2021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN FUNDRAISING FOR OTTAWA TRUCK DRIVERS on: February 14, 2022, 11:55:16 PM
It's so funny that GoFundMe actually means what it says. The site tells you to fund them because any money deposited on their site can be stolen by the owners. By running a fundraiser you are getting funds for the site. They said they aren't going to keep the stolen money but are going to spend them on charities. How does it make it better? If I steal from you and then donate to the homeless shelter everything should be fine, no crime done.
I hope these centralized sites keep doing it so more people wake up and realize what's going on.
The true power and need for decentralisation will be understood through these incidents. Thanks to the truckers who gave an awareness to the world. We don't know anything about the amount being collected, what they say is the truth. Now every transaction is transparent and everyone can know about the donations. Even if one has send specific amount, he/she can verify the transaction. Raising 21 bitcoin isn't a simple think, hope the world follows.
2022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difficulty of explaining Bitcoin to people is massive on: February 14, 2022, 11:31:21 PM
In the past this was a big thing. Nowadays things have changed a lot. During those days people were in a dilemma whether to go invest on cryptocurrencies or just ignore considering the regulation. With slow and gradual growth we've got more support from governments and more applications for the same is being developed. This makes the cryptocurrency easy understandable and usable without anyone's briefing.
2023  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for Feb on: February 13, 2022, 11:59:25 PM
The price tries to push the market and break the midrange resistance around $45500, but the ongoing market isn't able to do it. As a result the price has been getting moved between $42k and $43500. Inflation in US economy, the war urge between Ukraine and Russia are stated as the reason. Maybe after certain conclusion received on this issues the market could turn bullish taking support from the 50 Moving Average.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's confusing crypto bill on: February 13, 2022, 11:26:34 PM
It is like they're testing the emotions of the people. If someone have come out to protest, then this could've been made a big drama. Now the government is in a situation not to make any decision on it. Only for the reason it is being taxed heavily and hasn't given any statement on its legality. The government might've thought that people will confess and start paying taxes, but that isn't happening. The targeted revenue out of crypto taxation isn't possible, because people look for alternate ways to use it than paying such a big tax to have our own freedom on finance.
2025  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Government in Crypto on: February 13, 2022, 10:27:28 PM
The role of government is to educate the people about the cryptocurrency, because technology is driving the world. If the technology hasn't existed even now we'll be living a life that is lived by our ancestors. Those are really beautiful life, still to the growing population we're in need of technology.

The government need to understand that it cannot have control over the cryptospace. Better is to make people understand and get in, rather than just believing in money making. There were more and more scams and frauds in the name of cryptocurrency, maybe governments can have a screening team that finds the untrusted platforms and warn people on it than just giving warnings not to use cryptocurrency completely.
2026  Economy / Economics / Re: Dealing with tax and crypto ban on: February 13, 2022, 09:30:53 PM
Accepting the crypto taxes does not necessarily mean that government or central banks are actually accepting them as legit assets. Remember that tax acceptance could be Trojan horse situation where Government is saying that they are in favour of it but deep inside they could be plotting big arena battle. The recent case with India, where budget stated that they will levy 30% taxes on the crypto earnings. Just imagine the situation of those who are in India right now. I mean they may be happy but they may not be really happy!

It’s not full ban at all, but it’s indirect ban because who would pay 30% of their income straight in taxes? That’s sorrowful and they can’t just deal with it.
What we see with India is different. They should give the governments stand on cryptocurrency usage and further about the tax. What has happened is straight opposite, they've taxed heavily and then said just because cryptocurrency is taxed it doesn't mean it is legalized. So what does this people do, whether they can make use of it or not. For such a situation it is good to have a clear view as China. If I'm not wrong India won't make a conclusion statement, because it looks like more politicians invested into it.
2027  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Inflation is a big problem for a country? on: February 13, 2022, 04:59:01 AM
As Venezuelan, I have seen how inflation can literally destroy people's lifes.
Thankfully is slowing-down lately.

I believe one of the things necessary for inflation control is a serious and pragmatic macro-economical plan carried by one's country central bank which is independent of the extreme political ideals of the ruling party. One of the biggest mistakes commited here was giving more valuble to economic theory than long-proved economical actions which work, just for the sake of whatever the president and the party wished to implement.

