I believe bitcoin can support all types of business both offline and online but the requirement of confirmation must be deciding how secure it will be. My local physical shop owner is ready to accept my bitcoin payments from me (not just myself. He accepts from all known people) even with zero confirmations. This way bitcoin based business can do anything even in physical level too.
