If I could sum up what happened in the last 24 hrs is everyone hyped this up like this was an almost completed coin and are now shocked to find it is still in the preliminary stages. Maybe if people would listen to the dev's own words where he admitted days ago this is a BASIC mixer function we wouldn't have people freaking out.

Buy the coin based on the dev, not just on how far along it is.

I just want to give my opinion as someone who holds alot of XC and some DRK; It's not about thin skinned or thick skinned, it's people forgetting why XC even rose in the first place, the utter greed of the Dark cartel. Yes, saying I'm sorry for the instamine can be a valid defense, but it wasn't exactly rectified when these 2 million coins mined for mere pennies were sold on the exchanges for as high as a dollar for months even before basic Darksend was ever implemented. At least XC started off cheap, you could have picked up as much as 50k of them for less than a Bitcoin in its opening days on the exchanges.

Now that XC started rising and the Dark cartel sees its profits slipping, this fud gets spread on twitter that ends up costing alot of people their money panic selling. I wouldn't be shocked if the same whales who exploited this are the same people who own all the Dark too.

It's this high barrier of entry into Dark and the fact the Masternode system seems setup to further enrich all those big early Dark holders that has turned so many people off.

Now I'm not going to say Evan is responsible for the instamine or that he intended for an elite few to take hold of most of the coins, I don't know what is in his heart or mind, but I'm just saying this is all the PERCEPTION that many people have of Dark, and little has been done to fix that image. At the end of the day you can have the best product on the block but if you price yourself out of the market, you lose out, a good example is Apple v.s Microsoft in the 80s. This twitter drama only further enforces the view that Dark has an ivory tower mentality.

Anyway I want to say I am not an enemy of the Dark community, I actually want both coins to succeed because I think competition is healthy and benefits all, but I just think you need to see how the other camp thinks if you want Dark to succeed and win in the end.

I expect trolls to spread fud but not the official Darkcoin twitter, that is just low.

So if XC copied Fedora, and Fedora had mixer before Darksend, how can Darkcoin claim to be the FIRST anonymous cryptocurrency, especially since BCN has been around 2 years as well, who is bullshitting here...

I was able to withdraw my XC from Polo and it arrived on Mintpal in 2 minutes, yet now all of a sudden now it is stuck at Mintpal with 0 confirmations for 15 minutes.

I'm calling shenanigans on the big exchanges more than the coin right now personally...

Not to further bash on Dark but I saw the dev posted this

"My goal with Darkcoin has always been to take the #2 spot from Litecoin. I believe we have the best chance we've ever had now and these changes will actually help realize that goal."

I would hope the goal of a dev is to make the best and most anonymous coin possible and the market will reward those efforts accordingly. When you hear stuff like this added on top of the instamine drama and the accusations of a hidden premine it just makes you think more and more Dark is a get rich scheme.

Of course anyone can throw accusations around easily, but I look at the facts, and the fact is Blackcoin was on its greatest roll towards becoming the next Litecoin and a small group of greedy individuals who held all the coins dumped it from 90k all the way down to 10k. Who these people are is just speculation but it doesn't take much common sense to figure out from the terrible youtube videos and pictures the Blackcoin "foundation" is run by miscreants who look like they used to chop cars and sell weed for a living. And for ANY of these people to move on to XLB and rinse and repeat what they did with BC raises red flags for me instantly.

If anyone can get a XC rich list up it would be interesting to compare the stats against DRK's rich list.

For all those questioning how this could come out of nowhere and work when Dark has been worked on for months, let us not forget TIPS/Fedora has had a basic coin mixer for awhile now and came out with no fan fare or 2,000 thread pats on the back.

I like Dark but come on, the whole thing is nothing but a slick marketing and product launch. It's pretty ingenuous, instamine 2 million coins, keep btctalk dangling for months with every little tiny update, building hype and anticipation, meanwhile selling those coins for as high as 80 cents to a dollar when it was just a normal coin with no anon function, then spring this whole masternodes concept that encourages hoarding of the coins to keep the network alive which gets everyone in a buying spree, neverminding the fact the system is setup to further more enrich all those early miners who have the lion's share of the loot. Now that MRO is getting interest all of a sudden now we are hearing Evan is investigating ring signatures or "something better" but how can it be better when we were told the masternode method is "perfect"?

Also people attack the dev of XC for being semi-secretive when Evan his holding many of his secrets to his chest too.

I will admit first-hand I'm not a coder, but I also know human nature and just because it takes 1 guy months to work on something when he is the only guy on the block doing it doesn't necessarily mean someone couldn't come along and do the same work in weeks. Time is a luxury when you have no competition.

Any word on the second teamview that was supposed to happen tonight? I'm not qualified to watch and comment but would love to hear more 3rd party verification.

Another option, why not keep the coin count as-is, just decrease block rewards, increase difficulty drastically, let POS work on any mined coins and be done with it?

One reason DRK will be worth so much is mining for 1 DRK is like mining for 1 LTC and probably soon even 1 BTC.

I think fast mines is why so many POW coins like Myriadcoin have failed to attain any value, mining should be an EXERCISE to get a coin, not something you just sit back with your rig and watch the coins come pouring in by the thousands, it's not valuable if it takes little work to get one.
