1741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If miners sell coins, where do they sell them? on: May 27, 2016, 06:35:29 PM
...

I read somewhere a while back -- perhaps this thread -- that some Chinese miners already have wholesale buyers for BTC they successfully mine.  Which gives the miners some CA$H to pay bills and the buyers the opportunity to lock in BTC.

That seems to make great sense.  Win/win.  I just wish I were a big enough BTC buyer to get in on that.  However, like retail buyers of gold, "we too can walk in the footsteps of Giants."  Meaning we too can get in on what looks like great investments for the future, all you have to do is:

1) pull the trigger

and

2) HODL with patience

Gold and BTC!

What happened in 2015.75? We're still around.

"We're still around"

Are you refering to socialists with complete confidence in government?

your time is coming soon, and when the majority of you realise, that's when the fun begins.

For many readers in here our confidence has already collapsed.

Yep.

NONE of our financial problems have been solved.

NO ONE (of significance) among the banksters has gone to jail.

The corruption from the very top all the way down almost guarantees some kind of ugly collapse with the debts we have.

Prepare.
1743  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: May 26, 2016, 05:18:43 PM
...

I saw on CNN today that Italy may have captured 40 ISIS terrorists on a boat in the Med, but I did not catch all of the story.

This whole migrant (RAPEFUGEE) issue is one that Europe really ought to deal with now.  Kick out the bad ones now.  Prevent new ones from coming in.  Hungary built a wall, it seems to be working well.  Note carefully if Trump builds a wall...

"Sorry, refugees, you should stay home in your OWN country and fight for your rights THERE."

Bitcoin and Europe?
No way. Europe looks the same way towards bitcoin as the US. They want to keep it out of the economic system. That's why they stopped printing the 500 EUR bill.
Criminals were 'using' it. The same applies for bitcoin...

Yes, Nameless Coin, I think the whole fights by .govs vs. the 500 euro note and Bitcoin are totally bogus, I would love to save US$500 if they ever got around to printing them.

CA$H is important for freedom.

mindrust

Yep, totally agree, now way any .gov will give up the power to print money as they see fit.

The corrupt are everywhere, very true, good point.  In America, and America is heading more in the direction of PERU (now here on a visit) more than Peru is heading towards America...

America has a worsening problem with corruption at all levels.
1744  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: May 26, 2016, 04:59:01 PM
Martin is saying the euro is toast and europe will be toast if a brexit occurs.
As a eu resident and if the euro tanks, i would rather have gold then euro's...

Take a look at long term gold in euro's, it has held much better then in $. As a matter of fact look in ANY other currency then the $, gold has held up very good are rcently made new highs in that currency.

I keep my physical gold, but will go long $ also.

I don't have confidence in the euro.

Thank you for the interesting update, XXL66.

I really do not have any special insight into the euro, but I am inclined to believe what you write (and what Armstrong writes).  The euro experiment seemed good, but perhaps was not designed well, or perhaps the wealth disparities among the European countries may doom it.

If trouble comes to the world, I would agree, Europe will probably have more problems -- certainly at first -- that the USA.  The RAPEFUGEE issue does NOT look like it ie being addressed well by Europe.

And, as you write, a Brexit would hurt Europe.

Holding at least some physical gold seems wise for everyone.

Thanks again for all the comments, So, I went looking for a new marketplace themes and looking into the SSL cert. posted a word press upgrade job on fiverr.com

Yeah, best of luck on building your website, especially if we can buy BTC with a debit card.  A simple buying service like that is always much appreciated.  If you will buy BTC back, some people would like that too.

I agree with above posters about an SSL certificate or similar.  Money attracts thieves.

I now feel a little better that Circle was easier for me to set up my account, and that Coinbase never helped me do so.  My limit is currently $300 / week to purchase BTC.  I might be able to get then to raise it if I want.

Good luck, whatever the circumstances.  I would think there is a chance you may get your money back or BTC.
1747  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: May 25, 2016, 09:53:38 PM
invested in both, waiting for a gold dump to ~1150 to buy more

BOTH have been relatively "boring" lately, with gold probably down a bit more percentage.

Obviously gold, cannot afford to trust bitcoin in long run.

I constantly switch between thinking Bitcoin is the speculation of a lifetime (which it may be), and the thought that the BTC Overlords (or .gov) may screw it up.  If the latter, gold beckons...

BOTH seems to be the best bet: half security, half a great Lotto ticket.
1748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Mixer Reviews on: May 24, 2016, 01:57:11 AM
...

I have used bitmixer.io with complete success (clearnet version only).  I liked the service that I joined their Sig Campaign.  I have not read any reviews that were negative and plausible (user error, etc.).  In fact, I read a case or two where bitmixer.io refunded BTC...

I have also used blochain.info's SharedCoin, buyt last I checked it was not working.  I did have a couple of problems with them awhile back, but all was resolved OK in the end.

The degree to which coins are mixed *seems* (to me) to be better at bitmixer.

Bitmixer also has a TOR site, but I don't do TOR, don't even know how to...
1749  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: what site you created your first wallet? on: May 24, 2016, 01:52:08 AM
...

Yah, me too re first wallet at blockchain.info.  It was easy to do.  I had no hardware and no real understanding of Bitcoin.  No one I knew personally was into it at all.

Yet, I have not wanted to try the NEW blockchain wallets because I have read about issues...  As long blockchain.info supports the old ones, I'll keep some low amounts there.
1750  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do you know any 2-way debit card providers? Alternative to E-coin. on: May 23, 2016, 03:46:47 AM

Count me as another interested in two way BTC-debit card providers.  Especially for those of us from the USA.

