We're arguing with a guy who wanted people to buy Bill Fucking Murray Coin, I mean come on, he is a clown.
1782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | - HARD FORK MANDATORY UPDATE - | POW phase started on: June 13, 2014, 09:09:01 PM

Why launch the coin before this "big feature" is even finished? What was the rush? Why not complete the wallet and then launch it. The answer is obvious: The dev is hoping to have an opportunity to dump everything without having to do any actual work. I expect no changes in the new version - if there even is a new version, it will only be because the dev still hasn't had a chance to unload their premine. Smart money is that this coin will be officially dead within 14 days of trading on MintPal and anybody left holding will be pissed.

And the coin could be equally dead when a whale comes along and dumps his 2% because anyone with a few BTC could have bought that much and more this cheap weeks ago. The premine argument for the most part is dead in crypto land, coins are liable to die from all sorts of reasons and scammy devs are just a small part of it. But a coin with good fundamentals will survive and so far the work that this TEAM of devs (it's not just one guy!) has done in the last few weeks is amazing compared to most other coins.

Also even if they were planning to keep the premine for themselves just for profit, frankly I don't give a damn. I don't understand this world view in crypto that devs are supposed to be paupers who work for free doing all the labor while the whales and multipools are the only ones running off with profit.
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neutrinocoin | The Secret Coin on: June 13, 2014, 08:49:46 PM
Gee I should just create a coin like this one, mine the shit out of it, then pull this crap.  Would you trust me to hold all of the coin?  I could care a less about a linkedin profile or a dev blog or pictures and names of the devs.  It can easily be faked.  In a matter of time these 3 guys for Neutrino will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Well the creator was profiled in a WSJ article last year for creating Bitcoin ATMs so he is definitely real.

Just playing devil's advocate though, is there fundamentally any difference between a corporation that goes public and offers its "pre-mined" shares of its company to investors v.s what these guys are doing offering up their premined coins at a set price? This goes against everything Satoshi stood for obviously but if you approach it from a strictly love-of-money corporate/business environment, there is actually nothing unethical about it compared to the stock market.

Obviously buying Microsoft stock made Bill Gates and its employees rich but it also made alot of other people rich who bought at the beginning too. Personally i've lost MORE money trying to be principled and not dumping my coins or buying into a coin for the honesty or technical fundamentals and I lose money everytime.
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neutrinocoin | The Secret Coin on: June 13, 2014, 08:08:17 PM
I can't believe people are buying this crap.  Your all making these devs free money.  This thread is going to be huge in a few days after everyone realizes they were scammed.  If something's to good to be true... it is.

This may sound crazy though as much as it is a scam I trust more the devs not to dump and tank their own coin than I do all the fly-by-night whales on every other coin anymore. Most likely their plan if it works out is to just let the value rise and slowly sell off as needed and not spook the market, in this it might not be such a bad investment after all if you're willing to accept you're going to make 3 creators rich rather than a few dozen whales.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is there anything in crypto that makes logical sense really? on: June 13, 2014, 02:24:20 PM
If there is two things i've learned in trying to trade for the last 6 months it is this:

If a coin has bad news, expect a dump

If a coin has good news...expect a bigger dump!

I honestly think there is no rhyme or reason to anything.
1786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neutrinocoin | The Secret Coin on: June 13, 2014, 01:35:56 PM
The fact there are 21 million neutrinos for sale at 1 btc each on bittrex, more than there even is Bitcoin available is a dead giveaway it is a scam. I can't believe those 3 guys behind it would put their public reputations on the line like that considering they have impressive linkedin resumes.
EH?? I bought 1500 at 4000 sato's earlier today sold em for a quick profit before it dropped more. Now at 3000 sato's much less then 1 BTC. AND there are 210 MILLION neutrinos, 21 million is bitcoins number. So your wrong on lots of things.  This coin seems interesting to me.  From what I can find in a web search seems to have been in the works since Feb of this year.  Whats weird is you can only seem to mine it on multipool from info on their website.  https://www.multipool.us/stats.php?curr=ntr

Came from out of nowhere but I say it passes the first smell test but needs more pools at least so I can mine some!

There are 13 million mined Bitcoins, these scam artists who mined 99% of their own coin are asking 1 BTC EACH for 21 million coins. There is not enough Bitcoin in the world to even buy them at this price! And this is just 10% of their whole stash! How can you NOT see this is a con?

Kinda dissapointing price? Is it because of BTC small fall ?

Well the announcement of the anon whitepaper came late at night for America so that might be a factor, give it a good 24 hrs for the news to sink in.

1789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FBI coins on the move! on: June 12, 2014, 09:58:15 PM

why would they even dump cheap coins anyways? the higher they sell, the more money they get for their operations.

btw, they will be sold in 3,000 coin blocks.. 9ish total. who can really afford 3,000 coins? i'd guess wall street has that kind of capital. at $600/btc, that's 1.8 million per block.

