West Indies is currently performing well in only T20 cricket. Other than that I don’t see them performing well in any other format. That’s why I don’t think they are actually going to go deep into the upcoming ODI World Cup. And we can see the same thing happening when West Indies players are playing in franchise cricket. They are performing well because they play T20 well. But they don’t necessarily play well in other formats.
Where you watch West Indies performing well in T20i because I also watch their last few matches, and they were badly failed in this format as well with losing matches against teams like Ireland and Scotland never been ideal and after losing these matches they were unable to qualify for the T20i world cup in Australia mean currently they are badly down and out of the competition with their all current positions are in test match they are at 8th and then in ODI they are at 9th and in T20i they are currently at 7th with any time they can go down because Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are doing impressive job and have enough quality to bring them down at 9th spot which is actually their best spot for all formats in recent time. Based on the performance against South Africa in the last T20 series the above user might've said that West Indies is playing really good in T20 cricket. Never watched such a match in my lifetime. During the 17th over match got into the control of Gujarat Titans as Rashid Khan made his hat trick wicket. Yash Dayal destroyed everything with his last over. None could've expected such a performance from Rinku at the final over. In the last five balls, five sixes required and Rinku Singh did it with style. 29 runs required in the last over and Umesh Yadav made a single and 28 runs left to be scored. Rinku Singh made it and reached 207 at the end of 20 overs.
Bowling from Yash Dayal is really bad, because to any batsmen a bowler should not allow to bat 30 runs in the last five balls. Finally what Venkatesh contributed at the beginning of the match turned useful.

The other results didn't went their way, and as a result United Arab Emirates and United States of America have qualified for the next round. Namibia is one of the strongest associate sides, and I feel bad for them that they couldn't qualify. You are absolutely right Kolkata Knight Riders runs were very low in the first stage of the game. Wickets fell soon after and KRR's run rate was at an all-time low. When I was watching the game I thought KRR will not win today's match with the way KRR is losing wickets in the match. But in the next period very good batting performance was excellent and they scored 204 runs in a short period of time. and later Royal Challengers Bangalore batting performance did not do much for the team. Due to which they lost the match by losing all their wickets and lost the entire wicket for 123 runs in balls from 17.4 overs. Kolkata Knight Riders won by 81 runs.
What a poor show by Royal Challengers Bangalore and they were all out in only 123 runs. None of the players could make any considerable score and it seems that they were too much under pressure after they conceded 204 runs in the first innings. Varun Chakravarthy took 4 wickets but he could not become the man of the match. Shardul Thakur showed even better performance who socred quick 68 runs and later took one wicket. The 200+ runs is a big pressure. If the score was around 180-190 runs surely RCB would've performed better. The small difference in the target score gives added pressure. As said this pressure is being felt on RCB from the very beginning of the match. Shardul Thakur is the match turner with his bat. A quick 68 at the right time isn't expected, but those runs were the winning runs. For RCB none have scored considerable runs, same is with KKR as everyone scored single figure run except few players scoring 57 runs, 46 runs and 68 runs made the team reach the 204 runs. The wicket taken by Shardul Thakur is an important wicket of Michael Bracewell. He was scoring slowly when wickets were falling at the other side. A big day for KKR and Shardul. |

Ireland comeback is truly unexpected, but it doesn't mean that a team isn't capable to make a comeback for having some debutant players. The last time they played the test match almost 4 years ago.
