Hey guys where can I get more PMC?
I want to giveaway some on my reddit sub and dont really have enough!
Also, could I buy PMC using btc and paypal? I have $20 in total

You can buy it on PMC via the exchanges. We also have a new exhange listed that accepts $, but the order book needs time to build up before you see any decent prices.

People won't really accept Paypal due to the total lack of buyer protection for the other person.

It just disheartens me to see coins like that receiving so much hype and exposure when a coin like PMC which is designed to be more stable doesn't get a look in. Too many people want to get-rich-quick and pump-and-dump. That's why there aren't that many Bitcoin millionaires. Those who got in early on never expected it to be the success it was and so sold them long before the prices went sky-high.

I don't see how Premine is any different to that. Look at our pricing, and consider all the altcoins right now going down in value. Think about it. Also consider the price of PMC when Bitcoin's price goes back up.

I'm seriously just considering dumping a lot of the other altcoins I hold and just buying up PMC. This feels like the early days of a coin before it gains massive market acceptance, which is why I am still here.
943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 01, 2014, 01:23:21 PM

For all the hype of Maxcoin, just look at where it's heading.

You can't profit-mine PMC to death like other altcoins. Our prices may vary due to lower exchange volumes, but we're back up to 0.00072 on Poloniex.

Maxcoin has become a victim of its own success. It's getting driven down just like Litecoin did. It's just become the next coin to profit-mine, and so they all get dumped for profit. The profit-miners far exceed the market speculators. That's why the price is going down and will continue to go down.

I'll stick with Premine, thanks.

PMC; safe from profit-farms.

I downloaded a copy of the so-called visacoin whitepaper before it was taken down. It's absolute gibberish, but if it's of any use I can host it somewhere.

please do!

White Paper Of VisaCoin.

I'm not 100% certain if that is the final revision he posted, but I believe it was.

I've increased my block rewards ten-fold; all rewards will be at least 0.001 PMC now, but because of how my script works the value also goes up by a Premoshi provided the network speed remains relatively constant. There's also some other factors that can increase the reward by many hundreds of Premoshis.

How does Premoshi sound for the smallest unit of PMC?  Cheesy

@Ait: Arr.

Premoshi...sounds half way between a mosh pit and one of those cute little moshi monsters - Lol

Also Premite, Premini, Flecks, Prebit...

Prebit sounds quite good.

So I would be happy to inject 100 PMC into the block rewards on Sunday if we can draw enough attention to it.

I know, easy come easy go and all that... but if the market keeps following the pattern, we'll soon have to start to operate with a little smaller amounts of PMC or we'll end up giving away cars, yachts and countries Cheesy

@Ait - The block rewarder is basically Nullu (or JohnnyVicious) sending the coins to himself, and generating a transaction fee with each of those. Just a little way of rewarding miners.

A vanity address is an address that contains letters of your choice, like a vanity plate on a car. Mine is, for example, 1MivexiLEfUVeo13WApbNFHbapKFSkYMo4 . If you're interested, let us know, somebody can generate one for you Wink

So a block rewarder is a piece of hardware, not software?

When you send PMC to someone, sometimes you have to pay a transaction fee. This transaction fee will go into a new block on the network. This block will keep filling up until a miner mines the block, and he gets whatever PMC is in the block; in this case the transaction fees.

What Mine and Johhny's script does it send PMC to ourselves. Over and over again. Generated a steady stream of transaction fees. These end up in new blocks on the network, which miners get when they mine new blocks. Hence "Block Rewarder".  Smiley

We are basically injecting our own PMC into new blocks for miners.

Ahhh OK...think I'm getting it, so the blocks are like treasure chests and PMCs are like Doubloons and the transaction fees like little flecks of gold that rub off the Doubloon everytime they are exchanged.  So when a coin is exchanged a fleck of gold goes into the treasure chest filling it up, once it's filled the Pirates (miners), can dig it up and the process starts again.  Can you dig up a half filled treasure chest, or can it only be dug up once filled?

*I bet you were all thinking that what PMC really needed was a pirate analogy*  Grin

That's quite a nice analogy. Yes. The treasure chest can be dug up at any time. The pirate with the faster ship will stand the best chance of finding it first.

