Official TerraHash representative here.

In order to be classified as a "scam", we have to be accepting money from you. All the folks who have contacted us since this morning, asking to place a pre-order, we have told them that we are not accepting any orders until we have something to ship.

Regarding the address, its not an alley, it is a wharehouse/retail space. It is for rent (see link below[1]). We are in the process of finalizing the lease. We don't have anything to do yet, as we all know Avalon has not released the specs yet. We will be buying the chips boards in bulk from BkkCoins (we are already in talks with him). We are already in talks with different suppliers for the components (again waiting for the Klondike design to be finished). We have already ordered automatic assembly machines (solder paste dispensers, SMT pick and place, reflow oven etc.).

The reason we went ahead with the press release so early is to gain hold in this market that is going to get very competitive soon.

I won't be replying to this thread anymore, and will be starting a new really official thread.

Thanks all.

Thanks. Just to be clear, the "outside company" where the boards will be assembled, is owned by one of our partners. Its a brand new facility with an SMT assembly line set up for a project which won't start getting manufactured for another 5-6 months. So, we have full access to the SMT assembly line for the next few months.

It's really good to see terra FINALLY actually getting involved in the BKK thread, but that is not the same as giving a useful contribution.

Its a nice show thou  Grin

After seeing some of terrahash's recent posts in the Klondike thread I feel better knowing they are not a scam, no scammer could make those kinds of comments.

I am thinking that this level of activity indicates that the chips are out in shipping and everyone producing this knows the time is truly limited now.

you two should get a room as well.  Tongue

Enjoy your refunds children.

Avalon chips inbound,  I'll gladly pay "$1200" for a case if it means supporting Terrahash to build a miner.

They are not making very much on the actual boards/chips.

I'd say that every cancellation means I move up in the queue, but I'm the first order so it doesn't really affect me.

I hope everyone that does move up due to childlike emotional cancellations enjoys watching everyone receive their miners.

I expect them to receive the avalon chips right after BkkCoins gets his board fully functional. Timing seems to work out nicely!

I see some nice pictures, but no where does it say the chips are being released by avalon as yet !

Gridchip's original post is not here, and it's all chinese.
Based on Gridchip's post:
  • Gridchip designed the 110nm chip for Avalon.
  • Now,Gridchip is working on 40nm chip,so there is no 40nm chip now.
  • And Gridchip want to do the sell (40nm chip) directly, not with Avalon any more.
  • Gridchip post those picture to prove what he said.
  • There MAYBE some delay because TSMC is busy, just MAYBE.
  • And the 40nm chip hash rate will be 2-2.5G

Dude you have a serious problem, you have been calling TH a scam from day 2,
You have a link in your signature about it.
You are officially a stalker of Terrahash, you feel like you have to warn the world about them and they have yet to get to the date that they said they would have chips or ship items. You never even gave them a chance and you call them scam when they have shown chip orders, prototype boards, prototype cases?

Let's break this down a bit.

They have shown chip orders:
They stated that they purchased a total of 40,000 chips but so far no proof beyond the original 10,000 that they purchased in may, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198489.msg2511675#msg2511675

People have repeatedly asked them to show proof of other chip orders, why would they not show this to appease the gigantic shit storm that is going on right now?

They have prototype boards:
They have boards that they will most likely have to throw away because they jumped the gun and bought who knows how many boards BEFORE BKK was done with his prototype.

They have prototype cases:
They have a picture of exactly 1 prototype that they might have to change because they jumped the gun on their design BEFORE BKK was done with his prototype. That by the way they are selling for $1200.00 that other folks have stated they can build for $200.00.

The very first post in this thread states that they have purchased 20,000 chips. So far no proof that they purchased more than 10,000.

We have ordered 20,000 chips from Avalon. We will be ordering Klondike boards, as soon as the design is ready. We are in process of ordering all the other components. Once we have everything, we will assemble the boards and sell them.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198489.msg2682939#msg2682939
TerraHash states that they will not be taking pre-orders, roughly 1 month later they turn around and open up sales, stating that folks that signed up early on will get 24 hours or so to purchase and then everybody else will be able to. The day of the pre-order everybody is able to purchase. Later that day people are confused by the order numbers that they have jumping around in ways that do not make sense, TerraHash publicly states that they do not know how their commerce cart works, A forum member helps out by pointing to woocomerce's help guide on how there ordering system works and why the numbers are not in normal primary key order. We then find out later that more than likely they opened up pre-orders because their $100,000+ order with cloudhashing went wrong.

