Tips for a fake covid vaccination card - do not misspell "Moderna" as "Maderna".

Although, travel restrictions for the unvaccinated are dumb, unless you might be traveling to an area with low vaccination rates, then why bother. That is to say, if vaccines do reportedly work, the idea is you take a vaccine and stop caring about Covid, you lift the lockdowns, you take off the mask. And this woman is 24 years old. Hardly at risk. Why should she take the vaccine when Covid poses almost zero threat to her?
1882  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I saw my first counterfeit Covid vaccination card yesterday… on: August 31, 2021, 05:34:10 PM
..

Literally no one called anyone obese - well, I did, except to the guy earlier who had the misfortune of dying of Covid despite being at risk and immunologically impaired, and I *still* feel sorry for him. Although, the celebratory nature of the MSM when a right wing figure does of Covid is disheartening. Wait till you find out that study after study shows that upwards of 70 percent of those that end up in the intensive care units have obesity.

Who could have thought that an upper respiratory virus, which complicates your breathing, would disproportionately affect people that are overweight?

And the obesity rates in EU and NA regions? Off the charts.

People under estimate how deadly this virus is to people with underlying conditions.

While in their best interest to take the vaccine, putting down the sandwiches and chips and pastries would be immensely beneficial too, because they'd save themselves of Covid, heart disease, and many types of cancers. Taking the vaccine is a whole lot easier though, so maybe the vaccine first, diet plan later.

Happens to be true that people very arrogantly will reject the vaccine due to online misinformation, but that's only a problem if you're someone that is susceptible to the virus.

Do we really care if a bunch of smart ass 25 year olds post anti-vax garbage online? I don't, stupid kids will be stupid kids. Most the anti-vax stuff I've seen is just alt right trolling. Hardly worthy of discussion.
1883  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I saw my first counterfeit Covid vaccination card yesterday… on: August 30, 2021, 08:09:33 PM
not how you fear affects due to something you read on a conspiracy site

I have no fear whatsoever.  If I was afraid, I'd go get vaccinated...  In fact, I'd happily make out with someone who has Covid every six months just for the natural immunity boost without a care in the world.  This thread isn't about me being unafraid of a flu virus though, so perhaps you should spare me your personal digs to earn merit from ignored trolls desperate for my attention (which you are about to become to me)...  This thread is about the fact that the government is trying to achieve a level of control that is impossible, and I've already seen it demonstrated that this level of control is impossible.  You lashing out at me for stating these facts demonstrates your fear, not mine.

The issue is the lack of fear, specifically amongst the obese really.

A lot of the deaths are from old people and fat people, to put it bluntly.

The focus is getting them vaccinated, and for those that don't, it's just natural selection.

...

And of course he's fat.

Victim of his own stupidity, I feel sorry for him.

This is fantastic news. Kraken lady losing her license to practice law after grifting millions into believing the 2020 election would be overturned. She was a bit too crazy for the Trump legal team which is why they kicked her out. And that sure is saying something, when Rudy Giuliani no longer wants anything to do with you.

https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/Unclassified-Summary-of-Assessment-on-COVID-19-Origins.pdf

Quote
The IC assesses that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, probably emerged and
infected humans through an initial small-scale exposure that occurred no later than November
2019 with the first known cluster of COVID-19 cases arising in Wuhan, China in December
2019. In addition, the IC was able to reach broad agreement on several other key issues. We
judge the virus was not developed as a biological weapon. Most agencies also assess with low
confidence that SARS-CoV-2 probably was not genetically engineered; however, two agencies
believe there was not sufficient evidence to make an assessment either way. Finally, the IC
assesses China’s officials did not have foreknowledge of the virus before the initial outbreak of
COVID-19 emerged.

DNI report alleges it is possible the virus originated in a lab, also determined that the virus probably was not genetically engineered, but they also said some agencies said it was possible to tell either way.

China doesn't want to cooperate, I wonder why  Huh
1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of using Bitcoin on: August 27, 2021, 10:28:38 PM
You can separate out risks of using Bitcoin from fiscal policy/shortcomings of its inherent structure (crypto currency, based on the block chain with a limited circulation) from the regulatory portion. I know you weren't providing a commentary on the distinctions between both but it's worth noting the difference because the regulation of Bitcoin is constantly changing, and the level of risk someone faces changes. That isn't necessarily a risk associated with the inherent properties of Bitcoin, though. It's a problem with the government in the country you live in, so I'd just make that nuance.

