1201  Other / Meta / Re: MERIT on: March 27, 2018, 09:58:40 PM

Hi I'm Jr.member here but i don't know how to gain MERIT.
Please give me some idea. And i have read other post that you didn't ranked up from Jr.member to Member if you have not MERIT. Is that true?
If you have truly read the post about ranking up as you have claimed, you wouldn't be asking if it's true. Of course it is true!

And I hate to do this; but your post history speaks more on the reason why you don't get any merit. Its because of some horrible posters that is why the merit system was introduced at the first place.

If you want to get merits my advice is; don't beg or seek for it. Contribute to this forum genuinely without bothering about the merits and it will flow in. I know the desire for merits to rank up is because of the signature campaign but it shouldn't be our number priority for been in this forum.

And moreover, this topic should be on the Meta section not here.
1202  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto-related news and info on: March 27, 2018, 08:00:28 AM
Now this is one hell of a great project! OP, The idea is outstanding, its like putting everything in one place. The poster above has good points. Just to add; it will be good if this coins profiles have a review options where people who already have the coins can say something about it just to make it easier for those who want to invest.
Also, if its possible; let there be a feature whereby a user can easily covert or sell one coin for another in the site. If this is done, please, the site security should be extremely tight.

Do let us know if this project is complete. Love to see what it looks like.  Smiley

1204  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Money = Cashless Society on: March 25, 2018, 08:18:55 PM
In my state, its almost same as China but there are still many offline stores that collects cash from their customers. Here, there are many people who stops or opt-out from using the credit cards because according to them, it makes them spend more. You don't blame them though, everyone have their preference. I don't think the world may adapt or become a cashless society.
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot be a global currency on: March 25, 2018, 05:38:19 AM
Of course, Bitcoin can be a world currency. However, Bitcoin is not valid in all countries. But seeing the popularity of Bitcoin,it will be the world currency for a time.Only the bitcoin has been known in all the countries, which could not make any other coins.Everywhere they are Bitcoin, world Currency Will be.
No matter how popular bitcoin may become, it will never be the world currency. Its an independent and decentralized coin. The government won't even let that happen because  every courts current is a symbolization of what the countries is and using bitcoin as the world currency will stripe away this value. But if it is bitcoin becoming popular; it will surely be and it will mostly be used online.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Criteria of a good gambler on: March 25, 2018, 03:46:53 AM

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler
I think managing of time its most important and tops it all; its the essential thing a good gambler should try to emulate. Because when you manage your time; you play less and when you play less; you control  your urges to keep on playing. And when you control your urges to keep on playing; you become less addicted and you loss less. Its a web chain thing. Cause one bad incident leads to another.
1207  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: cryptocurrency names in arabic on: March 24, 2018, 09:58:00 PM
The real question here, why is there a need to translate names at first place? and should they really be translated? like do you translate your name when you travel to some other country?
I wondered also. I am curious about this myself. Probably from where he resides, there is a need for that or probably he might have seen people asking for help to translate the crypto names for easy investment. There are a lot of people who want to invest in digital coins but the only thing that is holding them down is the language barrier. Not everyone speaks and understands english. They don't want to be left out.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is the best among altcoins? on: March 24, 2018, 05:45:12 PM
I don't know why you guys are leaving Ethereum behind. As for me, Ethereum is a very good coin and it will continue to be next after after bitcoin. Though, I see ADA (Cardona) and XLM (stellar) going places in the future too but that will be after Ethereum. Most coins in the market now are just the repetition of what some coins are. Its only fewer developers that have outstanding ideas for new coins.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin going to be forever pump and dump? on: March 24, 2018, 12:32:54 PM
Well, unfortunately yes it is. Its just in it nature to be unstable. These dumps and pumps in cryptocurrency are as a result of how people buy and sell; the higher people buy, it pumps and the higher people sell, it dumps. Its not in anybody nature to make it stable. And it sometimes shows that they are not been manipulated. But if you want a coin which might be stable one day, then go for Ripple.
1210  Economy / Economics / Re: Will future paper money disappear? on: March 24, 2018, 09:09:01 AM
Paper money is planned to be disappeared, I don't think that bitcoin is going to be the thing that will make it disappear but anyway, the governments don't like the paper money because it's hard to control, and harder to print.
People can transact paper money with the need of approval, while they can't transact electronic money without the  need of approval( not talking about bitcoin), even if cryptocurrencies will fail, I think that governments will push people to use credit cards instead of cash.

The government don't like the paper money? I don't think so. They might say they don't but its a complete hoax because indirectly, they are gaining from it. Credit cards its good but have you consider people who trade offline, that aren't making use of POS? In as much as technology is good and moving places, there are some people whom are still lacking behind. So paper money can't disappear, it will continue to be.
1211  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am a time-traveler from the future, here to beg you to stop what you are doing on: March 24, 2018, 07:26:15 AM
Lol...the post title made me open the thread but seeing that its Reddit  Roll Eyes oh Lord...will they never cease to amaze me. I read the whole article. I don't believe in time travellers though but the way the guy seems to lay down his claims might force some people to believe him and whoever backed out from bitcoin because of these is just a confuse being. True, we don't know what the future hold, we'll just wait to see it.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich people don’t gamble. on: March 24, 2018, 03:57:35 AM
The rich also gamble. But as I know, instead of looking for profit they have another agenda. Usually they play with a relationship in business or something similar to it just to make the relationship closer or make the relationship more strict. Business deals often occur from the gambling table.
My point too. Unlike the rich, the poor goes into gambling because they are looking to make some money out of it. But the rich, though its not usually that they gamble because of business deals but because of the fun in it. May of them, love to throw in some money whenever they enter into any casino, they love to be admired as the biggest and popular gambler with huge money to throw in any casino. An addicted rich gambler don't care if they are losing, they just want the fame and the ladies all around them.
1213  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where i can learn more about blockchain? (currently important online courses on: March 23, 2018, 05:18:18 PM

