6441  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ideology & impact on real life on: October 11, 2020, 09:24:35 AM
The problem with ideologies is that they are almost perfect in theory but far from perfect in practice. In my case, I think capitalism is the least bad once it is put into practice, but always putting certain limits on the part of the state and having some redistribution of wealth. Although, ideally, these limits and redistribution should tend to the minimum.
6442  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: October 10, 2020, 11:10:20 AM
So the crisis in Venezuela is not due to socialism or communism, but because of the incomplete project of socialism which has made all social reforms fail to produce a change towards the control of a mode of production that can guarantee mutual prosperity. As a result, the social transformation to rid Venezuela from dependence on oil has not been successful. Meanwhile, the anti-Chavismo social forces, which had an economic base from the private sector, took advantage of this crisis to destroy the political project of Socialism.

It of course is due to communism, which is a nice idea in the theory, but the one of the worst economic systems when you put it into practice.

It is as simple as this. Do you know why the Berlin Wall was built? Because people were escaping en masse from a regime of political and economic repression to a free country. So, the Eastern Bloc politicians decided to build the wall.

How many people tried to escape from West Germany to East Germany by jumping over the wall? 0

How many people tried to escape from East Germany to West Germany by jumping over the wall? Tens of thousands, putting their lives on the line.

How many people try to escape from South Korea and go to North Korea? 0
And the other way around?

How many people escape from the United States to Cuba on a raft?
And the other way around?

How many people have escaped from Venezuela?

Venezuela exodus set to top 5 million as long-term needs grow, officials say.

And so on.
6443  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Adoption: A Breakthrough? on: October 10, 2020, 10:53:54 AM
They are saying that fiat currency are becoming useless because it is much risky to use it due to the Covid-19 virus that can be spread through cash transactions.

You're not making any sense. To begin with, cash can also be spent using debit cards. Also, the UN also came out to deny that the use of banknotes was transmitting the coronavirus: World Health Organization: ‘We did NOT say that cash was transmitting coronavirus’

So, your argument doesn't hold.
6444  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Adoption: A Breakthrough? on: October 10, 2020, 06:04:30 AM
LOL. A breakthrough in cryptocurrency adoption?

A card that converts crypto to fiat?

See this: Why Binance’s New Debit Card Fails to Fulfill Satoshi’s Vision.

In my opinion, it could be a breakthrough if that card would pay in crypto directly and thus if merchants accepted crypto payments, being those transactions recorded in the blockchain.

Apart form that, I agree with what others have said. Fiat is not dead.

Cash is still king.
6445  Other / Off-topic / Re: Really Random Topic - Our Existence on: October 09, 2020, 05:46:47 PM
If you refer to an anthropocentric God, that is, a god conceived in the image and likeness of man, but with super powers, no, I do not believe in him. This idea of God is expressed by the most multitudinous religions, like Christianity or Islam.

I agree with the ancient Greek Xenophanes of Colophon that if animals had a mind and also could paint, they would paint God with the form of an animal.

I do not deny that there is something like a "God", but if there is, it is surely something much more complex than what is expressed by anthropocentric religions.

6446  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC - What next? on: October 09, 2020, 02:20:01 PM
As a BTC holder, I'm starting to think about moving a large part of my BTC to USDT.
2nd wave of COVID-19, gap on CME, SPX and news, that showing around -  creating not positive thinking about the near future for BTC and the crypto market in general (personally for me).

What's your thoughts about this situation?

You do not explicitly say whether you are investing in the long or short term, but from your words it is clear that you are playing short term. Keep trying to time the market. I think the only system that works for that is to consult your crystal ball, as short term prices depend a lot on human emotions reacting to certain events and not to intrinsic properties of assets.

I prefer to invest long-term: buy and hold.

Nobody received any payment yet, but don't worry. This campaign is well known for always paying the participants. Sometimes there are some delays, but payments are always made and they are correct. You'll receive also some bonus for the delay. Just wait a bit more.

Thanks! No, I'm not too worried. I think I have to receive the equivalent of around $0.50 in bitcoin LOL.
6448  Economy / Services / Re: [Open] ▄■▀■▄ 🌟Bitvest.io🌟 - Plinko Sign Camp (Member-Hero Accepted)(New2) on: October 09, 2020, 01:40:58 PM
Campaign should be all processed no later then <24 hours from now
Everyone will get a bonus.

I was coming to the thread to ask about this just now because I've checked that I haven't received the payment.

Has everybody received it? Otherwise it seems to me that it has been delayed for more than 24 hours since the message was written. As this would be my first payment, I would like to know that everything is OK.
6449  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: October 09, 2020, 06:05:13 AM
The money printing strategy to stabilize economic conditions will not work in Venezuela, this is because money printing is not balanced with increased production, money printing is only to increase demand and for consumption.  The economic tragedy in Venezuela was caused by a series of adverse events including the drop in oil prices, a total economic embargo by America and the high level of economic dependence on oil exports and imports for public consumption.  From this, it can be seen that without trade diversification, the level of a country's sovereignty will be lower.

What? The economic tragedy in Venezuela has been caused by the communists who rule the country.

No. It has not been an unfortunate sequence of events. What has happened in all communist countries has happened in Venezuela: that the rulers are increasingly rich, at the cost of killing the population with hunger.

The problem is that the rulers have cut off all private initiative and with this, productive activity has been reduced to a minimum.