Most first world countries are trying to tamper down the growth of crypto, and that's a problem with corrupt politicians more than anything. Of course, to the average consumer, that is a risk to consider. Just not a property that was attached to Bitcoin upon creation.
1887  Economy / Speculation / Re: What make people panic sell? on: August 27, 2021, 08:46:34 PM
I like watching the day traders who start to lose their cool because of fluctuations swinging back and forth, and god forbid they are negative a few points on the day. It's a negative feedback loop that's based on short term profit motives. You can think of it like a small snowball that rolls down a mountain getting bigger, gaining momentum, as it goes down - few folks begin to sell and the mindless sheep follow after.
1888  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reeee: Joe Biden is President of the United States on: August 27, 2021, 07:25:50 PM
But, let's say the US leaves by the 31st or earlier, does the Taliban begin using a hitlist to off all the remaining US citizens and Afghan allies. Does this become a hostage crisis?

According to QuickNumber7, it's been a "hostage crisis" since Day 1 of the pull-out, why wait until after the 31st to start the fear porn reel when Trump gave you the go-ahead to do it now?

Well, Biden gave me permission after yesterday's presser giving away a hit list of US names and identities of Afghan allies. His answer was, to say the least, not reassuring.

But I have come to realize that the world cannot blame Biden for this. He is too old to take responsibility for most of this, he is not with us anymore. While very sad, he deserves to retire and finish the rest of his life in grace, not one of scrutiny and contempt, for which he cannot help.
1889  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If ISIL is still alive, what are the reasons behind it? The ISIL attack on: August 27, 2021, 07:19:08 PM
Well the group behind the attack was "ISIS-K", whatever that means. Apparently some sort of subgroup of ISIS that formed. But regardless of the group, the reason is radical islamic terrorism and disdain for western values. Macron in France is doing a wonderful job on standing against radical islamic terrorism after the country was struck numerous times by terror attacks, and of course, many criticize him for his aggressive rhetoric. The extremists despise the French as well as the Americans, for committing the sin of going against their religious tyrannical theocracy.

That's reason enough for these fine folks.

The United States just upped their inflation projections given July's inflation numbers being released - https://www.marketwatch.com/story/inflation-rate-hits-30-year-high-pce-shows-as-u-s-confronts-major-shortages-11630068319

Supply shortages is forcing the problem, the federal reserve announced that they are going to be ending their pandemic provisions and stopping aid at the federal level, but the damage is already done.

Even if you go back to the target of 2 percent inflation (which is what the federal reserve announces their target to be), the damage is done. You're already thrown away the value and merit of your currency because you can't reduce the money supply after you print it.

The concern remains - US is afraid of a shooting war with the Taliban so they are forced to make concessions. The Taliban also understands this, mutually assured destruction with Joe Biden facing political fall out and the Taliban being blown to pieces if a war were to break out.

But, let's say the US leaves by the 31st or earlier, does the Taliban begin using a hitlist to off all the remaining US citizens and Afghan allies. Does this become a hostage crisis?
1892  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Afghanistan fall into a prolonged state of war again? on: August 26, 2021, 04:15:56 PM
ISIS really outdoing the taliban in the theocratic totalitarianism olympics. Radical islamic terrorism claiming yet even more lives.

Suicide bombing with multiple casualties, at least 3 US troops injured.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/26/explosion-rocks-kabul-airport-as-us-tries-to-evacuate-thousands-506937

US intel was right, shocker. They saw a terror attack on the airport incoming and starting evacuating troops in anticipation maybe. US troops will be shipped out of the country in record time, too much risk for them to stay around and I'm sure the US intel community knows this. Expect more terror attacks to come.

Edit - 40 + Afghans killed, 4 US troops killed.
1893  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: August 26, 2021, 03:44:36 PM
Yes Israel preprint is clear natural immunity far superior to vaccine. Vaccinated 13x more likely to be infected, with Delta dominant.

That's not quite what I said.

The study was looking at the symptoms of infected persons, not the likelihood of getting infected.

If you take the vaccine, your chance of infection is lower, but according to this study, the chance of a symptomatic infection is higher than a reinfection of a previously infected person.

And so if you're a child or some young person in your 20's and early 30's even, might be better just to take your chances. Anyone older than that should probably just get vaccinated.
1894  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: August 26, 2021, 01:20:21 PM
...

Hmm, I was going to post this same study.

Very surprising study out of Israel that suggests natural immunity reduces the risk of symptomatic infection.

Although, take into account, that is *if* you survive the initial infection.

So in fact, it might be better for the younger people not to get vaccinated and deal with the infection normally, recover, and become immune, whereas someone older is better off with taking the vaccine because they have a high likelihood of dying.