These problems will be solved by someone.  And if anonymity is thrown in, oh boy, that company will make a fortune.
1751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm giving a talk on bitcoin at my company, helpful resources? on: May 23, 2016, 03:40:17 AM

One suggestion: consider making slides from a series of transactions that you have done yourself: getting a wallet, buying BTC, spending BTC.

Another: showing some screen shots from blockchain.info and/or other easy to understand [sic] sites.

Also, some general website links (bitcoin.com, I think they have a beginner's video) that internet users in your audience can access easily.

You can tell them that once they have a marginal understanding to come here to bitcointalk as well.

Finally, wait for more suggestions here to roll in!   Smiley
1752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can i cancel a deposit from blockchain in case of posibly fraud? on: May 23, 2016, 03:19:42 AM
Hello, every one, i wnt know if know how cancel a deposit in blockchain.

is that possible?

Greetings

I think that you would have to pass along more details of the transaction in question for anyone (even the experts here at bitcointalk, I am not an expert).  My *guess* is no.

Quizas Ud. puede preguntar con detalles y palabras EXACTAS en la parte del foro en español.  Pero, supongo que NO.

Good luck.
Suerte.

Thanks for the spanish my friend greetings from Mexico City, i know that my english is not perfect but i can read it and write it, at least for make that the other understand a little bit what i can say..    lol

Visiting Peru (on business and pleasure), enjoying my very decent in-laws.

Parace que hay MUY poco de BTC aqui...

Hardly any Bitcoin activity here, but Peru is not in chaos like Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.
1753  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Floorguru.co | Charge credit cards and receive bitcoins | Send bitcoins from CC on: May 23, 2016, 03:12:49 AM
I tried out this service earlier.

Upon checkout, you are required to key in a phone number, an email address and locality information. But there is no phone or sms or email verification from the site. The verification comes from your credit card issuer or the bank's two factor authentication or sms verification by the bank when you do an internet transaction with your credit card..

Once transaction is successful, you will see an order number with the amount transacted and the bitcoin you are supposed to receive.

You will then receive an email that states an operator will review the purchase and will be approved within 2 hours.

Roughly 30 minutes later, another email arrives that states that transaction has been approved and bitcoins will be sent. Within five minutes, the bitcoins arrived as promised.

Good work by OP.

The easier and less nosy the better.  I look forward to more reviews and more communication from this service.  Making a service reliable, easy and private (all three) is a tough nut to crack, but the guys who do will make a fortune.  And they COULD charge 10% or more, there would be takers for sure.
1754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: factom transactions... on: May 23, 2016, 03:08:04 AM
...

If factom REALLY wants more attention, they should send out BTC and NOT just to sham addresses...  And enough to encourage at least some to spend it (I understand the amounts are tiny, but could be included with other BTC to actually BUY something and maybe spread the word.)

Tiny amounts and a secretive approach don't seem like smart marketing to me.

And, they have had some time to implement their ideas.  Unless something I don't know about is going on, they seem to be losing mind-share.

1756  Economy / Economics / Re: I have 12 BTC in my Account, How should I invest this?? on: May 21, 2016, 04:15:37 AM

I initially bought .5 BTC thru Coinbase, then I hit a jackspot thru gambling website so now I have 12 BTC. I want to be safer now though, I know I cannot count on hitting jackpots.  Wink

You could always lock in part of your BTC profit by buying an ounce of gold.  About BTC3.0 will buy you a one (troy) ounce American Eagle.

providentmetals.com   Yes, they take Bitcoin, I have bought from them several times.  Diversification is smart.

Here's a nice widget that shows Bitcoin to Gold ratio:

Armstrong has some new material I finally got around to checking out.

He looks at gold here.  He is not a fan of gold at this time.  I think he has a trading mentality re gold.  He knows his history though.  (Disclosure: I ain't selling no matter what he says):

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/markets-by-sector/precious-metals/gold/market-update-for-gold/

Armstrong is not bullish on the Euro either.  Very bearish on the Euro and Europe (and the rest of the world's economy as well).

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/markets-by-sector/foreign-exchange/euro/the-death-of-the-euro/

Egyptian speculators, perhaps other Mideasterners are hunting dollars to get OUT of their countries, and willing to lose some money in doing arbitrages that LOSE money, to get the $ out.

1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is to storage private keys in the cloud? on: May 21, 2016, 03:55:29 AM
Can someone know where a private key belongs once a person have found it?

Let's say a private key copy is stored in the cloud and is found for a bad person; is it possible for that person to know where to use that private key?

Just rename the file something like family_pics_2009.zip and it will be totally safe.  Cheesy

Yes, that could work with proper creativity.

Or you could just add "1" to the second number in your key, or subtract two letters...  Just remember exactly what you did.

In general it would be better to go with a Ledger or Trezor.  I like them both.
1759  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can I trust Blockchain.info wallet? on: May 21, 2016, 12:23:38 AM
...

I have had three problems with blockchain.info's wallets (about two and a half years):

a)  I had two problems with their SharedCoin mixing service, but the problems were resolved OK.

b)  My wallet was cleaned out 100% once without me doing anything (I own the private key?!?!).  After some back & forth, I got it back.

Bottom Line: Nothing lost at blockchain.info for me, but I would suggest not holding too much there.  Hardware wallets instead!

I'm just about to leave town, so will have to check in when I get back.  Please have that BTC payment option up & running if possible when you can.

Your device looks like it will work very well in its niche, there apparently is nothing else like it.  I look forward to test-firing it sometime.
