2261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are people really prepared to let Mazacoin die? on: March 07, 2014, 09:31:01 PM
Just want to clear some things up, based on my own little research and deductions, correct me if I am wrong.

People are going around spreading this article that the is not endorsed by the Lakota tribe.

http://www.indianz.com/News/2014/012781.asp

In essence this is true. But what is also a fact is there is actually a schism in the Lakota tribe, there is the traditional Oglala Lakota Nation which is recognized by the US federal government. On the flip side there is the Lakota Republic, which is a theoretical "break away" state/group that was founded by famed Indian activist Russell Means to reclaim lost Indian territory and form a quasi-libertarian native state backed on the gold standard.

http://www.republicoflakotah.com

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Lakotah

So hate to burst everyone's bubble, but this is NOT a legally recognized entity by the US government nor a sovereign state in the sense that we think of it.

Now for my personal opinion, as a big Ron Paul supporter and opponent of fiat currency, I support the work that Russell Means tried to achieve and I suspect Payu Harris is trying to carry on his legacy in his own way. I do NOT believe Payu to be a scammer because he has a credible solid history behind him of working tirelessly for the community and promoting economic development for years now, particularly in the areas of internet and technology. Also if he was going to cash out the premine to enrich himself, he had much better chances to do it when the hype pump occurred the other day, but the account is still active and unclaimed.

If you do not want to support Maza because it is not the "legally recognized currency" you thought it was, I understand. But if you hate our fiat monetary system and want to support something just to stick it to the man, not only do I believe Maza is a good buy but I think it will rise as a wealth preserving commodity akin to silver and gold. It's not an official currency but it also has a political activist base to make it actually worth something.

Also for what it's worth, Russell Means almost won the president of the "official" Lakota tribe a few years back but lost by just a few thousand votes, so even if the tribal leaders don't support it, I guarantee most Lakotas probably would be sympathetic to what Payu Harris is doing, the people matter more than the leaders do, leaders can be voted out and changed but the grassroots is always there.

All I can say is this has been a weird day; racist remarks, accusations of the currency not being official, going on cryptsy yet no mad rush to buy yet no mass dumping sales either, 5% BTC hash rate and topping coinwarz, its like people don't know which direction to take the coin, either way up or way down.
2263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 07:33:42 PM
one last thing before I call it a night, just saw this on twatter

Oglala Sioux is not Oglala Lakota. Different entities. #mazacoin Get it?

Is this true? It's a shame, all it takes is one balogne article to spread panic.

Put 2+2 together people, if the creator was out to con everyone why didn't he cash out the 50 million premine when it was hitting its highs other day?
2264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 06:40:59 PM
"the coin is dead" bla bla bla.

If you want to get rich quickly, get a lottery ticket. If you think that "the coin is dead" every time the prince decreases, crypto might not be for you.

LOL I have made more money in crypto than you could fathom. I just don't invest in shitcoins, and then try and inflate the value by claiming to others its good. you call people like me trolls, yet you who over estimate the value of a coin to fool others into buying, are the real trolls.

And all that money couldn't buy you a better username or posting history?
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 06:27:06 PM
OMG get it through your heads already. there is no pump, it will not recover, the coin is dead. Move on with your lives.

lulz so says the guy with 1 posting history.
2266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 06:06:26 PM

and almost no one will use it just for the micromarkets in the reservations when you got to turn arrouind and change your coin back into somthing walmart accepts.. which is MORE COMPLEX.

And again, most people are not ready to use Bitcoin either, deal with reality. But Maza could function as a speculative commodity like gold or silver, now you don't go around and carry gold and silver around with you and make purchases on a daily basis with it do you?
2267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 05:54:37 PM

Payu Harris on the keiser report mentioned people could be for example paid for stuff they make, such as art.

And why do people keep over complicating things, just because you/we all have smart phones, remember those
things called paper wallets!   Roll Eyes

A lot of 1st gen crypto bugs are delusional, face it, MOST Americans are still not ready to use Bitcoin either, think how many poor people are still on dial up or slow dsl, use AOL or some other shitty service, have computers loaded with malware and just find the idea of even paying your bills online a big hassle, it's bigger than you think.

I bought into Bitcoin on the belief it won't be ready and mainstream for at least 3-5 years, but people here act like it is just months down the road from worldwide domination.

some people on this forum are better at investigative reporting than the wall street journal

lolololol

Well I always believe in the right to remain skeptical but Indianz.com doesn't exactly rank higher than WSJ on the credibility book either.

Anyone staying on Mintpal or immediately withdrawing your Maza to cryptsy? Mint seems like it has enough volume to compete.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 02:14:50 PM
The margin traders and whales still manipulating hopefully get pinched and will eventually buy in higher Wink. This coin > AUR and we'll see that in the coming weeks.

