Not the shipping story again...I thought we had this one month ago too...
I think I have every right to be upset with them for failing to deliver on the terms they advertised in huge print.

I never said they didn't advertise shipping in November, which they did begin...just like october... which is exactly what I expected, a repeat of past events... I'm talking about the word used..."Promise" Which was never stated along with any delivery dates.
What do you call this then? An estimate? A fantasy? A wild-assed guess? I call it a commitment. One which they advertised and then failed to uphold. What's the point of making such a statement if it's meaningless?

Really Bogart? my order history has the order date, and that's all, nothing like "November Shipping" is written on it, and I've ordered from every batch... -also- Yes really. My order history looks just like the screenshot CYPER Posted. "Jupiter November Shipping". The screenshot you posted above is from "news" posted on 25-November, long after I placed my order. Information (promises) given at the time the order was placed is what counts.
|
|
|
and how does "We are shooting for" turn into a promise?
There was no mention of "shooting for" when I placed the order. When I placed the order it clearly said on the website "All orders paid today will ship in November". In my order history page it still says "Jupiter November Shipping". (emphasis added)

They promised 15th October shipping, but that didn't happen, so.. By now you should have learnt that not everything KNC says turns true My October order shipped 03-October, and was delivered on the 7th. No complaint there.

All orders placed today will ship in November.
Well it's December now in Sweden and my "Jupiter November Shipping" hasn't been shipped. Way to over-promise and under-deliver. What was your order date? Nov 9. I'm guessing it'll still end up being a better turnaround than any other ASIC producer.
True, but that's no excuse. They promised November shipping, and ought to have upheld that promise.

I would love for someone to explain to me how mpex.co is not a scam bit I simply cannot understand.
The burden of proof rests on the accuser. You can't just say "prove it's not a scam". What evidence do you have to offer that it is a scam? Can you point to any material lies or misrepresentations, breaches of contract, etc?

Fun fact: +300% (a quadrupling) is the maximum difficulty adjustment possible. This is enforced by the bitcoin protocol.

This is the KnC thread. Please take unrelated discussion elsewhere.

Any news about NovBatch which was "in progress" and later back to "paid" My orders all "in progress" and now back to "paid" Mine when back to paid but still got UPS tracking number and it was here the next day. Have you got a tracking no.? I have not yet received a UPS tracking number for my November Jupiter, and November's almost over. I think they have about 7 more hours of November left in Sweden right now. All orders placed today will ship in November.

I didn't want a phone call...a fucking email would have been nice though. 1st I heard was on this forum, hours after the things were sold. I bought a KNC machine mainly based on it's ability to be upgraded
I got an email. Did you not sign up for their email newsletter?
|
|

I think I want you to back that statement up with some evidence.

Someone Hacked into my Gox Account!
Off topic.

Sounds like someone at KnC accidentally the whole database.
I was really hoping to get a tracking number email today. Oh well. There's one more day in November yet...

It is VERY common practice for companies to add critical and important notices in the hardware boxes that people receive. What would make you expect everyone read that online? Having inside the box when a customer opens it up almost guarantees they will read it. Adding a piece of paper with some text on it before taping up the box is trivial and would cost KNC nothing. They should cover all bases if they really cared about people bricking units.
Is reading a lost art or something? Yes I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect someone to read the damned instructions given on the firmware download page. If you can't expect that, I doubt you can expect them to read a printed page shipped in the box either. Personally I'll have no sympathy for someone who is too dumb to RTFM and then bricks their box. Maybe they'll learn to pay attention next time. Jesus Bogart, electronic companies have been putting in flash notices in the hardware boxes since there were electronics. Just because you happen to have read what was online doesn't mean everyone else has. It's almost like you are against adding a notice to protect and help the customer out. Also, if it does have flash notice that would suggest it is really an important point the company wants to get across to the user. Finding that info on some forum that KNC doesn't even moderate in a line of news articles can easily be missed. Damn dude, where all the hate come from? It's not buried in some forum. It's right on the same page you have to go to to download the firmware itself, and in red text no less.

I'm sure I'll have no problem pulling 2100W from the wall, but I am wondering where I'm going to find an ATX power supply to handle that much. Maybe 2 power supplies will be expected?

Ok guys i'm going to hook you up with a couple of firmwares imminently. But... But... (said twice for dramatic effect) One is for the November box. For the Ericsson VRMs - big yellow stickers, have Ericsson written on them, were delivered in November. One is for the October box. For the General Electric unbranded silver VRMs. The tuning suite. Make sure you use the correct one. It won't kill your device, but it may require you re-flashing the beaglebone via an SSD card if you flash the wrong one. It future a uniform intelligent release that differentiates between the pair will be available. Currently this therefore relies on the intelligence of the user, i.e. you. So... They should have come with a notice in the box NOT to flash the firmware with it. I'm sure KNC can afford the paper and toner to print these out so the users know beforehand. Unless some people really are telepathic here. They're labeled pretty clearly on the download page with some red warning text saying not to use the wrong one on your unit. Do you really need more warning than that?
