See now I just saw Erdogan of Turkey called Israel more barbaric than the Nazis, this is the same kind of silly rhetoric they deal with all the time. I hardly doubt 200 Palestinians killed is comparable to the tens of millions and destruction of Europe the Nazis brought. It is cheap and trivializes things, maybe we should talk about all the thousands of Kurds killed by Turkey for wanting their independence or the Armenian genocide.
1482  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is anyone following the Israel & Palestine Situation. on: July 20, 2014, 07:01:22 AM
Israel is hated because they are the top dog now.

But there was a time in 1948 when the Israeli army was nothing but a few Haganah militias and a hastily put together army of men, many of whom with no military experience and fresh off the boats still recovering from the holocaust facing off against the whole Arab world supplied by British and Syrian tanks, rifles and airplanes ready to drive them into the sea dead or alive. At this time it was Israel who was the underdog and miraculously won when all hope was lost, why do you think Arabs call it the "Nabka" or disaster? It was inconceivable that they could have lost.

Can Israel be heavy handed and flagrant to the opinions of the UN? Sure. But let's not forget they are dealing with neighbors who historically allied with Hitler and the Axis powers and wanted to kill them years before Israel even became a country. How nice would you be to someone who tried to wipe you out as a race?

Also I have to ask, if Palestinians cared about occupation by foreigners why did they allow the Turks to occupy and run Palestine for centuries with little resistance? I get the feeling if it was a million Muslims who fled Europe seeking a home after the holocaust they might have been more welcoming to them...

We need a coin for Kurdistan, Israel haters never talk about the occupation or ethnic cleansing of their land by their neighbors in the mideast.

It's trivially easy to stockpile 12,500 uro without moving the price up at all.  Just place small bids, and the continual stream of sellers will fill them.

Buying up the the book would be bad business when people will just sell it to you cheaper.

The only reason we don't see the order book being bought up is as you say, why disturb the water by jumping in with a splash when you can gracefully swim through it?

If we do see a massive buy up of the order book it will be in a situation like the rumors of Rivaa needing to fulfill a 1 million ton order being true, then they won't have a few weeks to quietly buy supply up but need to fulfill the order as fast as possible by buying as many coins as they can in a short time. This is why playing waves could pinch you, when "the time" comes the buys will be quick so the market doesn't have time to react by cancelling their sell orders and moving them up.

So when is mining supposed to end for POW?

I heard people saying today yet CMC shows only roughly 1 million coins mined so far and people are saying difficulty is as high as Bitcoin last year, so how will we reach 1.6 million anytime soon?

Even I got a post deleted and i'm the biggest URO "Shill" here. Just keep the discussion meaningful and less troll-like and you should be fine.

The pattern of BTCD reminds me exactly of what XC did, comes out of nowhere, gains some interest, dev is discovered to be highly respected and competent, and it maintains its price even through the constant mining and dumping, and then POS hits and BOOM shoots up to a $15-20 million market cap in just days. Granted it all came tumbling down but this was mostly due to the fud from the Dark camp. People bought XC not on what features it had at the time but just based off what they knew it COULD be with Dan Metcalfe on board. This could do the same thing, especially now with the JLH777hodl asset thrown into the mix too.

Just to play devils advocate.

If you file your annual return late you get a notice of proposal to be deregistered, even if its only a week late. It's happened to me before.

Not saying this is or is not the case, just pointing it out. I have no idea why this notice was issued.

Like I said I don't pretend to be an expert at business law, but I think it is pretty obvious if a company was dancing around insolvency since 2011, they would have more than 0 credit defaults, wouldn't be able to afford offices for Bohan to be in with employees in the background (You can even see Nilesh walking by at the 16:00 mark in the window in the infamous google+ video), along with being able to afford all that mining hardware to make the scam possible and even recently hire http://webmatric.com.au as their new web developer in July (look it up, GES is a new client). Insolvent means literally no money left, they wouldn't even have the resources left to concoct such a grand scheme to "save" their company.

yea big problems seems the dev there is mia

Dev said his father had a heart attack and he's been gone a whopping 24 hours, god people in crypto are paranoid or selfish. How on earth did early traders handle Satoshi disappearing for months?

To pump and dump of course!

