Yeah, I know what you mean. I won't have private conversations around my computer, phone etc. Unfortunately privacy is not an issue for most people, including myself and once it is discovered as an issue, it could be too late.

What I like about BTG is the algorithm change. What I understood is that the algo change makes mining more decentral, it's possible to mine with GPU.
A warehouse full of ASICs vs a warehouse full of GPUs, the mining is still going to be centralized to massive farms to maximize profits with economies of scale. And also there's this: TREZOR Statement on Bitcoin Gold Fork

I don't think bitcoin has even left the runway yet. When gold shops in SE Asia start accepting Bitcoin in exchange for fiat, that will be the boarding call. Yeah, for some reason I'm feeling like we're still 3-5 years away. Financial institutions and other companies haven't capitulated and started integrating Bitcoin payments and services yet. That's when you'll know it's happening. It happened that way with the Internet (yr 1995 - still an obscure niche geek hobby thing, yr 2000 - it was an exploding tech industry). Also, the public has to firmly leave all these stupid contentious fork attempts behind, and just ignore them. Industry won't touch Bitcoin until there is majority public consensus around that. Again, that happened with the Internet when private corporate Intranets eventually failed and got left in the dust. Yep, it feels like 1995 (niche geeks and their bitty coin haha) I'm leaving for my winter home in Vietnam in 2 weeks and I'll be asking all the money exchanges if they accept Bitcoin. I think its only a matter of time. Good point on forks and alts although I'm not sure it will take 3-5 years. People will probably wise up a lot faster this time because of the internet and speed in which people follow trends. |

Good morning Bitcoinland.
We finally got enough of a dip to get me up off my ass and buy some more coin... currently $5220USD/$6525CAD (Bitcoinaverage). That's back up by more than a c-note since I bought this AM. Seems I caught pretty much the bottom again but I hope I didn't blow it by only spending half the fiat I'd earmarked for Bitcoin. I thought it might go lower so I held half back.
Meanwhile AltCash has taken an even worse beating... currently $318USD/$399CAD (Coinmarketcap).
Feels good to buy for the first time since September 15. Maybe I'll get to buy some more later today. Gotta keep an eye on the ticker.

I need your help or advice, bittrex is blocking members account I immediately removed all my funds from bittrex, but what other exchange can I use?
I need some exchange that is not equal to poloniex, bittrex or yobit.

Try Kraken. They run their server on a toaster, but they don't fuck around with people. What did I miss? What is happening to Bittrex? That is one of my favorite crypto-crypto exchange! Why blocking accounts and for what reason? Are verified account having this problem as well? I don't have my 2FA device with me and therefore I can't access trex right now. Please share some info. Let's talk price: my end of year bitcoin price prediction is getting closer. Waiting patiently for it. You can run google authentication on a desktop, no need for a second 2FA device. |

I've been trolling my customers for bitcoin conversation since June to get a feel for how everyday people see the crypto space.
Average Joe is now occasionally checking bitcoin price! They may have not invested or learned much about BTC but it's on their radar!
In May/June most average Joe's heard about Bitcoin for the first time, In July they heard a little more, August brought more awareness again and a few questions along with some speculative support. September brought out more opinions and naysayers while the price declined into correction. October is looking like FOMO month.
I think we are now on the horizon of acceptance of BTC as a "real" and "normal" thing by average folks while many new entrants are now learning much more about bitcoin and how it could help shape our world financial sectors.
Its coming faster than most had expected! Smoke that in yer pipe!
