Hi All,

We are Happy to announce that the SP20 has sold out.

It's not too late for those who want to own a Spondoolies-Tech unit as we continue to offer the SP31.
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp31-yukon-shipping-from-stock

These are the last of our second generation units that will be available while we continue our development of the third generation.

A big thank you from all of us at Spondoolies-Tech to all SP20 reviewers, customers, and enthusiasts!

Regards,

Gadi

just an FYI - both my sp20 & sp20E have been acting up.

possibly due to dying PSUs

new PSUs seem to have solved the constant hiccups for now

I also think they could do with a cleaning/dusting... which is a bit of a nightmare...

one day i'll present to you my 'SPDirty'

oh & BTW - @support asked for (& received) my email address a week ago, nothing since.

BOL Solemn!!
You posted that SD boot solved your issue.
Do you still have open issue?

and AFTER i posted that, you posted your team would like to send experimental something.

days later they PMd to ask for email address (despite already having it)

i replied the same day - not heard back since.

not that i want anything - just sharing my experience.

what do you suggest for cleaning the SP20s heatsinks?

I'll check if the experimental SD recovery for your emmc problem is ready. Edit: we'll ship you once it will be ready.

Gentlemen,

I have an SP20 that has decided to restart itself every 300 (roughly) seconds.  This unit has been running alongside its sisters just fine for over a month and developed this problem yesterday.  Sooooo...a few questions...

Do I email spondoolies directly and if so which email address?

Do I simply let this post prompt someone at SP-tech respond?

What reporting or screen shots can I provide to help tech support solve this problem?

Is there a few quick things I can check myself before escalating this to SP-tech support?

Thanks in advance!

...
I was hoping that spondoolies might be able to help avoid such a scenario from taking place. There needs to be mining manufactures that are able to sell to the masses ...
We're trying. That's the plan.
566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 19, 2015, 08:35:41 PM
here is the problem as I see it. if bitfury can run 50-100ph at 2 cents a kwatt and .2 watts a gh.

they turn a profit at under 70 bucks a btc.

in fact if they run 100 ph and it uses 30 mega watts they still make money.
even if btc is  70 dollars a coin and diff is 100 vs the 44 is it now.

BitFury are at 3.8 cents, but the example hold.

Not with our 2nd gen. Time will tell if there will be retail market for the 3rd gen.
Are you basically saying as of now Spondoolies is out of the race and now it's between the private entity 21e6 and Bitmain?
Clarified SP-Tech's reply a bit for you.  You've already seen the Spondoolies / Genesis bit and their own earlier hosted options.  Those could, arguably, be seen as non-retail.  I wouldn't count Spondoolies out just yet Smiley
To clarify: With Genesis Mining, we ship them SP31 to fulfil the contracts, only after they actually sell the contracts. They're buffering with their own SHA256 machines until our miners arrives.
There are three markets: retail, bulk and self mine. Currently, we're doing only the first two.

I think the community would appreciate you sticking to that.  Manufacturers mining with their own gear while it's new and most profitable and then selling to end users once they've taken the lion's share of the prime lifespan is getting old.
We'll try. Unfortunately, I believe we'll see 3-4 mining conglomerates doing self mining with their own ASICs of about 95% of the blocks in 6-12 months.
I don't think it will be good for Bitcoin.

centralization incoming Sad
Yes. Initially 3-4. Afterwards probably only 1-2

What screws fit the holes on the top and bottom of the SP20, I was wanting to secure them on install.

Thank You

BitmainTech and most probably 21e6 and BitFury are deploying.
Spondoolies to follow? Smiley

Not at all. I just said that we're currently not deploying our 2nd gen. We're only selling it. At current rate, the stock will be sold out in few weeks (already sold out on the SP35).
With our 3rd gen, if there will be a retail market, we'll continue to sell. The entire industry however is going towards mega scale self mining. See my post about BitFury few pages back.

Has anyone tried one of these pmw fan adapters to see if it works, or does the sp20 have a different wiring solution?
http://www.amazon.com/GELID-Graphics-Cooling-Connector-Conversion/dp/B005ZKZEQA
I was thinking about using a delta I had lying around and seeing what difference it makes for noise, but I would like to keep the wiring clean.
I'd be interested in knowing if this adapter worked as well. Have a few 4 pin PWM fans I would like to try to experiment with in the SP20's.

So the SP20 fan is not connected to the board with a standard 4-pin PWM connector?  If so, that's kinda Apple-ish.

Assuming you're using our hardware as seen in your website, have you bought the hardware directly from us ?

Dear Spondoolies,

Thanks for your interest to our post and our new company.

At the moment, we do not use any hardware from your company but we are planning to use them in the near future. That's why you've seen your brandname in our website.
We will contact you soon after all planning schedule is pronounced.

Thanks again. Have a nice day!

Our thread is now in the third place in number of posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0;sort=replies;desc
I don't expect we'll get any higher than third place, unless we'll piss off Gleb Gamow / Phinnaeus Gage  Grin

Not too bad, considering we've started to sell less than 11 months ago.

Contact support@

Seriously Huh You're kidding right Huh
I have contacted support several times and I got nothing for it. I asked for the SSH login and I wasn't even told it was root/root. That should've been in the documentation.

Why can't tech support provide a written troubleshooting guide I can follow Huh

I also requested RMS to return the several DOA SP20 I received in my 15 SP20 order and I have not recieved that either.
Order # ?
Ticket # ?

I recently received 15 SP20s and I cannot get them all running. Several have the problem of dead or idle boards. Is there a way to wake them up and get them hashing or are they just plain old DOA Huh  Below is an example powered by a dedicated Corsair AX1200:

SD Boot fixed it for me.

As i understand the SD card must remain inside the rig forever..?

For now.
Remo will contact you with experimental SD recovery to try to fix the emmc

I would also like to try this please - I'm still waiting for Barbara to send me RMA shipping info, so might as well try this out in the meantime - if it works it will save me having to send the unit back & fight with DHL over tax & import duty again  Smiley
Have you try SD boot (not recovery) ?

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/13098521-sp10-sp2x-sp3x-recovery-sd-card-boot-sd-card-creation-instructions

Yes, a few times.
I asked Remo to contact you. It's the weekend here.