One of the advantages of online learning is that it allows their users to study at their own pace so meaning to say, you make your own schedule e.g. one hour everyday or whenever you have free time on the contrary offline learning has a fixed schedule which you have to follow consistently in order not to miss a single lesson, in other words it'll become one of your main priorities.
Ya, you're right. Learning courses online helps users to make out their time and also multi-task with other activities and if possible learning other different courses but I think studyibv about blockchain offline will be a better option, that is, a face to face interactions with the tutor as it will create opportunity for easy questioning and physical practical directions. I don't where OP reside but their are some countries with poor internet; one disadvantage of online learning.
1214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Do you believe the MtGox trustee is saying the truth? on: March 23, 2018, 03:10:51 PM
It looks like this story is getting twisted day after day. I don't know if it's their rivals that are getting back at them to put them in more bigger mess by paying the media to write controversial articles about them. But from the stories I read and followed up;  it is said that they 'sold' the coins not 'moved' them. And they even confirm that more will be sold out then. I will be remain neutral on this till all is resolved.
1215  Other / Meta / Re: Please help remove a ban from my account. on: March 23, 2018, 01:30:30 PM
Do you mean that there was a small amount of time between my messages? But i write messages when i have a burst of creative energy and at this time i do not pay attention to the time interval between messages.

Writing so much posts between a time interval because you are having a 'creative energy' shouldn't be an excuse for that. Its among the rules and you broke it. It was seen as spam which is why it was blocked. If I have been commenting on every post I read, probably my account would have been banned by now. You should comment on posts that interests you the 'most' not on every post you read.

And probably, you might have accessed your account with proxy or from an IP that have been banned; another reason that might have caused it. Well, just message them, probably a Mod might respond.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What alternative coin has a potential to follow the footprint of bitcoin does? on: March 22, 2018, 06:24:17 PM
Its not really about following the footprint of bitcoin but its about giving something bigger than bitcoin did. I could probably say Ethereum, IOTA and ADA but yet its confusing cause to me in these three I see higher innovations. But, we can't be fully sure for now since they are all on their early evolution. I'll say let's give it more years to know how far they go since there are many coins now.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse racing game on: March 22, 2018, 03:47:13 PM
In my place horse racing game is legal and gamblers put their bets on the horses of their choice, however there group of gamblers who place bets by themselves within the group they form and watch the game online or live on TV and distribute their bets to the winner after the game. This one is illegal. Do you have the same activity in your place and are you participating in horse racing gambling too?
Why exactly is that illegal? This is my first time of hearing such because in my place, we see it as a normal activities and just as same as every other betting in football etc. I believe that not everyone can make it to the value where the horse racing is happening live. And this shouldn't make others who want to watch or bet on it to feel left out in participating. Or else it has to do with culture for you people.
1218  Other / Meta / Re: Unmerit rule? on: March 22, 2018, 06:02:33 AM

Could and unmerit rule change anything? It could help even the higher ranks to stay more awake and want to mantain/earn more merits like the new users.
For example: If you don't earn one merit (or another form of reward) in a certain time, you lose one. One idea could be that you should earn a certain number of merits per month to maintain the others for example.
If this ever happen then this forum will be turned into a whining court  Lips sealed where there will be constant threads of cases from forum users demeriting eachother because of little disagreement or dislike. I am glad Theymos disabled that option.
It will be very surprising that people will use the demerit button more than the merit button because its somehow in people's nature to act in certain ways in getting back at people they don't like. And I agree, there are posts which are not getting the merits they deserve but what can one do; the world entirely is an unfair place. Everyone can't be pleased.
1219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest on Bitcoin now or wait? on: March 21, 2018, 11:54:34 PM
There is no perfect time for investing in any cryptocurrency because any price you are seeing now could Either be there highest you are seeing or the lowest.  I presume you were fortunate waiting for a price lower than the 8k last week but now it didn't went down gone up. I advise to you; invest now or the next price will be higher for you. For there is a possibility of it going 10k above this week.
1220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are charts useful for long term investors? on: March 21, 2018, 11:18:02 PM
One problem with charts is that they can be self fulfilling. If a chart says that a drop will happen, then it probably will as people follow the projection. Of course this is short term, but it is one way that fast reacting guys who can understand the charts can make money. The interesting time comes when two chart theories have opposite views.
Most times, I have this feelings that most chart are manipulated by whale and heavy investors to bend the market to their own interest. That is why sometimes you  see the market going according  to a particular prediction. Nevertheless, there are charts which seems not to be manipulated and can still be trusted. But every traders should be skeptical of the charts that directions their trades.
