1061  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you define Bitcoin early/mid/late adopters? on: April 17, 2014, 12:03:57 AM
People tend to think they're not part of the early adopters just because they missed the time where a btc wasn't worth a dollar.

1064  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you sleepwalk/sleeptalk? on: April 17, 2014, 12:01:12 AM
How am I supposed to know this, I'm asleep when it's happening? Can't trust anyone else either!
1065  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: April 16, 2014, 11:58:14 PM
Sad I want winter back now! >_<

Winter is coming...

Seriously though, why the preference for winter? Tongue
Dripping noses, freezing fingers, impossible to move oneself by foot and by car, delayed trains, people sneezing and coughing in public.
What's not to love about winter?

Oh yes, how could I forget Tongue

Winter is probably my least favourite season. Spring and Summer is where it's at Cheesy
Warmth > Cold
Think that goes for most human beings! Unless you like winter sports, I guess.
1066  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Dying, And why it is different this time. on: April 16, 2014, 11:54:06 PM
Bitcoin seems far from dying at this point in time too. Smiley
On the contrary, it's breathing, rising, and recovering.

What do you HATE most?
Excess negativity:
You could have asked what we LIKE/LOVE the most.   Cheesy
The edge between love and hate is very fine!
However, why don't you make your own thread asking that? Smiley

This signature campaign allows Jr. Members: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=552837.0

There is a discussion if they are legit, and payment in 45, more than enough to get member status
Not to mention that the thought that Jr. Members with the smallest signature
around would be paid 0.0006 per post is faaar too good to be true.

Indeed it's very suspicious, but it's better to take the "risk" than have no paid signature at all.
Also, since he's a new member, it would make sense to give a high reward or else nobody would try at all. Most people thought RitzGrandCasino was a scam at first because he was new and the reward was high but he paid everyone.
Hm, well, aren't there any other signature campaigns currently accepting Jr members? If not, I guess that's worth a shot, I mean there's nothing to lose if that's the only one available.
1070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first nickel in Bitcoin on: April 16, 2014, 11:49:46 PM
can somebody explain how the Activity versus number of posts works on this forum?
From what I've understood, in every 2 week-period you post in you'll get 14 activity.
Which means higher post count =/= higher activity.
As long as you post once per 2 week period, you get 14 activity.
1071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's tell Amazon that we want them to accept bitcoin! on: April 16, 2014, 11:48:40 PM
I'm a prime member and shop almost exclusively on Amazon so I sent an email as soon as I heard the news. Glad others are voicing their opinions as well. Who should we set our sites on next?
What other large order websites are there? I guess eBay would be one website to aim for, but however that would require the SELLERS ( all individuals ) to accept bitcoins. However the option should be available for everyone.
1072  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Game of Trust: send me 0.1 btc and receive 0.15 btc back on: April 16, 2014, 11:46:54 PM
Wait ... I am the one who gives away BTC to strangers  Grin
Oh really? Can I have some? =)
1073  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Honey Caramels on: April 16, 2014, 11:45:58 PM
Somebody placed an order, that was sent and returned back to us with a note from the post office saying it was undeliverable.  We sent emails to the person, but I am not sure the email is real.

Anyway, if that happens to be you, contact us.

What is the mail domain if I may ask?

I had made a brainwallet which i tought noone could have guessed and never put my private-key somewhere.

This was a very bad idea.  People don't need to "guess" a brainwallet.  Instead, they write computer programs that model human behavior and then generate all possible brainwallets that match a set of likely behaviors.  Depending on where and how you created the brainwallet, it is also possible that the brainwallet creating program stored a history of the brainwallets that it created so that the author of the program could steal the bitcoins at a future date.

Please is there anything I can do

Unfortunately recovery of the bitcoins is extremely unlikely.  There is a small chance that the thief is careless and reveals something about themselves that allows them to be identified. With subpoena power, there is a very small chance that the thief might try to use the bitcoins at a service that would supply you (or law enforcement) with the identity of the thief from their records.  Please don't take this to mean that there is any hope of recovery.  I offer this information only in the interest of being complete in my answer.  I don't want to instill you with false hope.

As a note to anybody else that comes across this thread:

Bitcoin is still experimental and is still a technology considered to be in beta test.  As such, it is very important that people don't hold more bitcoins than they can emotionally handle losing.  If a person would feel devastated to lose all their bitcoins (or if the exchange rate on their bitcoins were to drop to $0) then they have too much bitcoins.

Hello, I'm brand new to this forum and to Bitcoin, and I wanted to thank you for this information. I wanted to ask you and everyone else what are some good tips to staying safe and to keep this from happening to me?

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App
It is indeed a good time to buy as previous poster stated. But remember it's an investment, so don't invest anything you can't afford to lose.
There are loads of threads with tips on security and being safe, mainly in the beginners and help section.

Best of luck.
1075  Economy / Services / Re: Auction for 3 ad spots on freebitcoinwin.com for 1 week on: April 16, 2014, 11:43:42 PM
Your charging 0.3 BTC for 5k visitors? Thats a lot IMO.
Well the problem is rather that the visitors will disappear when they notice the site is never paying.

They might be legitimate, however the OP of that thread does not give a good impression at all imo. Problem is payment is so far in the future it's not worth the risk, at all.

HAhahahahahah how long did it take to get that vanity address Cheesy

A few seconds, it really didn't even take that long with my 256-qubit quantum computer!

Is there a minimum or maximum number of posts per month which you need to make?
It all depends on the signature campaign, they all have their specific rules. Most campaigns require you to post 50 times per month otherwise they won't pay you, and most have a cap at around 2500~ posts per month ( which is impossible to reach without spamming anyways ). Check the Service section of the forum for the different campaigns. Smiley
