Use the search function. It's at the top manu.

If you have doubt about a topic then use ab keyword/word and search with it. Selecting time range is handy. You can also the option of ordering your search. My preference is "Most recent topic first"

Yes OP, do as @Royse777 says.

There is another alternative. I do pretty much the same using google. I can show results from bitcointalk.org only if you set it like that. Then you can also set time interval preferences and so on.

But don't be too worried about it, just search a bit before creating a thread.
6462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: During The Last U.S Presidential Debate Bitcoin Price Was Only $630 on: October 05, 2020, 01:53:42 PM
This is a pointless historical comparison.
During the 2012 US presidential elections(Obama vs.Romney)The Bitcoin price was below 10 USD (AFAIK).
And so what? What's the point of remembering this information?
We have to be focused on the future of Bitcoin, not the past.

I don't think it is pointless. He is just pointing out how the price has increased, hoping that will keep following that trend upwards. I think all bitcoin holders hope it will be much higher for the next US election.

Don't go to the speculation section, then. It is full of comparisons like that one.
6463  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social media and tv making us adult before time? on: October 04, 2020, 01:44:24 PM
Well, children should probably not have unrestricted internet access. If necessary, the parents should establish a while list and only add sites needed for things like homework, education or supervised entertainment.

Internet is not a safe place, its like taking a country boy/girl to a large city and leaving him/her there abandoned.

The problem with that is that kids learn to break those restrictions. Many of them start to watch porn before they are teens.

Even girls watch porn at a young age. When porn was only accessible when you had to go personally to a store to buy a magazine or a DVD, very few women watched porn. And the few that did were adults and they used to do it as a couple.

Today girls have access to porn in two clicks but I don't think that is making them adults before time, it's just that things are different.

6464  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, Stocks Fall as Trump Tests Positive for COVID-19 on: October 03, 2020, 05:31:57 PM
The cryptocurrency and Asian stock markets sold off early Friday after U.S. Pres. Donald Trump announced he and his wife had tested positive to COVID-19.

They will go back up on Monday. It really does not make any change if Trump is in bed or if he is playing golf. Only thing is that we might have few tweets a day instead of 10. That actually sounds bullish for stocks to me.

This. Markets tend to behave crazy in the short-term. Trump getting COVID-19 or a hurricane, it doesn't matter. That's why I don't like trading. It pretends to predict what's unpredictable: human emotions reacting to news.
6465  Economy / Speculation / Re: will early sellers buy back in eventually? Will lambo buyers trade the lambo4btc on: October 03, 2020, 04:46:42 AM
The smartest thing if you were an early seller is that you didn't sell all bitcoin. If someone did sell all, and became very rich, he doesn't need to buy bitcoin again but I bet some people did if they believe in the technology and what bitcoin represents. More because of ideology than because of the potential profits. However, I think this kind of person wouldn't have sold everything.
6466  Economy / Speculation / Re: US economy won’t be charging upwards like we had hoped for on: October 02, 2020, 03:04:53 PM
They’re going to be looking for alternatives to traditional investments like stocks, bonds etc. This is where bitcoin comes in, watch this space over the next 12-18 months.

Not an expert economist in any way whatsoever, but we can probably assume why the stock markets(at most) are pretty overvalued right now. And since bitcoin has been really closely following the S&P500, I think it would take more than that to grow bitcoin's price in a way that isn't just going to mirror the S&P500.

This. I've seen LFC_Bitcoin in the Wall Observer thead saying the same. He is pretty confident but I'm not so sure about that and even started a thread about it: Are we biased?

I would like that what LFC_Bitcoin says happened but that has been said for many years, and for the moment bitcoin price is somewhat linked to the US stock market performance.
6467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mediocre/People. on: October 02, 2020, 02:46:16 PM
Hi,

You need to write better. There are too many misspellings in that text. Many people won’t read it just because of that.

As for the content, I would also like that more people understood bitcoin and used it but I don’t agree with you calling them mediocre. Warren Buffet doesn’t like bitcoin, is he mediocre? I think it’s the other way around. Some people are very intelligent and don't buy bitcoin
6468  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: October 02, 2020, 09:31:19 AM
your list is more understandable and more serious that the op however the rule 1 , 2 and 3  contradicts or has a conflict on the 4th rule because on the rule of 1 ,2 ,3 it shows your financial savy side .

you avoid debt and you save money but why will you waste that all effort on one single thing which was investing ?  this cant also be called easy and it cant be called less risky if investing is involved .

Hi mate, you don't know much about finance, do you?

Investing doesn't have any conflict with rules 1,2 and 3. If you save and don't invest, you lose money due to inflation. There are many low-risk ways to invest to beat inflation.

Finally, you are in a bitcoin forum and say that investing is not savy? Even if you don't buy bitcoin and you only get it through you signature campaign, you are investing your time to get it. To get a risky asset.

6469  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: October 02, 2020, 04:56:47 AM
I'll give my own ones:

1) Avoid debt at all costs. If you are already in debt get out as fast as possible.

