1381  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Feature that should be added on: October 09, 2015, 01:28:32 PM
Under file it should have "Write offline transaction" and "Put offline transaction online" or something along those words.  Already has sign/verify message, sweet feature.

maybe a donation to pay for their time would sway them to divert resources away from security and onto user-friendly.

Really Franky .... We should not encourage bribery as a method to influence Bitcoin development  Wink Or should we sell out to the highest bidder, when crappy ideas pass their table?

spazzdla - The whole idea with a online network, is to process transactions on the fly on the Blockchain in real time.. If you want to do that, rather go for a off-chain solution like Xapo, where you can do as many

transactions as you want, and only pay a fee when it goes on-chain.  Roll Eyes

My issue isn't fees it's security.  I don't want to type my passprhase on an online computer.  I will look into Xapo though.

What are you talking about? The Bitcoin core wallet? Which wallet? If you want a wallet that does this, the Feature is already available for almost all wallet. (Sign message)
And if you want offline signing, the feature is already available as well; https://bitcoinarmory.com/
I think by "write offline transaction" he means there should be a feature in which we can make or submit offline transactions from bitcoin core and by "Put offline transaction online" he means that once the system gets online then submit or sync the transactions with the netwok.

This is what I mean..

One should have an offline computer, I'd like to sign a transaction on it, burn it to a CD and post it onto the blockchain from my online computer.

Seeing as security is pretty much the #1 issue.. this seems rather important to me.

1385  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: good places to hide paper wallet ? on: October 08, 2015, 08:22:09 PM
I am searching for a good place to hide my paper wallet
i don't want any one to see it or try to scan the QR code
please don't give me silly places, I really want to hide it in secure place

THE GOV CAN AND WILL RAID A SAFTEY BOX IN THE BANK!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Dig a hole in the ground, DO NOT bring your cell with you.

IN your house, behind dry wall.. cut hole, put it here, patch hole.  Mud it well so no one knows.

You can sign messages with blockchain.info. Addresses -> Actions -> Sign message

I need to be signed on though eh..?

Of course, you need that to gain access to an address. :p

Just create a throwaway account Tongue

Eh, if in case he needs the address again, he needs to remember the mnemonics or write it down somewhere, just in case..

I need to be logged to sign but no need for verify.
1387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer R1 on: October 08, 2015, 08:20:11 PM
I'm not sure on that.  Look at what sidehack was able to do with a chip.  I mean it's able to do 8GH easily with no issues.
While the Compac will run passive at 8Gh/s, I wouldn't really recommend it - never mind if putting it into an enclosed space with limited surface area for cooling (which the R1 largely appears to be, ventilation holes notwithstanding).
I was surprised how hot the heat sink got when running a compac at only 125 freq, I put a fan on the one I have at that frequency right away after I touched it.

Still think they should make a U4 with the new chips.. I need another small miner.
Given the track record with the U3, I would say thanks but no thanks to a U4.  Instead, wait for gekko science to make their pod (link).  It will be what you are hoping for from a "U4", except the gekko version will work and you'll be supporting "the good guys" instead of a major international corporation.

I just bought their USb miner.

The only conflict I know if is with Icarus. If the New R-box support not built with Icarus (which seems likely) you should be able to compile a cgminer-gekko with support for both. I can't confirm that without testing, but probably.

I'm running a RPI.  I have the review stick, and black prototype one running on regular CGminer with Iccarus.  And 3 production models running on cgminer-gekko with compac support.

It works fine mixing these two with it just have to have two installs.  And then I select devices that should go with each cgminer instance.  Works out pretty well.  I have not ran them in one instance yet though.

So you have two mining programs runnig kind of idea?  OOH I do like this idea.. So I could mine BTC and something else with two miners connected to one computer?

I've done this with the core, is there a web based program to do this?  I know brainwallet could but it's offline now..
1392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntRouter R1 - 5.5 GH/s BTC Miner / Wireless Networking Device on: October 08, 2015, 06:14:34 PM
I've read about this little miner in Reddit and just lol'ed myself to the comments I've been seeing. I wonder why would they sell that kind of stuff at that price when in fact I can just buy some USB miners just for fun?  Cheesy

I don't get the hate... if you need a wireless repeater this is a really neat idea.. My room is like an iron shield.. this will prove very useful for me and I get a chance at 25 btc.
1393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntRouter R1 - 5.5 GH/s BTC Miner / Wireless Networking Device on: October 08, 2015, 05:46:08 PM
Are they crazy with that price? Also we already have quite a few topics on this little miner in the hardware section in case anyone is searching for information.

?? It's $30 usd.. ?? Huh

A repeater is like $30usd.. Seeing as I need a repeater.. I will be getting one lol.

New AntRouter R1 - 5.5 GH/s BTC Miner / Wireless Networking Device *Shipping begins October 2015*

The R1 can also be used as a controller to manage and run several AntMiner U3s. Connecting your U3 to the AntRouter R1 via a USB hub eliminates the need to keep the U3 plugged into your computer.

I wonder if it will run the "GekkoScience USB Compac BTC Miner (8-16 GH/s @ 0.3w/GH). "
1395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 08, 2015, 05:26:49 PM
No, I don't have YouTube anything since they started requiring attachment to a Google account to login - my YouTube account predated the buyout by a couple years.

This thread is basically the official source for information on setup. The first post has info on compiling cgminer to run a Compac; checking cgminer's readme file should give you the rest of what you need to know to enable Rockminer support. BFGMiner probably already has both miners in it by default.

The closest thing to the new product you're asking for which is in the works is a new idea we're working on, as described in this thread. We're still working on getting new-gen chips to play with so I don't have any designs based around them yet.

Ahh sweet, thanks for the help man!!

just got to thinking the Hz of these guys will be different... is CGminer going to run them both at the same Hz?

Dang sasa!! I like the support you're giving Smiley.

Anyone working on a phone wallet for this coin?

Sweet thanks!!

Do I need to change somehting for it to attempt use both for mining, or just shutdown CG and turn it back on?

Got a youtube video by chance on setting this little guy up?  I'm hoping to give it to my bro as a present but if he doesn't want it I'm gonna run it along side my "New" Rbox.

Any chance you're going to design something like the "new" Rbox with bitmains new chip?  They should partner with you for that.. ne ways lol.
1398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 08, 2015, 04:35:27 PM
Can I run this and a "New rbox" at the same time?
1399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer R1 on: October 08, 2015, 04:32:31 PM
I wish I could order 1 U3 instead of 20 alonght with an R1.. Sad..  I'll pay for shipping.

Still think they should make a U4 with the new chips.. I need another small miner.  S7 is just too much for me for hobby mining.

Look over in group buy's.  There are sellers such as crazy guy.  He sells them 1 at a time.

He is a very good seller.  There might be others but there are many ways to get 1 instead of that 20 order quantity.

I like to buy from Bitmain directly but no biggie.

I do to buy with MOQ 20 that is a lot of U3's to take on at once.   Honestly check out Crazy Guy's site or PM him - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=25223

I planned on getting 1, liked it so much ordered 2 more from him.  Hes top notch seller (and no I don't get paid for this endorsement Smiley ).  I just know he will treat you right though.

Sweet thanks for the reference.