The well-being of people must be above social/economical experiments, specially if one's trying to face such a serious problem as inflation.

Venezuelans have known well about inflation, being a Venezuelan what is said above is the truth. Compared to the previous years Venezuelans seems to recover slowly through the adoption of cryptocurrencies, making use of play to earn tokens and exploring all available possibilities on cryptocurrency. I read about people in Venezuela having cryptocurrency as a common means, even the technology wise lacking people have begun to make use of it through Binance pay and other similar payment gateways. Being the 7th largest population for cryptocurrency adoption the growth will happen soon out of cryptocurrency. The inflation is mostly out of the ruling government who doesn't care for its people rather a specific group.
2028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: February 12, 2022, 11:38:54 PM
Winning out of the memecoin is like a lucky draw. You just win/loss unlike the market movements, these memecoins are short term profiting investments. Very few used to grow in a slow manner reaching next level of growth. In recent months shiba is making history and this is something away from the memecoins, because there is regular acceptance and yesterday Microsoft have made tweet on dogs which is being connected with Shiba by the community. This gives some push in the market. So, it is good in holding the best of memecoins.
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 11, 2022, 11:59:35 PM
All forms of gambling is made effective and people are enjoying it. Beyond this I was blank to make a statement, my mind believe it'll be the blockchain on the games that'll be directly integrated with the gambling platform. As of now we've got more games developed over blockchain, but nothing seems to get integrated with the gambling platforms.
2030  Economy / Economics / Re: Forbes Announces $200 Million Strategic Investment From Binance on: February 11, 2022, 11:00:42 PM
Already some countries have warned Binance, Uk have banned the usage of Binance within the country. Maybe the regulators studied the growth and might've understood the unstoppable growth of Binance. Acquiring Forbes is really a big thing, and this will pave path for increased visibility to the cryptospace. Over the years media never show bitcoin with a positive comment, slowly this has been changing all around. Now a perfect investment from Binance will widen it's market, but countries will always have fear that they're losing control as media has the power to make anything big as well as low.
2031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was finally able to purchase an iPhone 13 pro max using my Bitcoin on: February 11, 2022, 12:39:49 PM
It is good to see other people who know and support bitcoin when they can accept it as payment although only from p2p transaction. In my country bitcoin still can't be used as payment and maybe if we talk about bitcoin, other people either listened or not they wouldn't care and something like OP experienced rarely to happen/
If you talk you'll get to know about more people who are already into cryptocurrency and bitcoin usage on different needs. I personally experienced it in my friends marriage. Friend of friend came for the marriage and were partying. At some point everyone are in a state of taking rest. By the time I got introduced to a person and on conversation he started to talk about bitcoin and altcoins. Suddenly he unlocked the mobile phone and showed me his portfolio which is really surprising, and his holdings were almost $7000 worth. In my country to see such an investment into cryptocurrency from a common man is really rare. So, if we keep conversation about cryptocurrency we'll find more people being aware and using it.
2032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin overtakes USD dollar? on: February 11, 2022, 06:41:24 AM
If this is about value of bitcoin going above $1, then it happened ten years back itself. In Feb 2011 the price of bitcoin reached $1. Further it have risen slowly and has experienced market fluctuations to reach the current price.

If this is about bitcoin taking over the position of USD, then it won't happen for now or within specific time period. Right now bitcoin have got good level of acceptance compared to the past, but the same doesn't make it a mainstream currency. For now it serves as an alternate to USD/other traditional fiat. Maybe with the upcoming generations scenario might change as everything is getting much associated with technology.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: February 10, 2022, 11:49:11 PM
If this match is to happen, by now the dates would've been announced. Months back itself it was scheduled for February 2022. Now almost in the mid of February and we haven't got any confirmed date. Paul Brothers are completely on business and this could've brought them big money. Tyson is clear in his stand, the match is not on money. The excitement is to watch the capability of a aged one against young one who doesn't have handful of experience.
2034  Other / Off-topic / Re: A 90 year old luxury car now becomes useless. on: February 10, 2022, 10:39:30 PM
rusty car on the right is not same model as the one on the left.. thus rusted car is not a HUDSON TERRAPLANE BROUGHAM 2 DOOR CAR.