People have been asking about their team, TerraHash states they will be posting soon about their team members. Have you seen it, please post it if you have, because it must be hidden.

They changed their refund policy and decided it was best not to tell anyone.

They are refusing refunds based upon their changed refund policy, completely disregarding the FTC law that states you MUST promptly refund anyone in full for any reason anytime prior to you shipping.

They stated last week or so that they where going to upload a video, they can't even make a video and upload it.

Misrepresented their business address, had privacy protection on their website, the list just goes on and on and on and on.

They are continuously making promises that they are breaking.

What koolaid are you drinking man!

Fair Assessment, I think you nailed it..

I once met William shatner at a graduation.  He refused to shake my hand, so you motherfuckers KNOW that I am the real deal. Don't disrespect me.  I once made a living doing some stuff, and I know karate and other Japanese words, so I think it is perfectly clear that I won't be told what to do by ANY of you dog fuckers.   Cops, ninjas...   Ghosts.    It'll be done in about 2 weeks.
+10000

I once got a PCB printed that was unfinished and did not work, It looked pretty so lots of people gave me there money. I cant get it to work so am ordering some new pcb`s of a still unfinished design. The people who gave me money are worried and some are asking for it back. I`ll tell them no because this proves am not a scammer. Grin

THIS IS a board hashing  Grin
1716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 10, 2013, 02:58:25 AM
Nice to see the pic of the board hashing. When I visit them in the next 2 days, I will video it working.

MinermanNC...... thanks for the acid laced admonishment. It's clear that you're not here to make friends. I said that I don't appreciate being pushed. I am making this visit for all of us, and the least you can do is be polite and wait a couple of days. I don't work for you, and I'm not the company you placed an order with. I know everyone says that you have to be "thick skinned" to be on these boards, but a little civility goes a long way. I guess hiding behind a screen gives certain individuals the balls they need to verbally flay people, but I think that behavior is unacceptable. I didn't put up with it as a deputy sheriff and I don't take kindly to it now. The anonymity of the net can bring out the worst in people. It's amusing for the first few pages, but gets old after reading through 100 pages of vitriol. Would you prefer to make the long trip to Terrahash yourself, or would you appreciate it if I went? I am not making this visit for you, but you will certainly benefit from it.

I want to thank everyone else here for your kind words. I won't let you guys down.

THAT is NOT a board hashing. That is a board that is f##ked up.
1717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 10, 2013, 02:02:25 AM
As you all know we are NOT designing the board or the software. We are just following BKKcoins. He just got his board working yesterday, and we are just following his footsteps.

If just following in footsteps how are you able to predict such a precise delivery date?

Are u able to post that Video TH? Or the proof of additional chips you said you secured?

And.... they are offline before any of these were answered.

Perhaps they just switched users !  Wink

If you really want to do this then I recommend

Raspberry PI
10 port Hub
x no. block erupters

You probably be wasting your money and will not make ROI, but it may satisfy your urge.

or

Wait a couple of months and start with some Klondike K1`s, you may just get your money back then.  Wink

You need to read  a lot more before you continue.

1719  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: July 09, 2013, 11:37:42 PM
My 11 arrived this morning and all is good.
The only problem am having is displaying more than 9 in cgminer, i can tell there all there just not all in the first list.
Do i need to add something to the config file?

(windows 7)

EDIT : SOLVED a couple of restarts of cgminer done the trick

Not so solved,

when starting cgminer 5 or 6 are recognized almost immediately, the rest come in a few seconds later but the last few more often than not are not listed  Huh

anyone else have this problem ?
Hotplugged ones on windows stopped enlarging the window in the last version of cgminer because the interface library "pdcurses" used on windows crashes randomly when we do this so it's safer to not try to show any hotplugged devices until we can find some meaningful workaround. Linux doesn't have this issue.

thanks for the explanation, I can live with it as is, until I get my PI running....
1720  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: July 09, 2013, 09:24:54 AM

is the fan needed for the asicminers?

Not at all, but it's nice to have.  I think the heatsinks do a lot more to cool the chips down

Mine were really hot, I put a desk fan on them (low speed) and now there cool as cucumbers. I think it really helped but is a bit of an overkill till my new fan arrives.