The block will just keep filling until someone solves the block and a new one is generated. They are independent processes. Like pouring sand into a row of cups. How much sand ends up in each cup depends on how quickly the row of cups is pushed across the table.
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: February 28, 2014, 10:07:02 PM
I only catch 5 PMC a day thru mining so I'm still spending about 150 PMC a week on my block rewarder.
My wallet runs stable now after a few tweaks to the script, gonna generate a new 'FREE' vanity address tho since the block explorer can't show it anymore.
Funny part is that I'm the one generating almost all of the 0.00 blocks, doesn't really matter if we start rewarding those Wink

That's a lot of PMC to be giving away. Do you think it would have an impact if I matched that level for a few weeks? I can afford to, but obviously my supplies are finite as well. I could try it for a few weeks. Right now my payouts are around 0.0001, but I could up that to 0.001.

No, it's a script - a piece of software. Just sends transactions from one address to another back and forth Wink

Ahh OK, from one wallet address to another?  Why don't we all use block rewarders?

The transaction fees are taken out of your own coins. So you're basically donating your PMC to new blocks on the network.

With all the development going on with PMC lately it's not too surprising. Worth owning a handful now given how rare the coin is. less than 500,000 total supply. Who knows what they could be worth in a few months. Low risk, potentially big reward.

Just started receiving POS coins today. Already have around 290. Pretty nice little bonus.

Will look a lot nicer in a few weeks I'm sure.  Smiley

So I was thinking of an idea to help the miners with TX Fees.  Don't know if this would work or if it would throw things off or what, just an idea.
What about a Happy Hour?  During this time, two people trade back and forth a set amount of PMC, and bump the TX Fees up.  So that way by the end of trading, lets say 100 PMC, it's been "eaten up" by TX Fees.  No announcement of the Happy Hour, just a little bonus to whoever may be mining at that time.  Afterwards, the Happy Hour announcement can be posted with a Congrats or something like that.  Anyone can expand on this, it's just a base idea.

We've been doing kinda, sorta, something like this with Nullu's block rewarder (I think it was Nullu's, at least). Worked nice, but has eaten through those PMC at a scary rate Wink

Yes. It was eating through 100 PMC a day when I started using it. It's still running now, but on drastically less PMC so it can run continuously.

JohnnyVicious also has his own Block Rewarder. His currently generates much higher block rewards than mine, but I believe he also has a decent amount of mining power to make it more sustainable. Mine is running off donations, but I know he's also been using PMC he bought as well.

I'm happy to run promotional runs where higher levels of PMC are injected into new blocks but to make it successful the promotion needs high visibility. So I would be happy to inject 100 PMC into the block rewards on Sunday if we can draw enough attention to it.

But doesn't the Block Rewarder reward 0 TX Fee transactions?  Or am I incorrect?  This is more like, well, Happy Hour.  A brief period of bigger rewards.  Similar to how LottoCoin has random big reward blocks.  But this is user controlled.

No. That was the initial idea, but that became an unworkable solution to get functioning properly and would take a significant amount of work.

Check some blocks on the block explorer.

Nullu's Block Rewarder; 1Nt7T8VKi64mPtLZTkxv8cs3745RE4JfDY:
JohnnyVicious' Block Rewarder; 1FREE145aEP2FHcNWJx83r887L7DU1mH6V

You can see his is a lot more aggressive in how much PMC he transfers to himself. Mine is slower but I have no problems running it 24/7 without any slowdown. JohnnyVicious' script does create more traffic, though.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty offered - A fork of the bitcoin network that goes back to block 219200 on: February 28, 2014, 08:07:13 PM
It's like a system restore point by community consensus.  Wink

Consensus?? Maybe from people who lost coins on MtGox, this is reasonable. But is absurd to think something like that.
You will start with a fork at difficulty 3.200.000.000. Who will mine it?

Well, small consensus. I guess if MtGox coins are lost forever it would gain a small but loyal following.

The addition of 2.

Works like a charm. I can finally carry PMC around with me wherever I go.

This coin has a fantastic level of support. One to keep an eye on this year for sure.

I think I know a way to create an automated lottery-based system that kbroadfoot was asking me about.

My original script that I wrote that uses the online block explorers could be re-purposed with my current block rewarder script to scrape a list of receiving addresses to a target address; all you'd need to do is donate x amount of PMC to the address specified, and the script will automatically pick a winner or multiple winners.

I would still need to organise it from the point if picking a new address every time a new draw started, but the rest would be automated, so little work from that point of view.

Let me know what sort of ticket price and payout structure you would like, and I'll work on it this weekend.
