961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 04, 2023, 08:00:23 PM
I've come across numerous articles and blogs that share exciting testimonies of how Bitcoin has transformed lives, inspiring some individuals to even quit their jobs.

You can think about leaving your current job only if you have other sources of income secured. Whether it's from Bitcoin investments, cryptocurrency trading, or any other crypto-related business, it doesn't matter. If you read testimonies of individuals who quit their jobs because of Bitcoin, most of them are early investors who bought a lot when BTC was way cheaper than it is now, securing their financial stability. Check out historical graphs of how much Bitcoin grew in past bull runs. It's unlikely to repeat that kind of growth, and the best we can hope for is maybe a 2x or 3x price appreciation compared to the last ATH.
962  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Smart Wallet on: August 04, 2023, 03:57:29 PM
We are building a wallet <...>

JJudging by everything I've seen, it's not a wallet but a custodial wallet service.

And I believe there are several obvious red flags why no one should entrust their funds to your custody:

- According to whois records, your domain is 9 days old.
- You claim to have 6 years of experience even though no one has ever heard of you or mentioned you online.
- You claim to have 12 products built so far, but you failed to mention at least one.
- Your "About Us" section lacks any substantial information about the company, its team, or even the name of the owner.
- Your physical address: "1 Vanderbilt Ave, New York" is fake.
- There are no GitHub or other software code repositories available, so I assume that even if you "produced" something, it won't be open source?
963  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam exchange or not? Please share more light on: August 04, 2023, 03:27:01 PM
One look at their site is enough for me to know that it is an amateur or scam exchange. No serious service provider would allow themselves to have such an amateurishly made website, full of grammatical errors.

My friend had already deposited some usdt in the website and although it looks like an exchange platform but something fishing I assume is up with the site.

Best to stay away from that exchange. If they can't even bother to present a professional and error-free website, it's a major red flag. And tell your friend that the next time he asks, he should consult you before depositing his funds, because, from the looks of it, it is highly unlikely that he will ever get his money back.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lets Discuss All Casino/Gambling Related Movies Here on: August 04, 2023, 03:16:17 PM
I don't know much about gambling movies. But before, there were newer gambling movies, I've seen the God of the Gambler movie, but I forgot which one because there are several movies about the God of the Gambler. I only know that there is Chow Yun Fat, the main star of that film.

I had never heard of that movie, so I had to look it up. Now I see that it is a Hong Kong movie and not a high-budget Hollywood production. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a fan, and the only movies I can remember watching are probably the older Jackie Chan movies. As for the actor Chow Yun-Fat, if I'm not mistaken, he also played the lead role in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," right? That was a good movie!

anonymreporterbc, your words don't sound convincing, but you know what would make them more powerful? Some solid proof or evidence to back them up! Those screenshots you shared don't quite cut it. They're not really explanatory. So, how about starting from scratch and explaining everything step by step? That way, your argument will be more compelling and convincing!
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lets Discuss All Casino/Gambling Related Movies Here on: August 02, 2023, 08:51:34 PM
There was a movie with Mel Gibson (back when he was still a good actor) about a poker tournament on a riverboat. The plot of the film was in the style of an American western, and if my memory serves me correctly, I believe Jodie Foster played a supporting role and there was another older dude who turned out to be the father of Gibson's character. Does anyone know the name of that movie? I remember finding it quite amusing, but then again, at that time, I enjoyed all Mel Gibson movies.  Cheesy

I think the movie that you are talking about, the name of the movie is Maverick. It was released in 1994. I have seen some parts of the movie on youtube. I just remembered the name of the movie based on your description. I am still not exactly sure though. But I am pretty confident that this is the movie. And yes, in Maverick, Jodie Foster played a supporting role. I am not a big fan of movies, to be honest.

Yeah, that's the one. Thanks! I might as well watch it again.

In my life, I have only seen a few marvel movies, DC movies where Ben Affleck and/or Christian Bale was the Batman, and some very popular movies, like Interstellar, Inception, blood diamond. I did see the whole series of John Wick, terminator, Rocky, die hard and Mission impossible. I have seen a few older movies like Shawshank redemption, American Psycho. some Christopher Nolan movies as well. So I have not seen too many movies outside the most popular ones to be honest.