2) Live on less than you make.

3) Have an emergency fund.

4) Invest, invest, invest. The simplest way is and index fund.

This is the easiest way to get rich. There are others, but this is the less risky and easiest one.
6470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to DCA from Europe, Scandinavia on: September 30, 2020, 05:55:21 PM
Doesn't coinbase have reasonable fees for you? I am sure you can buy from Scandinavia. I wouln't go for a cheap one that no one knows. Better exchange with a good reputation that aren't going to disappear overnight.
6471  Economy / Economics / Re: Non-Government Economic System (Anarchy) on: September 30, 2020, 05:46:55 PM
I think that, in theory, it is very good, the problem is that when it comes to putting it into practice there would be too many people who are evil or who would like to take advantage of the fact that there is no government.

I am not in favor of communism either, but I think that in theory it is very good. In an ideal world it would work, but not in this one.

I think anarchism could work in this world but in small populations, though, as long as people there were honest and good people.

If it had ended lightlord would have updated the OP and locked the thread. The payouts always came intermittently and late but every post always gets paid eventually.

I was thinking that precisely. I haven't seen anything about the giveaway ceasing in the OP and I also think it should have been locked, unless Lightlord doesn't mind people bumping the thread for free.

I've seen he posts here from time to time. Let's hope he clarifies the question.
6473  Other / Meta / Are they bots? on: September 29, 2020, 07:49:34 PM
Some time ago I saw that there was a giveaway on this thread.

I bumped it some times to only recently realize that no giveaway had been deposited in my 777coin account.

I asked about that and was told that the giveaway had ended some time ago.

Then I thought, what are those guys doing? They bump the thread every day. They must have realized that no money is deposited into their account.

I've looked at their post history and I've seen this:

User joshing. His post history consists in 41 pages repeating the same message: "777coin username: joshing
Thank you"

User levik. The same: 54 pages just bumping that thread.

Then there are others who wrote some posts in the beginning but for the past like three years they have been just bumping that thread.

For example: ronaldo8971 and planetroving.

I think they must be bots, otherwise I don't understand. I suppose that should be reported. Is it OK just with this thread or should I also report them?
6474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis of Bitcoin dependence on gold along with 10,000 channel analysis on: September 29, 2020, 05:28:51 PM
I see that you have taken your time to do that analysis, but I do not accept the premise that the bitcoin price depends on the price of gold. You say so yourself:

we see that bitcoin is moving a little independently and a little bit dependent on gold.

Apparent relationships can be established between almost anything. Yes, sometimes gold price is similar to bitcoin price,  and they have similar features but I don't think we are going to go farther than: "sometimes the price behaves similar and sometimes not".
6475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency for Passive income on: September 29, 2020, 05:07:03 PM
I don't see much sense in what you say. First of all, cryptos give you passive income if they go up in price and you sell.

Passive income often refers to the dividends you receive from a stock or the rental income you receive from your tenants. In a way, you can say that bitcoin (or stocks that don't pay dividens) give you passive income if they give you capital gains.

And then you say in the second paragraph that stocks weren't supportive to make passive income due to the Coronavirus crisis because they crashed but cryptos crashed as well. So, unless you explain yourself better, what you say no makes sense to me.

I'm going to ask on this thread because I asked in the promo one and received no reply:

Hi, does anyone know when the giveaway gets deposited?

I wasnt too bothered but I've just checked that the first time I wrote on this thread was August 7 and I haven't been deposited any satoshi in my 777coin account .

I think it's too long.

I wasn't too worried about this and wasn't even bumping the thread every day but recently I realized that no giveaway had been deposited.

Can anyone help?
6477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Zealand's tax authority asks crypto firms to turn over customer info on: September 29, 2020, 05:44:25 AM
I think the issue here is that mass adoption is not going to go hand in hand with anonymity. If crypto is to be mass adopted, most users are going to be identified by governments. There always be some people using decentralised exchanges and escaping from Governments' control but just the same way as most cash transactions are declared and there are a percentage of them that escape from Governments' hands.
6478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Sets Record 63 Straight Days Closing Above $10,000 on: September 29, 2020, 05:34:31 AM
This analysis confirms the increasing trend of the bitcoin price. In my opinion we will see an ATH in the coming months, but I wish I could already assure it. Past performance does not guarantee future performance. We don't know if any future events, will bring the price down, as happened with COVID in March.

Hi @CryptopreneurBrainboss, could you check if everything is correct on the spreadsheet regarding me?

As I joined in the middle of the week I wasn't sure if I was going to be paid on this round.

When I look at the spreadsheet I see: "new 25/9" and 0 posts counted. So I've thought that the posts I've written since I joined would count for the next round.

But then I see another fellow member who joined on the same date and he has posts counted. I'm referring to Bagiira.

So, I think something is wrong with me. I wrote more than 15 posts since I joined till Sunday.

I'm not too bothered, as it's just pennies, but please have a look.