notice the external headlights of a vintage car(left) but integrated headlights on the rusted car
notice the radiator grill differences of the vintage car(left) is upside down teardrop, rusted car is more like a ribcage
Both are different cars. There is difference in the headlights, front grill, glass frame. Someone have reworked on the car, and have tried to retain the originality. The difference means it has lost its originality or both were different cars. The rusted one has got a small holes down to the headlights which seems like the parking/indication light point. The same is missing with the left side car. The wheel arch is different, the bonnet lining is different. Anyhow this has got good bid on the market.

My guess, it is of the Soviet/Russian style car. After a bunch of search I found the rusted one to be Moskvich 400/401. I'm not sure on this.

my guess the rusted car is an opel olympia
https://cdn.classicdigest.com/live/carimg/141801_141900/141858_0abf2833e810ed69.jpg
Based on the image Opel Olympia is close to the rusted one. This confirms it to be different from the Hudson Terraplane Brougham 2 Door Car. Opel Olympia is a 2 door saloon whereas my guess on Moskvich is a four door saloon.

2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥶 Winter Beijin 2022 🥶 Discussion and bet thread 🥶 Winter Game 🥶 on: February 08, 2022, 11:57:23 PM
Betting sites may be part of EU and USA boycott that's why they are not listing winter Olympics games on there websites. I was on stake.com but couldn't find any event related to winter Olympics, I was interested in Alpine. Can you share link where I can bet on Alpine?
You must be kidding if you say that sportsbooks would boycott Olympic Games because political reasons. I don't know how you searched, but I can find all Olympics events on Stake and Alpine skiing is listed on the top of All Sports. Other crypto sportsbooks aslo have it.
I think the same, if a casino is not offering bets on Olympic events then it is unlikely this is because of political reasons and it has to do instead with the inability to offer those markets or simply they do not think they can turn a profit and decided to not offer those games.

After all at the end of the day casinos are a business and as long as what they are doing is not illegal then they have no reason to forfeit a possible source of income.

I don't think sportsbooks are going to be political when it comes to olympic games. They are in the gambling business, so they won't be that emotionally affected by their government's sentiments. Unless, the government itself instructed them to boycott this event, which is unlikely to happen. And if the casino is not listing the event, it may not be political reasons but they think that it is not profitable from their end.
Gambling for the house is a business. Here political games won't be prioritised. The team analyse whether adding specific games will bring profit or not. If thats profitable, the platform adds it. Apart from this, some sites used to run polls and add games according to the polling results. Just because few games weren't added, we can't tie it to the government or political situation prevailing in specific country.
2039  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamdom.com - 3 Million+ users - Jackpots, Rains - unique games modes on: February 03, 2022, 11:43:09 PM
I have finished testing the Gamdom casino, the review will be published this week.

I must say that this is a pretty decent casino with only one major problem: the rakeback and surprise rewards are being paid to USD balance, even if I play with Bitcoin.
It means that I must handle two separate balances and cannot withdraw the rewards together with my main balance, which is really uncomfortable.

So rakeback is paid in USDT? I understand your concern minimum withdrawal for USDT $200 and Gamdom use ERC-20 for USDT transactions it means more transaction fees
We wish other options were available like TRC20 this options will help small gamblers like us because currently crypto fluctuations are increasing.
Receiving rakeback in terms of USDT for the wagering in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies means to have a specific calculation against the fluctuation. Maybe in future this will be added with the rakeback of users choice. For now even on the ERC -20 network the fee doesn't look like a big one. As there will be variation with time, it is good to support few other networks along with it.
2040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Shiba Inu Coin a better investment than Dogecoin? on: February 02, 2022, 01:03:16 PM
Often more and more development is happening with Shiba. The latest being the addition of shiba trading pair on the Turkey based digital assets trading platform Bitexen. Months back Indian cryptocurrency exchange koinbazar added trading pair of Shib/USDT. More and more exchanges were adding Shiba which makes it progress better. We can't predict which is better over the other. With long years of Survival dogecoin makes the lead as a better investment.
