Why are you so excited - wasn't btc over 700 just a couple of months ago?

dont you think that all our emotions are based on the ego's comparison of one of thing
to another?
Why would you change the topic again!?

Why do you think?
I think you're doing it because you found the previous topic more interesting. However don't you think that sort of discussion would be better suited in some other section of the forum? :>
1242  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hit the road Jack. on: April 15, 2014, 11:04:54 PM
Agreed as lover of music I just want to see it improved upon not stay the same..
I want to hear a new interpretation of what good music is and compare it to older songs.  I think we are very much on the same page with our expectations of the evolution of music apsvinet. Wink
Being somewhat a musician myself I got the love for the old music as well, and the hate for the modern computer produced shit that's spewed out in mainstream radio and so on, but I still have a lot of respect for the fact that music evolves and that people need it to. How would earth look if we were stuck with all the horrible music the 80's had to offer?
As we evolve, so does all forms of art. We won't get stuck and run out of new music within the lifetime of humans. As long as new people are being born new ideas will come to life, and that's why there's such a huge difference in music genres and what's popular between the decades.  Smiley
1243  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: April 15, 2014, 11:01:34 PM
Bought 200BTC at $18 more then a year ago, sold it for $80 thinking I made HUGE profit, classic screwup but who would know it would go to $1100
Just like for everyone else thats the tricky part. You can't predict what's gonna happen. In my opinion you still made a good deal, although not optimal at all.

If i kept every bitcoin that I had , when I had the most, I would have >1mUSD at todays prices. Sucks but yeah, I made a concious decision to hedge my risks back then.
Hah, yeah. It's a bit worse for the people who just lost them due to not caring as they weren't valuable at all, now realizing they'd be millionaires.

Well, then thing is, they never invested real money. So it is no that sad actually. Like the guy that had 10000 BTC on a harddrive that he mined 5 years ago on a laptop and then the harddrive ended up on the wasteplant. Not much investment right there, but sure it sucks to lose out on so much money Wink
Ah yeah. I've also had the policy to not invest any of my own money into bitcoins. I can't afford unsafe investments, even tho I'm fully aware I might regret it in 5 years.

This hugely depends on your personal finances. If you have disposable income, why not throw 5% of that into a high risk/high reward investment. The upside is huge and the downside is limited to -100%. If you are also young , then this sounds like a snapcall to me. (It was for me). But be sure to not be emotional about it, and make decisions on fundametials , not panic and price.!!!
That's the problem, I don't really have a disposable income that I can invest in anything. If I had, however, I would definitely consider investing small sums in bitcoins.

In your case, I still think it would be advantageous to put small amounts of money that you receive as birthday presents, xmas presents, etc...into BTC.  It will grow long term, and may also keep you from spending it...
Well, in the end, it's just a risk-reward calculation everyone has to do on his own. I couldn't handle losing a single dollar, not because I needed it or that I couldn't afford to lose it, but it's a principal thing. Therefore ( for now ) I'm not putting real cash into something that
-can- theoretically drop to zero value in days. Even though the probability is low, very low, it still exists.

I found myself making that mistake recently but corrected it.  then it it got me thinking how many times I did that without noticing.
And every time you did a grammar nazi somewhere in the world almost ripped his eyes out in sheer frustration.

1246  Other / Off-topic / Re: We want (I want) PEACE !!! on: April 15, 2014, 10:56:56 PM
it has nothing to do with money

sometimes war is necessary, mostly freedom can't be claimed by peace but only with arms  Undecided

Every war is about money / resources Smiley

Why would anyone attack other country if they will not gain $$ from it? Smiley

There's nothing to misunderstand about that statement.

You know - maybe you should think about it deeper.

My bad, I should add "ALMOST EVERY".