It sounds like you really like all superhero and action movies, but you've also managed to come across some truly awesome ones, like Shawshank Redemption and American Psycho. I prefer a bit more variety, so whenever I have the time, I enjoy watching a good movie regardless of the genre (except horror – not a fan of those).

But to stay on topic, there's another movie I'd like to mention that just came to mind. It's called "Casino," starring Robert De Niro. The movie is a fictional tale about gangsters in 70s Vegas but based on a true story. The performances by the actors are top-notch, and it was masterfully directed by the great Martin Scorsese. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch!

968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 51% attack on: July 31, 2023, 09:51:04 PM
Define "attack".

Unfair means to get an advantage over the network and abusing that advantage (more than 51% hash in this case)

It is important to understand that having 51% hash power on the network does not necessarily imply abuse of that advantage. You should consider the context in which this was possible. During that time, there wasn't much traffic on the network, and there were no exchanges, casinos, or other services using Bitcoin transactions. Therefore, there was really nothing that could be abused.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing Slot Games On Demo/Free mode Vs Live/Paid Mode on: July 31, 2023, 09:36:01 PM
Depends on the game software. For example, the manufacturer Amatic in the demo version puts bonuses almost every 30 spins, but in the game for money, 500 spins and even more can go.
But the games from the manufacturer Netent demo version is no different

I didn't even know about that.
Isn't changing the user experience in demo mode cheating? You're promising the client a different thing from the one he'll get when he deposits money.
Exactly what i was going to point out, if this providers offer one thing in the demo version of their game and then offer something else entirely in the live version, that is simply cheating, and it also means that the whole idea of games being provably fair is nothing but a sham, a big lie..

Yes, we can call it cheating, or misleading marketing practice, and this can lead some players to make deposits, thinking they'll have a similar experience when playing for real money. But they will probably claim that the demo mode is only for entertainment purposes and to give players a taste of what the game has to offer in terms of gameplay, features, and graphics. From a business perspective, it's not uncommon for game developers and providers to use demo versions as a marketing tool to attract players. Not to mention that casinos have the capability to adjust the Return to Player (RTP) on certain slot games, which can contribute to further misunderstandings. For instance, players might encounter varying experiences with the same game when playing on different casino sites.
970  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Trying to verify signatures for Windows installer on: July 31, 2023, 09:18:09 PM
Hey guys, I'm trying to setup an electrum wallet. Howver, I've run into difficulties with downloading the signatures for the windows installer. Cloudflare says the connection timed out, so is the page down or am I just missing something on my end?

You mean this?
https://download.electrum.org/4.4.5/electrum-4.4.5-setup.exe.asc

It works for me. Without error. Try using a different browser.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: July 29, 2023, 10:19:50 PM
As far as I know, many professional athletes are very superstitious and have whole rituals before a match. Maybe that sentiment carries over to sports gamblers as well. I mean, we've all heard about players wearing lucky socks, following specific routines, or even eating the same meal before every game. It's like they believe these rituals bring them luck or help them perform better.

Welcome back to the forum, bitexchangers. I see you've been inactive for a while, but I hope you haven't forgotten how to use this platform during that time.  Wink

It would be best if you move your topic to the appropriate board, which is "Services", because this is about advertising your services, not project development.

All that makes me think this can't possibly be a finished product for your clients. Still, things like that are an instant turn-off for me. Good luck with your business model and I hope you can make a professionally looking casino.

LOL! It's probably just a demo to showcase their service or software, because when I tried searching for xazar.bet casino, I couldn't find any mention of them online. But you made a valid point; even if it is a demo, the site should be finished and polished because this looks totally unprofessional. I mean, if they want to attract potential clients, they should present themselves in the best possible way, right? A half-baked website doesn't really inspire confidence. So, if they're serious about their business, they better step up their game and give us something more professional.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 29, 2023, 08:00:58 PM
Let's focus on the chances here, the house edge over the gamblers. Stating it as a hyperbolic statement emphasizes the advantage of the gambling site, suggesting that gamblers like us don't have a fair chance to win in gambling.

