. I don't think there is anything such as weak hand or strong hand in mining. No one is going to maintain the network if there is no profit from it.

So the two possibilities favor the miners only. No more cheap fees. Wasn't bitcoin supposed to be better because it offers the cheapest fee for cross border transaction? Small transaction will no longer be feasible. People will start using it as a store of value (like they already do right now).
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge Future after Elon Musk Buy Twitter ? on: April 30, 2022, 04:54:01 PM
Buy the rumor, sell the news. So if whatever you are saying might be true, then buy this dip, because eventually when it will no longer be a rumor, the price by then would have already gone up and would be too late to buy. And once all the information is out, then sell as soon as you can, because there are already many investors that bought during the dip and is willing to cash in their profit. The future is still the same. It will be volatile and Elon will be able to cause the price of the coin to fluctuate a lot. This time even more than before.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: April 30, 2022, 04:25:37 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad
That's why you shouldn't be gambling with money that you can't afford to lose. Doesn't matter if you have high chance of winning with lower payout, you are still risking a lot. You should know that gambling is an expensive source of entertainment.
All you can do is learn a lesson from this. Work again to earn your money and repay the debts and move on with your life instead of regretting and thinking about those money that you will never get back.
937  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Stop Being Greedy. on: April 30, 2022, 04:00:54 PM
That is not called trading. It's called investing. And yeah, some of the investors when they see the price of a coin or token skyrocketing, they go all in with the hope of getting rich over night. Unfortunately things don't go their way. They end up investing in some crappy coins that gets dumped and they lose everything. This is both greed and stupidity. Stupidity, because they know it's a shitcoin and they might get scammed, yet they love giving away their money to those scammers.
It's not worth it telling them to stop being "greedy". They know what they are doing, it's just that they can't take it when they lose their money.
938  Economy / Gambling / Re: 24casino1.bet on: April 30, 2022, 03:27:11 PM
Hi,

The casino 24casino1.bet owes me £2266 as a withdrawal.
Yesterday was the 60th business day since i started the withdrawal process, and they didn't completed it yet.
Their terms are saying that it should take 7-21 business days, however the customer support always says " have patience, it ll be completed soon ", which seems like a joke to me already, its the same message everyday for 60 days and nothing happens .
I tried contacting their authorities, even messaging curacao public persons, nothing happened.

I'm wondering if anyone had a similar experience with a cyprus/curacao casino.

Is there something I could do about it? Are there any legal entities that could make them pay my withdrawal ?
I even tried using Revolut Chargeback option, but they said they can't chargeback due to mastercard guidelines.

Anyone knows a solution to this situation please?
Everyone busy telling telling you to lock the thread and move it to scam accusation. But I don't think you are accusing them of scamming you or anything. Not yet. If only they read what you are trying to say.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait. I doubt it is a legit casino based on the domain name. Who puts a "1" at the end of their casino name. 24casino sounds ok, but 1? Did you check their license and verify everything? Sound more like they copied another casino and is trying to scam users. If they licensed under curacao, you will be able to verify it. Make sure you check the domain name. You will also be able to file an official complaint against them through the same verification page. Slim chance of getting back your money.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ApeCoin on a massive run on: April 30, 2022, 03:45:03 AM
Is it too risky to buy it now?

When do you expect the drop?

unfortunately i missed the opportunity to buy and now its frustrating me every day
Yep, it is too risk. You should never buy when the price is at ATH or is skyrocketing unless you are willing to hold long term. I hope you didn't invest when the price was at $24. It already crashed down to 18$ and the last time I checked it was down by almost 20%. But who knows, it might recover again in few hours. Look at GMT. When the price reached the ATH there was a massive dump and the price went down almost 25% but weirdly the price is back up again and is almost 12% up.

No one can tell you when the price will drop. It's a risk you will have to take.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where Bitcoin has been googled the most? on: April 30, 2022, 03:39:33 AM
It makes sense that El Salvador is at the top. Their people googling what bitcoin is and to learn more about it since it is a legal tender over there. Nigerians seems to be very active with bitcoin. I have seen lots of Nigerian traders, but most of them have a very bad reputation sadly. Didn't their government put a ban on bitcoin trading or something and was freezing all bank accounts that was involved with crypto currencies? But I am really surprised not to see Russia on the list. Was expecting everyone to rush after bitcoin once their economy started to collapse. But yeah I guess they don't need bitcoin anymore since their economy already started to recover.
