you really need a reflow oven, if you are not aware of that I would guess it is probably beyond you.

However if you are really that keen then read through the klondike thread in the custom hardware thread as I believe the k16 is almost ready to go for 2 nd gen Avalon
1282  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Putting out miners that set on fire on: January 12, 2014, 12:41:05 AM
The product you are talking about already exists, They use it in data centers and on commercial cooking equipment.  Some use c02 and some use halon.  However, good electrical practices and regular inspection would probably be a better option.

From memory I think the systems were Halon or co2 (long time ago) however the systems I have seen usually where activated by the fire alarm system and incorporated disconnection of electricity supply - no point putting it out if it will reignite..

Another point to note- the rooms had strobes to indicate activation ( in addition to audible ) primarily to prevent suffocation..  Shocked

Yep,  They dissipate all of the oxygen so nothing can burn.  You don't want to be in a room when one goes off.  Some are activated electrically(24v) and some use a big ass spring and a lead link.

I've seen the lead link system in boiler houses, they sit just above the burner in front of the boiler door. There also used for fire barriers in AC ducting.

For those interested it is basically to pieces of lead that overlap and is held together with solder that has a set melt temperature. Good for high heat fires not so good with smoke fires.

Anyone interested in rigging up a smoke detector to auto shut of the supply, I can provide some advice.

I tried finding better photos for your units, could you post a photo of the unit against a white backgroubnd in several angles,
thanks

place a piece of paper with your forum name on the desk with the units so its visible in the photos.

ref : 3

Look at the activity no. - higher the better, but also look through there past posts, some people have high activity because they spam alot of threads. Read some of there posts and peoples reaction to there posts and you will soon get a feel of how trusted they are.

basically once you have show you can deliver in good time then you will have no need for escrow anymore.

Just get your first unit out there and they will post un-boxing pictures ext.. and confidence will build quickly from that..

1285  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Best-miner.com 220G bitcoin miners official group buy, 2.5 BTC on: January 11, 2014, 10:34:52 AM
Seems no need to argue anymore, whether you believe or not, we are a really bitcoin miners seller, and anybody have opportunity to visit Guangzhou, you could visit us as our address is open.
If this group buy is off, it is ok, we still could sell it from google and to Chinese.
Anyway, thanks for competitors and suspicious.

There are three options that work well here.

1. Sell with Escrow through a known member like Johnk

or

2. Get a respected member to vouch for you.

or

3. Send out a unit to a trusted member for review.

Good Luck

You cant jump into the forum trying to sell something and open multiple ID's and use them to talk up you product.

OK, your new here that's fine, but you have just seriously hindered your sales by using multiple accounts to pump yourself's up.
1288  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Best-miner.com 220G bitcoin miners official group buy, 2.5 BTC on: January 11, 2014, 09:22:58 AM
From your other thread.
No offence but no-one in this thread has any credibility, all low activity.

The website looks nice, would be better if prices where in BTC or atleast a calc to do it.

If you want you can overnight me a sample unit, that would give you some cred  Wink

Most forum members have seen this time and time again.

All members in the other thread joined the same hour - this is old and doesn't work very well here.

I suspected as such, couldn't be arse'd to look, am so use to it now.

Seriously though, they can post me a unit and i'll give it a full review..  Grin

I believe a normal ATX power supply has built in protection, I have been considering an alternative DC supply, this would require some proper distribution, perhaps automotive fuses, to prevent such an occurrence.  Look for RV distribution boards on ebay perhaps.

Your main 12V DC could pass through a 12V relay/contactor and run its coil of the aux contacts of a smoke detector (most mains smoke detector manufacturers do an auxiliary unit for similar purposes)

Just make sure your contactor uses a hold on circuit with a manual "on" button, so it wont re energize in your absence.

1293  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX8A1 - 6/8 chip Coincraft A1 board on: January 11, 2014, 05:59:36 AM
I would be interested in these boards but am also discouraged by experience, as you are aware.

How about some priority (guaranteed first shipment) order/shipping for us guys who have remained so patient ( maybe you could chuck my other order in the same box.)

Regards
1294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Terraminer IV (February batch) is the difficulty too high? on: January 10, 2014, 12:49:56 PM
I made more BTC with 7GH of USB's than with 60 GH of late BFL ( thanx BFL)

No ROI in $$$$ or BTC yet.

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. To make on pre-order is a gamble that has paid off for only a minority here.

My biggest mistake has been buying hardware with the BTC mined.

I think this is the time to let the network settle, by the calcs most miners in hand will be worthless in about 4 months. If you can't get ROI in BTC in 8 weeks then forget it and buy/hoard coin.

I honestly don't believe Steve went in to scam people. But it's pretty clear that he's in a hole that have left people holding the bag.

SouthernGent, can you put a poll on the thread, so we can get an idea of how many of us are willing to persue legal recourse?

Poll added, I added the bottom one for me, as I have been settled and therefore am trying to restrict my posts and opinions as much as possible.

I do not believe Steve started out to scam, however he saw an opportunity to make a quick buck with our coins and took it, problem being the quick buck didn't turn up and the HUGE price increase blew up his plan..

A scam is a scam despite intentions.

I am keeping an eye out here, just not as often as I should. If you require any maintenance of the thread please feel free to shoot me a PM, as I nearly missed the request for a poll..

He moaned since God was a cowboy about how godawful broke he was and how desperate he was for an ASIC, any ASIC...

Congrats cowboy, nice that someone came through for you. Smiley

Next challenge: get a cycle maker to send you an evaluation mountain-bike... Wink

-MarkM-

I didn't find this particularly offensive, please try harder.   Wink
