So now that you guys own, uh "shares", what are you going to do with them?
842  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 16, 2013, 04:51:36 PM
ATX is a much better option, for efficiency, reliability, and cable management.

IMO.

In places where I just run a couple boards, I just plug them into the host PC's power supply.

Now if someone would just make a kit for mounting these in a 5.25" bay...hmm...
843  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 16, 2013, 03:11:41 PM
Hmm Just got mine, does not look good at all,

...

EDIT : I've spoken with conman and Kanoi and we tried a ton of things, but the error still persists on both Cgminer and the bitminter client, both on Windows and Linux.

What power supply are you using?  I recommend ATX.  Do the two bright white LEDs come on, and the fan spins?

Guys don't forget to tip Xiangfu for his great work Smiley

Good call.  Tip sent.

I've been using his build-avalon-image.sh script to build my own firmware images for WR703Ns with support for the various FPGA miners enabled.

I've been using them to mine on Bitforce FPGA Singles, CM1s, and Ztex 1.15y boards.  Unfortunately the Ztex bitstreams can't fit into the 4MB flash memory, so I've been loading them into RAM in /tmp after each reboot.  I plan to try a usb-storage solution for that later.

I can post my builds if anyone's interested.

Sorry, cards are all sold now.  Thanks for your interest.
846  Bitcoin / Hardware / Xilinx XC2S100 any good for mining? on: May 15, 2013, 03:18:40 PM
I took apart some old telecom gear and found on the board a chip labeled: Xilinx Spartan XC2S100 TQ144AMS0505.

Would they be likely mine sha256 at any decent speed, with the right bitstream?
847  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 15, 2013, 02:59:51 PM
I also received an email saying that a note has been added to my order.  The note specifies a DHL tracking number that now shows "Shipment information received", for a shipment originating in HK.

Meanwhile, I've still heard nothing regarding my trade-in order, though the tracking information shows the shipment was received by Mr. Chen on 20-April.

Anyone that needs a hub should consider this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817392046

It worked amazingly when I had bfl singles.

I just bought 2 of these myself last week:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182208

Looks like exactly the same thing, in a different branding.

So far mine have been working well.  I'm using all the ports on one.

The Sapphire Batch

This is the first batch under production in quantity. Its lead-time is conservatively 15-20 days.

That was posted in the 04-May announcement.

I'm expecting delivery to Arklan sometime during "the week of the 19th", to use BFLspeak, with delivery to me later that week or early the next.

I understand ASICMINER has been pretty good about meeting delivery schedules so far, with their blade sales.

What is the processor type and speed, and how much RAM?

2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 3MB shared L3 cache or 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor

Which processor does yours have?
851  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [US] 5 Sapphire 100352-3L dual-fan 7950s on: May 14, 2013, 11:35:16 AM
I use cgminer with a 75C temp target, which for some reason makes them run around 73C:

The 4 dual-fan cards are in this rig.  The single-fan card is on another rig, but runs at the same temp.  I use big boxfans for extra cooling in open-air frames.

I haven't measured the power draw of the whole rig (I run it on 240V power, and only have a 120V meter), but the cards are said to use about 200W each.

Shipped one out this morning.  Still 4 of the dual-fan cards left, plus the single-fan.

i've also picked up another hub so i can test 21 of these at a time.

I got a couple 10-port hubs recently myself (Rosewill), but as I look at it, I see the wallwart is only rated to supply 4 amps.

I don't think I'll be trying to run more than 8 on mine, unless I wire mine up to get 5V from my PC ATX power supply.

Is there a "cgminer on TP-Link WR703N" thread anywhere?

I see one for Broadcom-based routers, but those are a bit different (mipsel vs mipseb).

Great! I didn't see that in the specs (or more likely, read right over it not knowing what it is). Does anyone have a link to more information on Icarus so i can reduce my ignorance?

Wiki: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Icarus

EDIT: Can't wait to plug Block Erupter in my Netgear WNDR3700 router and start mining )

how's that possible ?

I stayed up too late last night figuring out how to build cgminer for a WR703N (actually it builds the whole WR703N firmware around it), based on xiangfu's Avalon work.

I have it mining on an attached Cm1 now.  Later today I'll test it with some Ztex boards and some BFL FPGA Singles.

(Anyone know how to unbrick a 703N with a bad flash without soldering to it?)
857  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [US] 5 Sapphire 100352-3L dual-fan 7950s on: May 12, 2013, 12:51:23 AM
I'm getting sick of managing GPUs, with all of their noise and heat and power demands, and the space they occupy.  I'm trying to pare my hardware down to where I'm only mining on FPGAs and better.

I also have one Sapphire 100352-4L 7950 with the single-fan reference cooler:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202030

That one mines scrypt at 545KH/s for me.  I'll let it go for BTC2.45.  Same deal, insured shipping and original box included. Never OC'd or overvolted.
858  Economy / Computer hardware / [Sold] 5 Sapphire 100352-3L dual-fan 7950s on: May 12, 2013, 12:10:09 AM
I've decided to sell off some of my GPUs.

Up for sale are 5 Sapphire 7950s that I bought from Newegg in April:  4 left

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202026

They make around 568KH/s each mining scrypt.  I never overclocked or overvolted them.

They come with the original retail boxes (may be missing the barcode).

I'm asking BTC2.5 each, insured shipping included.

Continental US buyers only please.  Escrow is welcome.

PM me or post ITT to buy.

Edit: I will also include a 1x PCIe riser cable with each card, with the end of the female socket machined open.

Edit: Cards are all sold now.  Thanks.

Nice.

I'm hoping my 10 piece order (#1573) fits into this batch.
860  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 10, 2013, 12:10:13 PM
i see that i can just print it on regular printer paper. i'll just do that ,then apply to box/envelope and cover in packing tape so it's waterproof.

i figure padded envelopes for overs of 5 or less (each unit in it's own anti-static bag and bubble wrapped) and for bigger orders, boxes with foam inserts to separate the units. i already have a ton of cardboard and foam from other stuff, so it's no big to do that.

You can do that, but they don't want you to tape over the barcodes, and they're a bit of a pain to avoid (I've done it hundreds of times).

Please, please don't use a padded envelope for my shipment.  Use a box with packing material (crumpled newspaper works) surrounding the items.  Understand that the mail gets beat the f up.  You should see what some things look like after they've been through it.  I can imagine anything in a padded envelope getting thoroughly crushed.

I use boxes like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200-6-x-3-x-2-White-Corrugated-Shipping-Mailer-Packing-Box-Boxes-/380554330622