And if you do that, - I have nothing to object! Thank you.
1247  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hit the road Jack. on: April 15, 2014, 10:56:26 PM
can you honestly imagine how boring music would be if it was the same as it was back then.  I like how music is created from songs of the past I think that shows progression in some ways.  That being said I truly love all kinds of music.
For that exact reason music is evolving. Nobody actually wants all the music from older times back, we as humans just tend to glorify old things by only remembering the good things of the time. Music can't sound the same from year to year, it's constantly evolving, with new technology, sources of inspiration, etc etc.

1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Damn you Amazon, you'll come round soon enough on: April 15, 2014, 10:08:57 PM
So why don't you all stop posting your laments here...and do what I just did..log into your account at Amazon...go to "contact us" and tell them what you think?

I really am not saying that in a snarky way...I'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to let them know directly what you as a customer think.

For what it's worth...I got a response within about ten minutes. I fully admit that it is almost certainly a "form response" about Bitcoin and nearly everyone will get the same one.(Although the grammar of the first two lines doesn't seem as polished as the rest and may not be "form").

The point is...someone at least paid attention to it...read enough of it to recognize what I was writing about...responded...and no doubt put a check mark somewhere in the tally of topics that concern customers.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the Bitcoins.

I would like to let you know that we currently don't accept bitcoins as your payment method for your order, I believe that this is a disappointing news.

However it's a good thing that you've brought this up to our attention and we'll consider your feedback as we plan further improvements.

Strong customer feedback like yours is very important in helping us continue to improve our website and services. I will pass your message on to the appropriate department in our company. We always want to know how our customers react to all aspects of shopping on our website.

One of our aims at Amazon.com is to provide a convenient and efficient service.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best regards,
Lara T.

"A disappointing news?"

1250  Other / Off-topic / Re: loose != lose on: April 15, 2014, 09:54:51 PM
it's a typo Cheesy
I guess there's a difference between a typo and simply not knowing the difference between the two.
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Damn you Amazon (+Walmart), you'll come round soon enough on: April 15, 2014, 09:50:11 PM
Come up with a way to integrate BTC into their established payment systems with minimal hardware replacement costs, and boom!  You can get them to do it.
Apologies on beforehand if I seem stupid for saying this, but wouldn't them getting a bitcoin address be enough?
1252  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hit the road Jack. on: April 15, 2014, 09:47:48 PM
64 000 000  views :OOO

that's more popular than Beyonce Cheesy
Not surprising, one of the most iconic and classic "modern" songs there is.

Don't talk down on people you don't know when your English is more broken than the advices you are giving dude Wink

I am so sorry for my broken English.

And maybe you didn't understand what I am saying, but I was trying to help this man.

he is looking for a job, but he is telling us that his "ONLY SKILL" is welding.

Come on...

I just want this man understand why he wont find a good job in this way.

If I was too harsh I am very sorry and I apologize.

Regards.
His welding skill isn't that relevant either, anyone can work at a supermarket and make 500 usd and buy a bitcoin.
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: For $1 million dollars would you? on: April 15, 2014, 09:44:21 PM
I'd kill my wife for $1mil, so to answer your question... yes

You seem to be too much upset with your wife.
Maybe he just likes money?
1255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay safe. on: April 15, 2014, 09:43:02 PM
It's a matter of against theymos's advice to be stickied and a trust thing against me I am guessing.

Edit:
I also try to bump it here n there.
That's good. And I suppose you're right, might be odd if he stickied it.

Perhaps we should change topic indeed, is it immoral to eat dog meat?
1259  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The US government has ordered MT Gox CEO to go to US on: April 15, 2014, 09:36:28 PM
Ugh, by exchanging it to another currency, just like he would spend it in either Japan or North Korea?

Clearly you don't know anything about small islands.
I was not talking about uninhabited islands. However, mr know-it-all, why don't you care to elaborate on your massive knowledge about spending a currency on small islands? Dick.
1260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So what happened in China today? on: April 15, 2014, 09:34:23 PM
there is no ban, the ban is just a rumour

only banks are not allowed to trade in bitcoin..

unfortunately but yes that's it..
This wasn't unexpected though, from a country like China. But yeah, the ban was rumors made up by ordinary people. Glad we got it out of the way. Smiley
