Have you personally ordered from either company?
I've ordered from Bitmain yes; products arrived in 3 days and worked. Have I ordered from the website that was setup last week, that using a "domainsbyproxy" whois and sells for 150% markup....no So your suggestion is ordering from a factory in China, because domain proxy and sells 150% markup. After checking seems there is no address from your refereed company Bitmain and they also us domain protection. Delivery 3 days within ASIA, isn't that where your are located? Are you the Shrill? I asked a newbie question and my point may be a little aggressive simply because all the fraud going online because people are so quick to refer someone based on "price" rather than assurance and that's what my self really look at. Can anyone suggest a website located here in the USA that they have had experience with? People are suggesting Bitmain for good reason. They deliver, and they are NOT a scam and they are the best price. Why would anyone order from an unknown entity at a greater price with no guarantee of shipping. If you can pay on pick-up that's a whole other story. Look through the bitmain threads for the good the bad and the ugly. It is mostly all good... |

Also, installing a 7.5K resistor was very successful. Gained 3Ghs (57-60) and error rate went down to around .34% (was 1.9% at 57Ghs). Temps went up 4 Degrees though.  Still this mod seems to be a very easy way to push an underperforming single/jala up to speed. This sounds g8, any chance of a pic identifying that resistor. R36 and R11 I think. Will be between two of the ASICs. Should have 828 on the top. It will be a 7K resistor. Ok, I see R36,R11 in the photos above one for each side. Not really into SMT but think I can do this. Are these a 0402 package ? Thanx |

How did you sent the chips ? What kind of transport did you choose with your order? Why are you trying to turn this on us? You had my chips*, and I payed for my shipping*, you expressed no problems on our part back in December or again in early January. And I have not seen a post where you have said our orders are ready, get your shipping to collect. It is not fair to blame us, even if some of us did not pay for shipping, the boards where not ready were they. To imply that this is in some way the fault of your customers is damn insulting. *It would appear that tracking by DHL does not work once packages get on Bulgarian soil, and you have ignored my requests to confirm that you where in receipt of the chips. *At the time of my first order, I believed that you where looking for alternative shipping options as speedy was so costly, so I did not initially pay for shipping. I payed for shipping on my second order and asked you to combine shipping. I will pay you for any extra costs that you incur for this, once you send me a PM with the amount and a payment address (in BTC) as I promised to do so. In fact I insist on this. I am a man of my word and despite the poor service my honor is paramount. NOW, would you please confirm that the correct documents have been issued as my tracking lists the parcel has not left there office in Sofia yet. |

Its scam a day here at the moment, some verification needs to be done. If bitmain confirms this it would be great.

I finally got my boards, did not have enough time to test all, but what I can says for now is 3 boards consume around 400+ Watts at 480mhz 1.45v and hash somewhere about 7ghash
I will post pictures and more info hopefully before monday.
Glad you got your order, mine is with speedy ( in sofia if u believe there tracking). Did you get a ButterflyLabsTechnoBit Mug with your order ? I understand you frustration, but please do understand that all last hex16a (avalon1) orders were to be combined in 1 batch on PCB and PnP house.
It is not possible to be produced in batches of 2 or 7 or 15 pcs, or it is going to be too expensive.
On the side of customer support We have a lot to improve and We are going to.
Again We are sorry for the terrible customer service that We did or did not provide you.
We are thinking of some kind of present for all of you that will have orders shipped late.

Most Old UK and Australian domestic services will have 100A Switch Disconnectors as a Main Switch however they are fused at 60 or 80A on the supply side (in the street). Which is why Main Switches are being replaced with MCB's of a sutible rating so the supply authorities fuse will not blow ( as the supply authority have recently started to charge the customer when it does).
Yes, I suppose I should have been more specific there. The derating is for your main circuit breaker. That's interesting that in the UK there is no customer side main protection in the form of a fuse or CB. I don't imagine that's current code, but how long ago was it standard to have the main fuse on the supply side and only branch fuses on the customer side? Well the suppliers cutout (fuse) that is sealed to prevent the customer interfering with it, is just before the metering (usually no more than .5 mtrs from the switch board) so it is protecting very little before the outgoing circuits. Really its true purpose is to protect the incoming cable (although its on the wrong side, not the best design.) But it stops you overloading the main cable. I haven't been in the UK for a while, but just checked a uk wholesalers website and they are still selling the Switchboards with a Double Pole 100A Main Switch so am guessing they haven't moved on there yet. Technically the Main Switch is only for consumer Isolation, it provides a minimum gap (Air) for safe work. Here in Australia it has been common to replace the Main Switch with an MCB, as the use of overhead lines here is common and this cabling more often than not travels some of the roof space before reaching any consumer protection, this is a very good idea. However, (and I could be wrong here) as far as I was aware an MCB does not provide a significant air gap to be classified as a Main Switch or Dis-connector for the purpose of Isolation and safe work. Am really interested how this pans out for Aussies, am sure the Electrical Safety Office is aware of this issue as they have directed us to remove the main link (solid fake fuse) before caring out work however this requires resealing by the supply authority afterwards.. So Technically Aussies have no safe electrical disconnection on the consumers side. Anyway this has gone way off topic now so let me just say. If in doubt contact an Electrician |

Things are never straight forward. A Main Switch is just a switch, If it is rated @100A it is designed to switch 100A on occasion. (manual switching). It could possibly take double that current for short periods without problems (I would not recommend this). It is just a switch.. and provides zero protection only a means of disconnection and Isolation. To confuse the matter further sometimes MCB's are labeled Main switch, as they are providing a means of disconnection and additional protection. At my current location it is favorable to use an MCB instead of a main switch. I would not recommend exceeding 80% of its current rating for continuous use. Unless you want nuisance tripping.  Most domestic MCB's are type C on sub-circuits, if you are happy that you have a decent sub-circuit (short and correct cable size with few additional outlets) you can always replace this with type D if you wish to limit tripping ( these are predominantly used in industry for items like motors to get over the start surge, but maybe useful if you switch the whole rig on at the same time and your mcb trips) More common in new installations now are combined mcb/rcd or RCCD's and in some countries RCD protection is compulsory on circuits containing socket outlets. I am not aware of any RCCD's that are not of type C without great expense. These provide an additional layer of protection by monitoring the current on the live and neutral conductors and disconnecting if there is an imbalance between them. Test them every 3 months. Each circumstance is very different and blanket statements can be dangerous, I would not like to comment on the above case as I have never dealt with US 110V, most electricians will give advise for free in hope of further work.. If you are getting close to the ratings of your circuits consult an electrician, think about your future plans first as a sub-board would probably be beneficial to many of you guys in the US. |

I'm in the UK, SouthernGentUK, and it took up to 7 days for my orders to be delivered after their order system changed from "payment accepted" to "shipped". I've had three shipments and none came with any tracking number it was blank on the e-mail. Thanks, I sometimes think it is better not to have tracking (if tracking is substandard). Am not actually in the UK anymore, its just a distraction I'll get around to changing it one day, but it's been with me for 10+ years on the net and its hard to let go  |

Read through the last 14 or so pages, just when I though I had it, I lost it So Rebecca's Internal foundry is actually some guys rear posterior, somebody knows who but does not want to admit how they found out, some probing of others ip's happened and searing became an evil genius overnight Perhaps we need a policeman mod on the forums, with the soul job of checking ip's for scams and socks.