Bitcoin's $10 billion market cap is just chump change in the world of international finance, Forex turns over $3 trillion DAILY, I can see MZA becoming a multi-billion dollar coin in itself while Bitcoin rises to higher heights.
2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 05:40:29 AM
To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of Maza right now.

If legit, it potentially can be rather big. Or perhaps it's all a scam.

Has there been any documented proof that the coin will be accepted as a currency by any tribe? And by that I mean the tribe themselves saying such, or an article quoting a tribal leader somewhere? Any official news somewhere (and twitter doesn't count)?

Not sure yet if this is a pump and dump coin, or we should just buy it up and hold longterm. I don't have many coins, but just wondering how this will turn out.

You're not sure because you haven't apparently spent even 2 minutes researching. Use google, it has been all over international press. Payu Harris is the face of it and has been travelling around, met with Facebook executives and talked to people about MZC at a Bitcoin conference just in this week. Google most altcoins and you get 2 top results: their website and the bitcointalk thread they announced in. Google MazaCoin and you get news articles from press beyond the crypto world. Go look!

Also a simple google search reveals Payu has been active in tribal economic development for a few years now, particularly in social media awareness. He didn't just come out of nowhere and make a get rich quick coin, he has a credible history behind him.
2272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 07, 2014, 04:41:45 AM
Just FYI I asked Payu on Twitter (or whoever is handling the account) if there has been discussions about other tribes adopting Maza and he said they have been in discussions with the Northern Cheyenne, Winnebago and Crow tribes with full trust privileges. If multiple tribes adopt Maza it will only strengthen and further legitimize the currency!
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 07, 2014, 03:54:19 AM
I think someone is trying to manipulate PMC's price downwards..as I've noticed that after taking down a lot of the buys they then post quite a low sell order.  So at the moment a sell is posted at 47...with the next one being 61.  So anyone who is not watching too carefully will sell low too.

As it's such a small exchange I'm guessing there isn't much we can do about it except hope that their endgame is to buy cheap and sell higher.  Sad

I'm kicking myself for not cashing out at Maza's highs yesterday, could have had a lot of BTC to come in and harpoon the whales.
2274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MAZACOIN HITTING CRYPTSY TOMORROW MORNING!! KEEP VOTING!! THIRD PLACE NOW!!! on: March 07, 2014, 01:28:51 AM
see what is happening to Aurora??

that is going to happen to maza - it may go very high but then it is going WAY DOWN in a monstrous crash.

Unless you are an expert trading wizard - STAY AWAY FROM MAZA!

Buy Bitcoin and Litecoin.

Litecoin has been on a slow agonizing death for months now, but if you want to enrich Charlie and Bobby Lee at your expense, go ahead!
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 06, 2014, 10:31:20 PM
Unfortunately I have had to put the faucet into maintenance mode due to noticing weird withdrawals this morning.
Some dumb twits are hell bent on ruining the free giveaways and using bots to simulate hundreds of transactions to withdraw PMC from the faucet.

I am going to see what we can do if anything to prevent this and until then the faucet will remain offline.

Oh that's a pain but I can't say I'm surprised.  Sad

Look on the bright side at least people are now recognizing the value of this coin, can you imagine faucets for any other alt in the same market position being scammed?
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 06, 2014, 07:06:44 PM
Not to be cynical but will this result in another pump and big drop? Not because I don't have long-term faith in the coin but I gave up making 6 BTC in profit yesterday panic holding and seeing it plummet before I could sell and buy back in, would hate to do it again.
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 06, 2014, 07:04:57 PM
I don't see PMC as a currency in the future. I always look at PMC as a corporation/community shares.

Yep, i'm agree but buy online with PMC is very cool  Cheesy

I still like to think of it as a bank for crypto to store your wealth.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 06, 2014, 05:09:12 PM
that's insane. 25btc +9 to play with LUCKY BASTARD!!!!!!!

I think you meant, "Bastard must work really hard for his money!"

Working hard is carrying a refrigerator up 3 flights of stairs. Making money off crypto is just a mental game!
2279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 06, 2014, 02:36:21 PM
Anyone think there may be some Cryptsy and co. manipulation going on? I saw how fast BigVern jumped to put AUR on when it started going through the roof, why the sudden pause on MZA? Most likely he wants the coin to come on Cryptsy at its cheapest to set off another pump firestorm and maximize trade fees, and no doubt he and friends are buying some really cheap now for themselves before it hits.
2280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 06, 2014, 01:57:18 PM
The price have dropped so much  Shocked And i think it will drop even more... until all the weak holders are gone.  Tongue

there will always be weak holders, some of them are usualy miners looking for the next few bucks for their days work.

Sorry to say it but a lot of Miners are whores, turning tricks on one coin just to make a quick buck, then move on to the next. These fools will only end up with chump change at the end of the year though while the smart people invested big in a long-term coin and will make real liquid not just electricity and beer money.