I may not be as informed as the rest of you when it comes to URO but last time I thought when people pointed out anything fishy about the Australian GES, we were told that they have nothing to do with it. I thought we were told that the Hong Kong GES was the one who was doing the Urea contracts. So why would the Australian GES be ok to be used as proof?

I think what true asset was implying was GES Australia is not connected to the URO project at all, I don't think he was saying they are not the same company. This is why when someone called the Australian branch they told him to get in touch with the HK one because they aren't involved with it.

I addressed the report about GES Australia specifically because that is the report fudders are using to attack the project. Someone posted the GES HK business license info days ago which proves an entity over there as well.

I went ahead and bought the OFFICIAL reports from the ASIC website as well, the government ones not some hokey 3rd party one

As of today's date the company is still registered

So am I reading correctly that your saying ASIC is a joke company but ges is working with a crypto currency made up by a kid and are trading urea for  this brand new currency that may or may not be worth the price of the product they are selling in the future in order to turn a profit? I would be embarrassed to repeat this to relatives.

This is not an ASIC/official government report, it is a 3rd party private company report, a crappy one.

It confirms what I just said to mikegeiser on IRC that if someone bought the doc it wouldn't be in his name because he's already bankrupt through impact security (hence his wifes? name).

Then you can go buy the impact security report and post it here.

But the fact is an insolvent company would have a boat load of credit defaults which this report says it doesn't.

Also the fact I paid 60 dollars for this crap that gives me such sparse information is proof the whole company and website is a joke to begin with.

Got tired of the talk about credit and insolvency so I bought the report myself, here you go all

This sounds like an interesting coin, a NXT coder, add a little bit of cryptonote technology, sprinkle some decentralized exchange fairy dust, mix in a betting sports book and a low coin count, could be great if devs remain committed.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 16, 2014, 07:35:11 PM

*Potentially* they could convince the market to accept this value before ever needing to transmit FIAT to whomever they are buying their UREA from or they *might* have a sufficient credit-line with a supplier that would allow them a grace period of several months, by which time we'd all know without doubt if they were doing as they say and actually trading by way of URO.

Let me throw a monkey wrench if I may. If Rivaa is going for that 1 million ton contract from India Potash, they are going to do all they can to buy up every last URO on the exchange and will buy up the order book to at least $200 if they have to, because buying a coin even for $200-$250 and getting roughly $300 USD back is still very profitable.

I think the plan is to get as much of the remaining 200-250k coins as possible and then they will pay for the rest of the Urea in fiat to fulfill that 1 million order. This is how they will undercut every other bidder on the market and make tons of profit. So if you are holding URO now you might not have to wait very long to make out profitably...

China + less competition

Still I just find it hard to believe a bunch of crypto nerds gambling away parts of their paychecks could pump a coin in just days from 4 dollars to 40 like LTC did but its inconceivable multi-million dollar companies can't support a profitable currency. Hell look at how long Doge held high with all that inflation and most of its supporters were young people who make very little money.
1499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 16, 2014, 07:08:24 PM
There is no chance whatsoever that the crypto markets can sustain this coin at a price of $300 per coin.

The money simply does not exist in these markets.  It just doesn't.

It will have to come from outside the market.

Erm, coimarketcap.com suggests otherwise. There are meant to be 1million URO mined in the first six months and 100,000 per year after that and, given that there are currently <>360,000 URO coins in circulation you are talking about a potential USD108million which, given the commercial nature of the proposed trades, isn't actually that much and certainly well within the crypto market liquidity capabilities.

At $300 a coin, you need $1.7 million new dollars entering every day, just to buy up the mined coins. That money has to then *hold* the coins, not trade them, or the price will start to drop.

So every day, $1.7 million has to enter the Uro market and stay there.

That level of cash just isn't in the crypto markets.  It's not.

So where did all the cash come in to pump Litecoin up to hundreds of millions of dollar market cap and keep it hovering around 40 dollars for a few months before the big BTC crash? Not being argumentive just genuinely curious.

Well at 300k +/- coins if you do the math the market cap only needs to reach what Dark and a little above Doge hit near their height to sustain $300 a coin. Market caps are an illusion anyway, like to be a $80 million market cap, $80 million dollars doesn't need to literally flow into it the coin just needs to be valued at that.

The most likely outcome is if it DOES take off and go to $300 a coin it will be day-to-day buying of companies trying to fulfill that 12,500 order so liquidity shouldn't be a problem for early holders.
