-snip-

It's a bit frustrating to see that we've had practically the same lows for 3 years (2018-2020), but if we look at the 2014-2016 period we can see a very similar situation.

Let's hope the price moons after this.

6484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Scams and Government on: September 27, 2020, 03:45:48 AM
If you stupid enough to believe people are going to give money away then you deserve to be scammed I am sorry. This doesn't make crypto look bad at all. All the crypto scams have fiat versions too.
Investments and some banks also scam people and then go under. This happens in the fiat world too. It's almost like some people think scams never existed until bitcoin.

I agree. I've just said something similar in another post.

As for victims of scams, some of them may just be naive people so I fell sorry for them. In many other cases they are greedy people who believe they are very smart so I don't feel sorry at all and I think, like you, that they got what they deserved.
6485  Other / Meta / Re: The strict policy in Bitcointalk. on: September 27, 2020, 03:31:53 AM
Here everything is regulated by the "The Pharmacist's mafia" & Foxpup's Gangs. All ranks & merit are selling at private channels.

Sometimes it seems that the forum was created by these same scammers to deceive people. I chase away this thought every day with varying degrees of success

I'd like to try that weed/LSD you are taking. I'd like to have hallucinations like that.
6486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible solutions to avoid cryptocurrency scams on: September 27, 2020, 03:23:29 AM
Strong regulation may help a bit but there are also many scams with fiat, so I don't think it's going to solve the problem. The same would happen with linking an identity.

I don't know about Concordium but some of us want cryptocurrencies that have a certain degree of anonimity. I can do electronic payments with fiat money, even central banks are planning to create fiat cryptocurrencies.

If cryptos are to succeed it is because they are essentially different from fiat electronic payments.
6487  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 Billion in Bitcoin Options Expire Friday. on: September 26, 2020, 10:22:45 AM
Sooo friday passed. Nothing happened. This options expiration was a big nothing.

The media writes articles to attract attention and cause emotions, so you read an article like that and the first thing you think is: will the price of bitcoin go down? will it go up?

If you read it right, it didn't say anything.

It's funny beause at first it seems that it could have an impact on bitcoin price but then it says it could make the price go up, or down or " could also have very little impact at all".

LOL

So, we have no idea where bitcoin price it's going to go, at least in the short-term.
6488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: September 26, 2020, 06:36:57 AM
I don't think the real problem here is gambling. People like OP's friend, if gambling didn't exist, they would develop that compulsive behavior with another addiction. Those people have a problem within themselves and their gambling behavior (or another kind of problematic behavior) is the effect of the problem they have. Although gambling (or taking drugs) can worsen that problem.

6490  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto. – Potential $150m Kucoin hack on: September 26, 2020, 02:39:41 AM
I can understand that some people have part of their funds in the exchanges, especially if they trade.

If someone has all the funds in an exchange he has to be a newbie. If not, he deserves what he gets.
6491  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 26, 2020, 02:30:56 AM
They do not prefer cash in all cases. I have seen cases of kidnapping for ransom in bitcoin. For those cases I understand that bitcoin is superior, because the kidnappers don't have to physically go anywhere to collect the ransom and can move the money much more easily.

For retail drug sales, for example, cash is better.
6492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: All Bitcoin Lottery websites on: September 26, 2020, 02:10:56 AM
Well, I am here in the forum for how many years but as I have noticed that people do not get interested to lottery gambling games because they think that the chances of winning are very small, you can't really win and you need to wait for days before it will re-draw again.

Perhaps you can also add this, https://www.cryptomillionslotto.com/
They accept bitcoin base on their FAQ, https://www.cryptomillionslotto.com/faqs/payments/

They are right then.

Has anyone ever tried a lottery simulator?

Try this one: https://www.cuandomevaatocar.com/en/

You can really see there how lottery is a EV- game. You'd better put your money somewhere else.

The only thing that can be positive about the lottery is the big prizes, which if you win can change your life. But the odds are so low that it's easier to get hit by lightning a couple of times on the same day.

6494  Other / Off-topic / Re: SUICIDE IS FOR COWARDS on: September 25, 2020, 07:58:24 AM
It saddens my soul anytime I get to read or experience suicide incident. My believe is that regardless of any situation or condition we might find ourselves, suicide should never be an option. Many people had been in a condition worst than what we could be passing through. I once read a story of a man that lost his wife and three kids to ghastly accident, still he stayed strong, only few conditions could be worst than that. Suicide is never an option and it won't be an option regardless of what we are going through. In my local dialect, there is an adage that says ' a fowl that is not dead could still peck grains'

It takes a lot more bravery to fight instinct and kill yourself then it does to rob someone because you are hungry.

I would not call it bravery but despair in most cases.

I have had two close cases of people committing suicide and from what I know of their circumstances it was despair that led them to it.

6497  Other / Off-topic / Re: TESLA WILL BE THE FUTURE on: September 24, 2020, 04:20:03 AM
I'm not so sure. The other car companies are also making electric cars affordable. See this recent news for example:

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/23/success/volkswagen-id-4-electric-suv-unveiled/index.html

"Prices for the ID.4 will start at about $40,000, not including the widely available $7,500 federal tax credit for purchasing an electric vehicle."

Tesla has too much debt and growing competition. What it has is the power of the brand but it is a power it can lose.

It think the stock is in a bubble, even Elon Musk said this. The problem with american companies is that the bubble keeps inflating and you never know when it is going to explode.

6498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks Launder $2 Trillion While Claiming BTC Is For Money Laundering? on: September 24, 2020, 03:53:15 AM
Many scams are based on the idea of making you believe that the one who is scamming the other is you. So you don't realize that it's the other way around.

In the same way, banks blame money laundering on bitcoin, to divert attention so that people don't realize that they are laundering the most money and appear to be honest institutions.
