What value resistor would I piggyback onto R10 to target 1.30V, or 1.25V?
682  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 24, 2013, 11:21:42 PM
Honestly, I wish we coudl have as many pools as we wanted for the Balance feature. Or even better, direct X percent of mining or X many chips toward Y pools. I'd LOVE that.

That sounds like a job for miner proxy software.

Do the fans stop when this happens?
684  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 22, 2013, 12:48:59 AM
anyone tried removing the rear panel for batch 1 and lowers temp?
I have removed for batch#3 and lowered temperature by 2C. The presure felt when keeping panel with the hand was pretty substantial. I'm sure that if the slots were larger and beveled on the inside too it would have been better.
You might give it a try, it's not even necessary to power down the machine if you're careful and don't mind back panel to lye captive by the power cord.

I cringe at the thought of one of those metal nuts bouncing onto the pdu board.

You can't grab 'em with a magnet either.  I guess they're zinc or something.
685  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: August 21, 2013, 04:26:23 PM
Burnin, my chips have been awaiting you at your post office.  Tracking says "Addressee requests own pick-up - Item being held, addressee being notified"

See my PM for the tracking number.

They are at the customs office.

Does that mean there is a fee due?  What does it take to get them from the customs office?

Are you saying that Customs has not released them?  It looks like they have on the tracking page: https://i.imgur.com/sRoFrnp.png
686  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] received the tracking number, but can't track my order on: August 21, 2013, 01:48:02 AM
I would try HK Post:

Actually turns out the 850watt didn't burn out.  After 2 weeks, I think it overheated and shutoff when my ac was turned off. ... Still though, I ordered a corsair hx 1050 gold to serve as primary psu.

Well that is good to hear!  Just FYI the Corsair HX 1050 is about 1cm too long to fit inside.  That's why I was hoping the V1000 would fit, but I am not sure if all the connectors will clear.  It may work with using 2 out of the 3 PCI-E cables, not sure.  Any problem with leaving just PCI-E 3 disconnected?   Not sure how the power board distributes power.

I put a HX1050 in my Batch 1 unit.  I removed the PDU to install the power supply.  Then I reinstalled the PDU after all the cables were attached.  I removed the side panel which made things easier.

Do not leave any inputs disconnected from the PDU.  You may well melt the connected wires as they are unable to carry the amperage the unit is drawing, and overheat.

Mine takes the 24-pin EATX connector, the 8-pin CPU Power connector, and 2 8-pin PCIe connectors.  Later batches may be different, I don't know.
688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC 20130819 firmware on: August 19, 2013, 03:17:44 AM
Some of you have already spotted I uploaded a new firmware, 20130819

I upgraded my 4-module Batch 1 unit.  2h 40m later everything looks fine.

690  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL order hold at customs (France) - what do? on: August 19, 2013, 02:37:22 AM
basically subj. I've got a BFL single on hold at customs because it's "missing some documents  (invoice or customs documents)," and I don't know what to do and whom to contact. Of course I contacted BFL but
of course I'm not getting a fast reaction.

did this happen to you? what did you do?

I would contact the Customs office and ask them what's needed.

From ragingazn628's GB thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177994.msg1960159#msg1960159

10k chips ordered 27-April.
692  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: USB eruptors are terrible or have I been unlucky? on: August 18, 2013, 07:54:01 PM
Check with where you bought them.  A lot of resellers are offering discounts to their early customers who paid a high price for these.
693  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 18, 2013, 06:00:43 PM
Choosing PCIe to be "data center ready" is funny.

Clearly the proper way to achieve this would have been to use a 19" rackmountable form.  Then they could put whatever arrangement they wanted inside the case to achieve optimal cooling, density, etc.

Instead they're letting the end users deal with these problems.  How many GPU rigs have you seen that are "data center ready"?
694  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 18, 2013, 05:53:38 PM
I installed 20310818 on my 4-module batch 1 and 3-module batch 2, and they're both humming along fine.  The batch 2 unit runs faster now, reporting WU 1182 now after 15 hours, where before WU was 1161.  I think the batch 1 unit does also, though I didn't measure.

Same problem here, batch #3 three blade miner:
[match_work_count24] => 0

other worker are fine, but box is hashing 1/24 less Sad

Looking for idea what to check.

If it were me, I would remove the board from the heatsink and reseat it.  Maybe exchange it with one in a different position on the same module, and hope it was just a connector problem.

I'd also look at it to see if anything's obviously fried or otherwise damaged.
695  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: August 18, 2013, 05:40:44 PM
Anyone compiled a working cgminer-klondike with libusb for cygwin or mingw-msys? Seems like there are some issues with libusb in this environment as it can detect the klondike device but fails on writing to it...

I assume you've already tried "run as Administrator", yes?

698  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Avalon Batch 3 Chassis, Control Unit, Router and Fans (no modules) on: August 16, 2013, 11:12:33 PM
My plan is to run this auction through the weekend

Doh.  I was planning to bid.

Ending an auction early is not the way to get top satoshi for the item.  :/

700  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL board project COINADO and COINTAMINATION - Tests completed :) on: August 14, 2013, 11:55:00 PM
All chips run at a minimum of 250 mhz.

Higher grade chips will run up to 294 mhz.

Interesting.

Is there any possibility to set the clockspeed of each chip on the board individually (like my ztex quad fpga boards do), or do they all need to run in lockstep, as it were?