6450  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin market is fiery, what should we do on: October 08, 2020, 02:50:16 PM
The best answer to your question will come from self-education.

Paying attention only to what people tell you in an internet forum like this doesn't seem very smart. Instead, get information and come to your own conclusions, it's not bad to take into account what other people say, but the decision has to be yours all the time. Nobody knows what is the correct way of behaving in a high volatility market but through information you can guess what the most likely correct way for you and that won't come only from answers to this thread.
6451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and how to rank up easily on: October 07, 2020, 05:58:29 PM
No, you are not going to get merit for this post.
6452  Other / Off-topic / Re: Health is Wealth: You Take Supplements? on: October 07, 2020, 05:55:34 PM
I take quite a few, actually. Currently vitamin C, high doses of vitamin D, krill oil (omega 3) and a compound of melatonine, valerian and other herbs to help sleep better. I quite often use products from Dr. Sam Robbins but I cycle them (don't take them every day), namely Alpha Viril, Lean Optimizer, Blood Sugar Optimizer and Blood Flow Optimizer. I'll try more of his products in the future. In the past, I would take zinc, magnesium and other minerals, but since I take compounds that have them in, I no longer take them isolated.

I spend a lot of money buying supplements.
6453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another record, this is the 79th day on 2020 in which BTC has opened above 10k. on: October 07, 2020, 03:55:48 AM
It has jumped above 10k but we all want to see it hitting $20k again, and i don't see that happening this year. I think the halving was the chance to see that big bump on the prize but didn't happen. So maybe the end of the year has a nice surprise for us. Let's keep watching that bitcoin value.

I wouldn't give the influence of halvening up for lost. ATHs after halving were never immediate, they took months. I believe that if we have ATH before Christmas it is in part because of the influence of having. Although in a broad sense, as long as it is produced before the next halving, the bitcoin will be following its trend.
6454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No stimulus = drop in BTC price? on: October 07, 2020, 03:52:13 AM
It most likely is. Bitcoin has been heavily correlated with the stock market, and it pretty much just followed it down once again.

I provided a chart here: Topic: On Trump COVID Announcement: Bitcoin vs Gold vs The US Stock Market(US500)

Yes, the problem is that we are in a historical moment in which the bitcoin is behaving like another financial asset. A volatile and high risk one, but a financial asset after all.

This has not always been the case, because when bitcoin went from $0.01 to $20,000 there were phases in which it was not correlated with the stock market. And it doesn't have to be that way in the future either. We hope it won't be.
6455  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Twitter on: October 06, 2020, 02:47:14 PM
That would be nice, and by the way, to have an active account on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. But looking at the forum design I don't have much hope. This forum seems to be a remote corner of the internet, without much visibility, only for geeks.

Those who are looking for information about bitcoin, will find it, but the rest will not appear by chance.

I guess those who run it are fine like that, and don't think they need to expand much further but any other company with internet visibility works a lot these days its social networks.
6456  Economy / Economics / Re: The only thing goes up is debts! It’s inevitable! on: October 06, 2020, 02:37:09 PM
I agree that it seems inevitable.

https://www.usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html

When you see that the debt of countries works like clockwork, it's normal to wonder if the economic system in which we live isn't shit. Bitcoin was born to combat this, but the day when the economic system changes, if it ever does, is far away.

What I don't see is the link between incels, feminazy etc. with the economic system. 20 years ago we didn't have them and we had a lot of debt already, although less than now.
6457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN basher, the Liar 'John McAfee' is finally Arrested on: October 06, 2020, 02:27:36 PM
I think a lot of people are going to walk away from this arrest. His famous "I will eat my dick" won him many enemies. And his pump and dump alts more. I don't feel sorry for him.

Wasn't he going to run for president? LOL.
6458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question: Is there any websites where I can gamble crypto under 18? on: October 05, 2020, 05:40:49 PM
I don't think there is a licensed crypto gambling site which offers their services to children under 18 years of age. Well, even those unlicensed ones must get the confirmation from their users that they are already at the legal age to gamble.

But if you ask me if you can gamble despite your being a minor, yes, of course, you can. Most crypto gambling sites don't require KYC. All you need to do is to tick on the box confirming that you are already 18 years old or above, and there you go, you're in. But you should know you are doing something illegal.

This. I've registered in some crypto casinos and there is no way they know whether I am a minor or not. Another thing would be for them to somehow realize, which is very unlikely, that one of the registered players is a minor. In that case I think they would close the account.

Anyway, OP if you are a minor you'd better not play.
6459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yeees it's happening on: October 05, 2020, 05:25:23 PM
Slow and steady adoption is fine too.

Of course, that's what I think when I see news like this. They are not a boom for bitcoin but they are another step on the road to mass adoption. There is quite a lot of news like this that you see from time to time on the forum but I dream of seeing the day when this is not even news.

By the way, I haven't seen one such machine near where I live, I also dream of seeing one.
6460  Other / Meta / Re: How to Improve position rank on: October 05, 2020, 02:05:36 PM
Lazy people rank up slowly - if at all.

..or they actually don't. (at least for a lot of them. Also taking note that every single one of OP's posts except this one is on bounty threads.)

That's what I was thinking about. Something tells me that a person who opens a post like this, without doing a search first, is not going to rank up.

If I had looked for it, I would have found it easily. I think that's what most beginners who end up ranking up do.