I'm sure it's a healthy mix of people who are uneducated thinking this is a bad thing dropping the price and the baby whales using the FUD as an excuse to snap them up cheap now. But I promise once they hit the auction block, they will probably be sold for as much as 2x, maybe even 3x or more market price, auctions usually always involve people overpaying because bidders get into a frenzy and don't want to lose out, also it's not often someone gets an opportunity to buy thousands of coins at once so you will see some major venture capitalists or wallstreet types jumping in. This will also give Bitcoin legitimacy when you see some very important people bidding on these coins for the media to see. I think this will be the beginning of the 2nd great Bitcoin rally we've all been waiting for.

Before everyone freaks out (because we know whales will use any news as an excuse to dump and accumulate)

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/06/12/silk-road-bitcoin-on-the-move-as-government-prepares-to-auction-off-18-million-worth/

It’s an E-bay style auction for digital coin, taking place over a 12-hour period in two weeks, on June 27 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Eastern. “Bids will be accepted by email from registered bidders using a form available from the U.S. Marshals Web page,” says the release. “In order to make a bid in this auction, potential bidders must register between the period of June 16 at 9 a.m. through June 23 at noon EDT and make a refundable deposit of $200,000 via wire transfer from a bank account in the United States.”

The new addresses for the Bitcoin are here (29,658 Bitcoin from the Silk Road) and here (144,341 Bitcoin from Ross Ulbricht). Ulbricht, who has plead not guilty, claimed his Bitcoin aren’t subject to civil forfeiture rules.

First of all, just to bid you need to put down a $200k deposit. So for anyone worried the FBI is going to dump cheap Bitcoins on us peasant masses and crash the price, keep dreaming. Second this article confirms they are being moved for consolidation as they will be sold off in blocks of 3,000 BTC at a time.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Testnet Anon Wallet|POS Superblock| Mandatory Upgrade! on: June 12, 2014, 04:43:01 PM
Sorry, no way I am buying on a pump when its up 150%. I've been burned before, you lot sound just like the ENC trolls who were convinced it was going to mars. Look what happened to it...

The thing about ENC is it was a generic coin that did nothing. SUPER delivers the anon goods and came out with it with no hype. Imagine if you said you weren't going to buy XC or DRK when they went up 150% in the first day of their week long epic rise because it was "buying on a pump"

Price hit 3k satoshi now.

we will hit 10K satoshi this weekend.

Might be sooner with the panic buys I am seeing now.

Logo is too simple, not good-looking, wallet needs a better art, make them look cool.

The artwork is great, flat color, minimalistic and modern, think Apple, Fossil or Ikea.

There are too many crypto coins with bad photoshop effects, stupid gunmetal textures, embossing, stock gradients, you name it.

Can the dev really deliver on anonymous technology?

If he is such a superstar coder why doesn't he mention that in his resume/skill set?

yes kind of true, it's the winklevosses who put that figure out there, it installs the hope in BTC holders brains so if the price did go up to $5000 there would still be a lot of holders, quite clever psychological play really.

The problem with Bitcoin is it still has a severe lack of liquidity and too few bagholders. Only 900 people control 50% of the supply, 47 of those control 28%, as interested as Wallstreet and ebay/Amazon claim to be, it's not in their bottom line to make 900 people multi-quadrillionaires who could come around and buy out their whole company just so they can make a few extra million a year. Are we really to believe Satoshi is destined to become the world's first trillionaire with his million bitcoins? It's not sustainable.
1797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: June 10, 2014, 02:35:47 PM

I've bought and sold up to this point, anyone who holds onto a bag of cryptos other than BTC for the "long run" speculatively is just gambling in a rigged casino.

Funny how anyone who dreams of an alt coin going to 5-10 dollars is "living in the clouds" yet the big holders of Bitcoin keep telling themselves it's going to a million dollars a coin! Who is more delusional?
1798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LOL] LeagueCoin | X11 | PoW + PoS | TipBot for League of Legends released on: June 10, 2014, 05:03:23 AM
LOL made $650 million last year, in an ideal world the market cap would be worth at least a quarter of that!

HAHAHAHAHA

Good idea saying that this project is going to absorb 25% of the profits of the company this coin steals its name from.

I'm sure that'll just make their attorneys swoon.

First off you don't understand math or how stocks or crypto works because a market cap of a "security" doesn't actually need that exact amount to actually flow into the coin to make it worth that, the free market just needs to feel it is worth that. You think $60 million actual dollars flowed into Doge to get it to where it was at its peak for instance? Hell no.

Second, no income is going to be "stolen" because this is supplemental to the game, LoL makes their money off microtransactions of extra game content, this is a tipping bot which is a completely separate revenue opportunity that doesn't effect LoL's bottom line unless they decide to build their own tipping bot.
