It dipped down to $2000 a few weeks ago through panic selling, and a week later it was back up to $2800. The panic sellers from a few weeks ago must have regretted it, and today's panic sellers will probably regret it.
There's no particular rhyme or reason to any of it. I wouldn't want to be in the mind of someone heavily shorted or longed at present. I assume there's not much going on in there other than screeching. Now is the perfect time to buy and HODL, then buy more if it goes any lower. Today's market is too unpredictable to go short or long. Agreed, This might be our buy zone and then again so could 1500 although the trend line is very near. Good advice on cost averaging. |

I'm not sure a back test of those levels are entirely needed. Why do I think so? Bitcoin received acceptance from fortune 500"s to mom and pop shops plus many new developments during the climb to support its value changes. Bitcoin as a whole is just starting to be understood by the early majority for its potentials beyond an early adopters investment vehicle. Its clear that the people want it but also have fear. If fear wins we go back to a prescribed debt bubble banking system and wait for that to show more results. I think we'll follow above the trend line given the gravity of development. Imagine the feeding frenzy if it went to 1100 |

I'd call this a bad sign. This same kid's story got trotted out at the height of the last bubble in 2013. Along with the story of a EU guy that found bitcoin on an old hard drive that he paid $27, then at the time in 2013 they were suddenly worth $886k. Stay wary my friends. And no, I'm not trolling. I'm a permabull still 90% in who has been through these Bitcoin cycles before, and have seen how this market works. Remember, the MSM is no friend to Bitcoin. Re-buy at $200 then we can start all over again? You never know. ETH went through a flash crash. There's always the chance that real Satoshi (if it is indeed one person and not a foundation) dies and the estate will have to liquidate to pay the estate taxes. (If Satoshi is a citizen of one of the countries that imposes such ridiculous taxes. US citizen would be bad. Japanese citizen would be even worse.) People forget that we have Satoshi's massive holdings hanging over our heads. Maybe Satoshi would never destroy his creation, but do you really think a government is going to care if they crash the market or not when demanding their estate taxes? FUD  Super cheap coins! That would inevitably be a short term crash and at this point, those coins would get eaten immediately. After said event, massive confidence would return to the market with the new distribution. The only thing that could destroy bitcoin is people finding no real use for it any longer. For now that is certainly not happening. |

Peg it to gold, how will you commonly state value. I agree, I hope we dont define the world by FIAT of just one country and a country which doesnt balance its trade or its national budget is probably not a stable gauge no matter how meetings are held in that hope.
I mean we could have a bi metallic standard in crypto. Bitcoin and a minor coin its stated relative to, must be some way to find a ratio that reflects the market?
Gold isn't a good peg either since its valued in fiat. and such is our so called "market". I think for bitcoin to be truly successful we may eventually need to redefine its value structure as it relates to our failing democratic approach. |

Yes, could be an head and shoulder. But not yet confirmed In my opinion, this is just scare tactics to get you to drop your coins. The timing is perfect for an engineered dump. I hope one day we no longer find it necessary to peg btc to the dollar. |

If a billionaire attempted a hostile takeover, the proof of work could be changed rather trivially.
This is a point! This is why I believe in Core. But how fast it could be done until we need a massive rollback Buterin's style? It's going to cost a lot of money for such an attempt to take place. Usually billionaries are very wary on where and how they spend their money, otherwise they wouldn't be billionaries in the first place.  If the intent were to snuff out bitcoin as competition to banks, losing some money would not be a concern if it was to ensure theirs does not go valueless to a new successor. |