I'd also like to emphasize that we have gambling types like sports betting where we can win, but it's not against a gambling site since they merely facilitate bets from both sides and make money from the juice or commission. Our attitude towards gambling does indeed affect the outcome, and if we become greedy, it increases the likelihood of losing, just like how a gambling site might lose their funds if they are vulnerable to hacking. However, that's out of the topic, as I solely wish to emphasize that we can win in gambling, even in the long run, by believing in our chances and ensuring consistency.

It sounds to me like you think sports betting has no house edge. That's not correct. True, in sports betting you're not directly playing against the gambling site itself, but there's still an inherent advantage for the bookies, which is how they make money. They set the odds in their favor, and that's where the house edge comes into play.
975  Economy / Speculation / Re: The time has finally come...??? on: July 29, 2023, 07:02:06 PM
I would love to know you all's predictions for the next bull. I'm thinking anywhere around $100,000? May looking at how far the previous bull runs were able to reach, I think that would be a good price to place it 😊👍, but I'm still open to whatever wild opinions you all may have. Roll Eyes

Your prediction is as good as any. You can be right or wrong; there is no sure way to predict the future of cryptocurrencies. $100,000 sounds like a plausible target, considering the heights of previous bull runs. But also, it is possible that we don't even reach the new ATH in the next bull run and that the sell-off occurs even before we reach $69,000. No one can know.

So, although it can be fun and exciting to speculate about the next bull market, these types of discussions are equally useless and irrelevant.

I don't need comments that are off point lol.

FYI, your whole topic was off-point since you posted it in the wrong board.  Wink
976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Way to explain what is the bitcoin on: July 29, 2023, 06:44:15 PM
Op, don't ever try to explain Bitcoin to anyone like that; you'll confuse both yourself and the person you're explaining it to. Bitcoin is not a "cup" that holds money; Bitcoin IS money - digital money, plain and simple.

And, if you want to delve into more details about Bitcoin, I recommend checking out what mk4 wrote and using his sources. You'll get a full explanation of the entire concept, in both a simple and detailed manner.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Steamers on: July 29, 2023, 05:39:31 PM
I don't really follow any streamer because, you know, it feels like a total time-waster to me. I've checked out some streams before, but then I discovered they all play with fake balances, not real money. And that just killed the excitement for me. I mean, why watch someone gamble with fake cash when the real deal is way more thrilling? If I'm gonna spend my time on something, I'd rather do something more productive or even play casino games myself with real money. At least that way, there's a chance to win some actual dough. But hey, different strokes for different folks, right? If folks enjoy watching streamers, that's cool, but it's just not my thing.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Things to Consider When Choosing an Online Casino on: July 29, 2023, 05:18:29 PM
I didn't find reputation and trust in your thread among the things to be considered when choosing an online casino, maybe they are there if we click that little link but I didn't do that because I didn't feel like it, but anyway, I believe reputation and trust are two of the most essential things one should look for when joining a casino platform, if a platform doesn't have these two things, all other things are basically useless because the community simply doesn't like that platform and there must be some reason for that.

Reputation and trust in the platform should be the first consideration for anyone choosing their online casino. I can't imagine anything more important than that. I noticed that the OP put "5 Things to Consider" in the title but only listed three in the post. It's possible that reputation is one of the missing items, but as you said, I don't want to click on dubious links, especially when they look like hidden behind shortened URLs. Sorry Op.

One more thing is the amount of time the platform has been around. So, when you are looking to join a casino, you should see how old it is and based on that, how much trust and reputation it has managed to gain over that period, and if that ratio is good, you are good to join it, otherwise, keep looking.

Yes, I agree. The maturity of the platform is important too. Nowadays, it seems like almost anyone can start their own online casino with a small investment. But, platform that's been around for a while and has some experience under its belt is a safer bet. It shows they've been in the game and have likely worked out the kinks. That means they're probably more reliable and stable. Of course, that doesn't mean all new casinos are sketchy, but it's smart to check out a platform's track record and experience before taking the plunge. Better safe than sorry, right?

@cryptogeniusdice, stop creating multiple topics for the same reason. Everything you want to post can be done in one thread. If you keep creating new topics, other members will report them and the moderators will have to remove them and then you will complain that everyone conspired against you.

No one can take you seriously if you can't follow the simple rules of this forum community and continue to act like a spoiled brat.
