Did China just eat ~2.5k ask wall???
1462  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 05, 2014, 04:48:23 AM

Damn look at the sell wall now on finex.

Are Fenix walls real or still easily faked?

i'm really liking the action right now, looks bullish, looks like poeple sodl when they should have hodl.... always hodl!

Looks bearish to meeee

Someone just dumped ~500 coins and less than 2 seconds later someone market orders 400.

I think we have a war.

It'll never compare to that day when whales where dumping and market ordering thousands of coins at a time. Anyone else remember that craziness? Something like 2-5kBTC market orders in both directions, for like 70k volume in an hour?

135000 new bitcoin every month x  current exchange rate $ 450 = $ 60750000 every month
someone needs to pay it with real money. But who ?

There are 4,000 new accounts every day only at My Wallet

https://blockchain.info/charts/my-wallet-n-users?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

4,000 * 30 = 120,000 new adopters monthly ... not enough bitcoins for everyone.

Im confused, where does the 30 figure come from? Thats not supposed to be the average investment is it? Because it should be about a tenth of that.

days i'm guessing. AKA 1 month

Ohhh, shit, its daily. Then that is impressive...

Plus most of those accounts are probably not "unique"

Around ten years from now only 450 or so coins will be mined per day.  There's only ever going to be 21 million regardless of how quickly any of us manage to get our hands on them.   Cool

21 milion will be mined for 120 year, regardless of mining speed (network hashrate),
but bitcoin will dies for next 5-6 months.

Even without mtgox demand outstrips supply by 10x atleast. Look at avg daily volume divide by 10. Now you know your answer if you know 1+1=2 gluck.

... what on Earth does daily volume have to do with demand?  Roll Eyes

Oke I'm changing to bearish. This whale is just flipping his coins for $10-20 profit, not real buys.

(unless $465 gets eaten, then I wont know what to think)
1469  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2014, 07:10:58 PM
Looks like some serious shorting going on - the sum of swaps on finex is 9.5K (if I remember well yesterday it was 8.5 then 9 then again 8.5).

Exactly, I just commented about it. Seem surprising to me - why shorting now, not a couple days before?

Doesnt seem surprising to me. The price is up a bit, and not with that much volume, so its a "safe" time to short.

1470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2014, 05:41:33 PM
Hmm, the ask sum is strangely stable with all of these buys.

Either

A: Most of the coins that this whale is buying is from him bidding and getting sold in to (I know they place bid walls, but is it really >>50% sold in to rather than market orders while the price rises?)
B: They're in for a quick buck. New walls showing up at 472.

1471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2014, 04:01:35 PM
This guy is really loading up on coins without moving the price... makes me very optimistic.
1472  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2014, 03:43:42 AM
Lookin good but need to see that bid sum start rising before I'll believe this is anything other than a bull trap.
1473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 30, 2014, 05:41:38 PM
So I watched some videos of these 'shared space' intersections.

As expected, traffic slows to a crawl and that is in a tiny, barely used set of roads.

Lol@people thinking these are a serious replacement for city lights.
1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 30, 2014, 03:50:20 PM
pure example of why control and centralisation is useless and can be avoided with minimum harm:

http://www.tuxboard.com/photos/2014/04/pas-besoin-de-rond-point.gif

Blind luck? You can't really call a roundabout centralisation.
Not the best example of subsidiarity since I'm guessing quite a few people have ended up in hospital on that road. Just not in the ~20 frames of that gif.

hmm i dont know, i mean, sure there must have been people ending up in hospital, but i dont think it outnumbered the people ending up in hospital in countries with road signals..
The point being adaptation. but yeah, im no expert, just trying to provide you folks with some illustrations and awesome gif Cheesy

Actually <10 seconds on google reveals India to be one of the worst places for traffic accidents in the world.

Yup,and that gif is at ~500% speed. Terrible intersection, unsafe and slow versus controlled intersection.

This whale is awesome.

Any thoughts on this one? News released today. This could crash the price hard. 385000BTC for $3M USD? what?

http://www.coindesk.com/us-government-sells-silk-road-users-seized-bitcoins-for-3-million/

if they sold 380,000 btc for 3m, that would be $12 each. - must be a portion, or Im missing out on some seriously 'cheap coins'
The congressmen probably used 5 year weighted price averaging to give themselves a sweetheart deal.

artificial pump  is there, prepare for shocking dump;)

Its the natural bounce, but there is some reasonable support on China for it. nice manipulative dump on Bstamp tho.

Damn China nearly to pre-dump levels. Stamp still going wtf after the wanna-be-dumper.
