Anyone from Jr. Member and up can't be nuked, unless a Mod manually removes enough of their posts to derank them back to Newbie. Is there a reason why trust comments cannot be edited, only deleted? Without an edit history, it would be unclear what you wrote at which date. There isn't if you just delete a trust comment and re-enter it corrected/edited either which you can do, so why not just allow an edit? Either way there is no "paper trail." I have personally experienced issues with this where users had left me a negative rating, then after making a topic and leaving my own negative rating for them they deleted it and reposed it to muddy the waters and make it look as if I was the first to do so over nothing. If people had not previously seen it there was no other way to verify short of staff checking logs and they aren't going to do so for that kind of petty nonsense. |

These discussions about religion are never going to end. Christians vs muslims vs hindus vs atheists vs agnostics and so on. It's just sad to think how divided people are because of this. We brand people in general even if there are also different factions and believes within that certain religion. No compromise, no giving ground, either you're with us or against us. It's just disheartening to think there will never be real peace between humans.

Its called a dead man's switch. It is well known in the cloak and dagger world of spooks and spies. It is not a James Bond type device (usually). Usually the way people who carry such sensitive data that might get them killed protect themselves is they either hand it to several sources with instructions to release on their death or vanishing and or they have some type of encryption that auto-releases upon him not triggering it to stay encrypted which must be done every X days months years etc. Wasn't he being denied internet use at the end of his stay, since he was accused of stealing Wi-Fi? I think it's sad to see he was just bluffing. Also the fake news says he won't be extratidated to the US because he could face the death penalty here. Don't see any mention of that here As I mentioned in my last comment, it is possible it is on a timer and needs to be regularly refreshed. He has been releasing encrypted caches since 2010. Such a dead man's switch would only need to release decryption keys to the internet with the applicable cache file name and then the chaos would ensue. He was cut off from the internet but not all forms of contact. He could have done this task by phone or even passed instructions to 3rd parties to keep the information locked up. There is a window of time between his arrest and who knows how long that this info could be released at any moment. |

This guy is clearly quite a douchenozzel, but I can see there being unintended negative consequences as a result of nuking trust ratings from banned users. I would support this being done say before they become a senior member or something such as that, but if nuking is the new S.O.P. I can see people finding ways to use this as a tool to get people banned in various ways in order to clear unwanted ratings.