Also the part worth mentioning in the study was that they said no Covid deaths observed in either cohort - and of course they can't ask a dead person to be part of the cohort either so there is already a confound with trying to use this study to examine the death rate. There are better studies out of Israel that cover that portion.
1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Capitalism, Democracy and Decentralisation on: August 26, 2021, 03:57:23 AM
the high school economics think double the money in a country is a tax as it doubles the price of goods..
but this is not true

Well, it technically can, just to a certain extent. You can look at the M2 charts for the US and see how steep the increase is from around March 2020.

Set that aside, look at the federal reserve balance sheet, massive increase in the federal reserve liabilities because they are trying to inject money into the economy by quantitative easing. Well, at some point you can't keep taking on debt without inflation running away.

And as it turns out, the inflation rate for the US is something like 5 percent. So what was the benefit of injecting more money that has ever been printed in human history over the span of 1.5 years? Increased prices for goods.
1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Capitalism, Democracy and Decentralisation on: August 25, 2021, 10:16:02 PM
Seems like you're taking economic theory and blending it with governmental philosophy. Laissez faire capitalism can have components generally don't include components of centralization, but any good capitalistic society has regulations. That doesn't necessarily mean governmental control is needed over the currency system or central banking system. You can still have a decentralized currency with economic regulations, although it is a bit counter intuitive for any government to give up that much control over their economy, so we'll never see it in practice.
1897  Economy / Economics / Re: The reason to hodl bitcoin on: August 25, 2021, 09:26:52 PM
https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/money-supply-m2

There is your reason to keep hodling.

More money of the largest currency of the world, USD, has been printed in the last years than ever in human history. You can look at federal banking balance sheets in your own countries and take a look at the debts adopted over the pandemic to see how the banks are artificially propping up currencies. US is trying the method of qualitative easing which doesn't seem to be going well if the inflation trends continue on the way they do. European central banks aren't doing the greatest either.

When the world's largest currency is bound to fail, you have your reason to hold.
1898  Economy / Economics / Re: Pakistan's Economy are going to crisis for Taliban? on: August 25, 2021, 07:45:50 PM
I don’t understand what point of view you want to explain. Pakistan’s economy has always been on the verge of collapse. Afghanistan’s current economic situation is also extremely bad, with little impact on Pakistan. The country with the largest real investment in Pakistan is China. The impact of China's national investment policy on Pakistan will be obvious.

China also will capitalize on Afghanistan, so will Russia. They're already cutting deals with the Taliban and so whatever investment opportunities Afghanistan might provide, China will be sure to set up shop. Also makes you think if Afghanistan and other middle eastern countries will begin to have a dependency on China if any sort of relationship is established. Having terrorist groups concede to the Chinese is the most predictable outcome, but anything's possible I guess.
1899  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: August 25, 2021, 07:41:03 PM

And what might it say about Trump, now that he has graciously succumb to the gradations of vaccine acceptance?

He has not "graciously" succumb, He's talking about how proud he is of the vaccine.
There is a longer clip I ran into but it's such a load of B.S. of him talking about how there is resistance because Biden's president and it would be that way if he was still in office

https://nypost.com/2021/08/08/donald-trump-says-operation-warp-speed-saved-lives/

Regardless if he accepted the vaccine with grace or not, he's telling people to go get vaccinated. A major step for someone who had linked autism to vaccine back during the 2016 republican primaries. Even though he got booed and his supporters won't listen, he isn't promoting conspiracies of his own vaccine that was created under his administration. The media wants to pin vaccine hesitancy on toothless Trump supporters.
1900  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Taliban attacks on Panjshir then US and EU must show its full force - why? on: August 24, 2021, 09:54:16 PM
what most people forget is this

1. the US made a contract to ALLOW taliban to take over when the us evacuates.
2. EMPHASIS they ALLOWED taliban to take over as long as the taliban prevented al-queda
3. the ORDERS were to not fight the taliban or prevent them taking over. as the mission was to allow the takeover.

yes thats right the taliban takeover was a US planned event they wanted to happen. as oppose to letting al-queda get hold of afghanistan

the US is not going to bounce back in and take afghanistan off of the taliban

the UN is hoping the taliban rush through some democracy and organise a legitimate election to form a real democratic government voted in by the population where the candidates are actually openly chosen

They knew the takeover was inevitable, except they just thought it would take upwards of 2 months, and they didn't plan on Americans having a tough time evacuating from the country.

So of course, the US won't want to go back. It wasn't the original plan, and they know that a shooting war with the Taliban is inevitable if they stick around in the country long enough.

The only circumstance they do go back is if there's some hostage situation that originates with US citizens. The UN's hope of a democracy will end up in the trash can, as we already know the Taliban is already killing dissenters.
